I think after 5 days she can pay to do another test to potentially end home quarantine early, doing the 'Test to release' option.

    Check this link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-test-to-release-for-international-travel

As for getting vaccinated in the UK - it should be no problem at all. Check this out: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/visiting-or-moving-to-england/visitors-from-outside-the-european-economic-area-eea/

But to be fully vaccinated she will need to obviously remain in UK until she get the 2nd dose (time between doses will depend on vaccine). And then wait 14 days after 2nd dose before being considered fully vaccinated.

    Good luck

    Thank you. Most helpful

As of Monday 11th - Thailand was no longer on the UK Red lost.

Your Wife can travel to the UK but has to quarantine at your home (or place you are staying) for 10 days.

    There also some other requirements

    - Pre-flight PCR

    - Pre-flight Passenger locator form

    - Book (and take) Arrival Day 2 and Day 8 PCR tests (try Randox.com)

Thank you. I am aware of that but I am hoping when she is there she can get vaccinated. D you have any knowledge of how she can do that?

  4. I registered on August 1st and received an email yesterday at 2pm August 23 informing me that I should go to have my injection today August 24 from 8.30am. Unfortunately the hospital was not named and so I sent an email asking where and at 5pm got the reply Hua Hin hospital. Been today vaccinated with Pfizer and my next appointment is 16th September

Well, today is the 11th and Minister Anutin said the approved persons on expatvac should be getting a notice by now.

Have any of you who received an approved notice via e-mail received further instructions?  I've been watching my e-mail and SMS like a hawk but no joy.

It’s now Friday the 13th. I registered on Sunday was accepted but I have heard nothing since. I am over 70 living in Hua Hin

I'm so glad I didn't wait for these bozos to act.

I get my second shot in Arizona tomorrow.

That’s what I am thinking of doing since I have family in Arizona. Are you staying there now or did you fly there especially to get the jabs?

transferwise dude, it's cheap, and done in 30sec in weekdays, 48h over the week-end

might have to start with 1,000 EUR transfer first, big transfer might be blocked. Do 1,000 every days over 2 months.

I use Transfer Wise from England and regularly transfer £5000. I don’t know if they have a limit. First time of using I transferred £1000 to be sure it was safe. You will have to indicate what the money is for with general headings given to help you

  8. At my age and stage of life I will go back to the UK sometime soon. I love it here and have been here on and off for 20 years. The people the food and the weather are all wonderful. Back in England I would get a big increase on my pension payments (almost double) be covered health wise for free and go visit family friends and places I have not seen for many years. Having said that if I was younger and had to go somewhere other than Thailand it would be Arizona in the USA or Antiqua

All of it, it's for a party on Boxing Day.

Well if you are having a party for at least 10 people then the 4,000 baht is ok   For me we are two people and so a turkey would be wasted even if some was used for cold sandwich or salad and some for a curry
