We couldn't get through a thread about domestic violence without one of those "well she must have deserved it" comments...

And it doesn't take long for the TVF feminists to change somebody correctly stating "you don't really know what the lady might have done to prompt the action" into "well she must have deserved it" ...

Yes and no. The choices available in Pattaya are depressingly minimal. But sure it's good of its a place you want to eat at.

Yep.Agree. I would have liked more choice of "real" Japanese like the one on second road near the rear gate into Wat Chai...

  3. What bank was it? I had the same thing happen to me when I lived in Surin province about 20 years ago. If I remember correctly after all this time somebody used an ATM in Bangkok with my Lloyd's and Barclays debit cards whilst I was in Surin with the cards in my wallet.

I called both banks' fraud line in UK immediately and got the money back within a month...

That's one of the very common medicines that I take. When I started on it I asked around at many pharmacies here, and Fascino was by far the cheapest even without the discount card.

I have never paid anything for my discount card. Dont know why not.

I mentioned earlier that I took my Fascino receipt to a local pharmacy and they agreed to charge the same price. I am going there tomorrow to see if the agreement still stands, if not then I'll jump on the Baht bus to Fascino. I got my discount card "free" too as my first purchase was over a predetermined amount.Unfortunately I have forgotten what it was...

Regarding my visit to the pharmacy at Big C  today. Neither of the 2 people serving was the bloke I see serving in there regularly when I have walked passed previously and they might have been "trying it on" but that's up to them....

Thanks for the reply and hopefully it'll serve as a warning to others that they should at least carry some form of a passport with valid permission at all times.

I don't need any further proof that Thai jails are NoT inviting.

Yup! That's why I always post it on threads like these. I don't care admitting my stupidity if it helps others  ...!!

Saw 5l Mont Clair in Friendship today for 1490 baht which is almost the same as i was paying for 10l from Tesco, a 100% increase !!

I am going through a one week post Songkran de-tox but will be buying Castle Creek next Friday. I'll check out the prices of Mont Clair whilst there...

  7. I shall hopefully be using it in the next couple of weeks when booking a table for 4 in The Kitchen on second road so I'll let you know how it went. I shall be booking early in the day for 50% discount and we'll be ordering a mix of farang and thai food.. I've eaten there before and have no complaints about the food or service and they do bottles of wine at reasonable prices..

Unless, of course, somebody reports on here that it's a load of borrocks ....

if you dont mind me asking, what did you do to end up there in 97'?

I was being a naughty little boy in Patpong and got lifted (which was all sorted out) - but then I was taken to IDC because I didn't have my passport with me...It took 3 weeks for the Embassy to enter my apartment and get it back to show I was legal...

"Blair is Britain's PM not englands"

OOPS!  Tony Blair had his 10 years of infamy as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom between 1997 and 2007. He still thinks he's relevant in his Major attempts to derail the wobbly Brexit plans by Brown-nosing the E.U., and which May come to pass.

All well and good but mine was a one sided conversation with a prison guard and not a point for clarification on Jeremy Paxman show.........Hmmmm maybe there are similarities after all.....

If Thailand keeps arresting these undesirable  visitors at the current rate, I think in another 300 years most of the present ones will be gone.

    Undesirable?

How many illegal workers are there that will work for next to bugger all for doing jobs that nobody else will do for the same pay.... i.e. less than 300 baht a day!!

Or by undesirables are you referring to criminals that can well afford a passport, visa and money in the bank that will never be caught by such "raids"...
