That may of been stated at one immigration office but there is no written rule for it.

Every office has their own policies about TM30 reporting. Many state you only need to do a report if you change addresses.

Is that not the TM28 form? When addresses change

    • Forms for Aliens to Notify their Change of Address or Stay in a Province for more than 24 hours (TM.28)
    • Notification Form for House Master, Owner or the Possessor of the Residence where Aliens have stayed (TM.30)

If I am right, the information regarding registration and notification is in law articles 37 and 38.

That is just the law, as you already said every office has their own policy.

So they are not following the written rules. ???? Good, easier. CW not need them, until..

A re-entry permit is only valid until the permit to stay it issued for ends. For example if you have a 90 day entry it would end on the date that 90 days ends. A re-entry permit adds no days to your current stay.

What if that permit to stay, which is 90 days to start with is extended with 90 days and consequently having 4x90 = 360 days before it can't be extended, thus needing to leave the Kingdom and obtain a new visa.

Is the re-entry stamp covering this whole 360 days or only in one of these 90 days.

    Alright so quick update:

I was allowed to go to any destination I want which was very surprising since other 2 guys in the room (1 more joined few hours ago) have to go back to the same exact destination. One of them will have his flight costs covered by AirAsia though.

I booked return flight with AirAsia to KL and back to Phuket.

Thank you for all the replies from people trying to help and providing support. I appreciate it.

Could you also answer 4 questions about KL visa issuing process? (My first time there)

    1. Do they require any other documents than:

    - application form

    - passport

    - copy passport

    - flight in and out of Thailand

    - proof of accommodation in Thailand?

Just the same as any other Embassy, but make sure copy everything twice just in case something goes wrong like bad signature or paper ripping.

There is no copy shop just around the corner of the embassy in KL.

For the exact requirement, check online.

    2. Where on the KL airport or close to embassy can I make photos and document prints?

Not far from the embassy, on the same road. Ampang Mall.   BUT.... they are demolishing this mall, or already done that, a pity as it was one of the oldest and original mall in KL.

Anyway, here you can make photo and copies.

Not sure if it is gone yet. Maybe something new now, but surely around there you can find shop for photo and copy. (and exhange).

Another exchange, for a good rate, is on KL Sentral and on the JLN Bukit Bintang, near the pavilion (next to mcdonalds)

If you are around Bintang, you can make photo here to in one of those 'hidden' malls, near the AirAsia station (BTS look-a-like). Look for 'Sungei Wang'.

    3. I also found this on their website

To ensure that clear and precise information is given, visa enquiry can only be made through email at [email protected].

I'm not sure what they mean. I already booked appointment for tomorrow 10.20-10.50.

    4. And how much do I need in THB to show officer in KL when crossing immigration in case he/she asks?

  4. 3 hours ago, ubonjoe said:

It is 3800 baht for a multiple entry re-entry permit or 1000 baht for single. If you do not have a TM8 form, photos and etc there is a service charge of 200 baht for them to do them.

DM is now charging 200 baht as well if you don't have the above.

So definitely better than trying to get a multi entry visa at the embassy, just single and ask the multi re-entry stamp on the first depart in the visa term.

The price is around the same.

Just still wondering the validity of the stamp in conjunction the added extensions on the visa, already asked in this thread.

  5. How long is the re-entry (especially the multi) valid?

Does it cover each future extension of the current visa?

    Example:

Come to Thailand on NON-O visa, valdid for 90 days.

After one month, travel to one of the neighbouring countries,

obtaining a Multi Re-entry stamp at the airport.

Come back from travel, fine, the stamp let you in on the same visa.

After 2 months, you go to the immigration for extension of your visa,

come back one month later for the stamp.

A week after that, go travel abroad again.

The multi-re-entry stamp still in action? (untill the visa get their maximum extension count, three times)

Thanks for the input so far everybody. A question: what is the difference between me leaving ASAP (say, tomorrow) and on the 23rd? Aside from the larger total fine on the 23rd and the risk of being caught while out and about in BKK, I get that. I won't get a ban unless the overstay is 90 days or longer. Asking because I have a place paid up until the 23rd, so the daily fine doesn't make a lot of difference to me — I'd have to pay the same 500 or more for accommodation in the country I'm going to next.

You have more change to be arrested and deported walking around for five more days, it only takes one officer and his eye on you.

Not sure where people are getting the 90 reporting and bank book check tied together from. I have seen no mention of it from immigration.

People were given a date to show their bank book 3 months after they applied for their extension at Jomtien immigration.

If the date for for the 90 reporting is on the 15th and showing bankbook on the 16th, woud you go on these date subsequently?
I have to do the 90 reporting and I do that on the same day of the application for extension, which is every 90 days too. The dates are rarely the same.

One thing; never exceed the extension date, but the reporting can done one week after the date without harm.

That should  of been written to say a one year extension of stay can be applied for at a immigration office.

Try and find any info about a non-as visa on the immigration website. https://www.immigration.go.th/index

Quoted many times - but they will not issue you one at Chang Wattana.  Consulate-site info is notoriously bad.

As two other posters said; that information on the mfa.go.th is obsolete and misleading.

I am not able to edit/change my post, quoting it instead with the note to really do your homework and not going blind on just one website, even if it is a government runned one.

A dully rule of thumb: application and/or change of visa is done outside Thailand and extensions can be granted inside Thailand up to one year after arrival.

You cannot get a 0-A visa in Thailand.

You can get a 12 month extension of stay if you arrive with a Non Imm Visa.

Immigration Offices all over Thailand. Not only Bangkok.

Probably meant "get a 1 year extension" - more easily do-able starting with a single-entry Non-O (90-day permitted-stay stamp which doesn't require medical, police, etc) than starting with a Tourist entry - though not available everywhere (cannot get in USA any more, not sure about the NL).

Thanks, I made an appointment with GGD.

    VOG I know

The option of O- visa to O-A visa is not a good choice for me. I do not want to stay in Bangkok longer as 1 day.

Still.. I would first contact the Thai embassy in the Netherlands before you take actions for the VOG and Medical Indication. Because the following text, which comes from a lawyer website, says: (and I found this checked the same at the official website of the embassies.)

    note the bold text

    Thailand Retirement Visa

    Citizens of Netherlands

The Thai retirement visa for citizens of Netherlands is issued to applicants who wish to visit and retire in the Kingdom of Thailand.

Please note that you must first obtain a 90-day visa or a 1 year non-immigrant O visa from your home country or country of residence prior to your application for the Thai Retirement visa.

    Retirement Visa Qualifications

    1. Applicant must be 50 years of age or over.
    2. Must not have any criminal history and can travel to Thailand.
    3. Must meet the financial requirement:
      • Security deposit of THB 800,000 in a Thai bank account for 2 months prior to the visa application; or
      • Monthly income or pension of at least THB 65,000. An affidavit from the foreigner embassy or consulate has to be obtained as proof of the income; or
      • Combination of the Thai bank account and yearly income - with the total of 800,000 THB.

Yep. What I meant was first come with non-0 which indeed doesn't need all these extra forms. And then you can prepare for the long stay in Thailand, opening bank book, deposit the required ammount, getting the forms from the doctor and police if needed. Then you can go back to your own country or a nearest one like Malaysia and then there apply for a non OA visa.

Ofcourse, as you said first "get a 1 year extension" on the non O.

But as he said he will immediately try to get a OA visa, so I softly assume he already did his preparation in Thailand.

ps. The embassy in Netherlands still have the tourist visa 60 day, I got one years years ago and they still offer it. A friend of mine use one last year.

    Rgds,

  13. If you really want do the non OA in Netherlands instead of non O

first and then change it here in Thailand then...

Perhaps a phonecall to the GGD would be of any help.

Went there for the vaccins (yellow fever, and a package DKTP)

on the same day as visiting the embassy (in Amsterdam).

Vaccins was my own choice, in the metropool you not need it

but for the jungle it is advised.

Anyway, the ggd should have the medical certificates. Ask them.

    Rgds,

  14. Hoi Marius

If you apply abroad for a non OA visa you need a doctor certificate and a police report (soort van VOG).

You better get a non o visa, and change it here in Thailand to a non OA.

For a non O these documents are not required at the embassy if my memory serve me right.

Nb. The doctor certificate in Thailand cost about 100-120 THB. It is needed for like the driving license and for the workpermit

What you can do, if you eventually go to the 'huisarts' doctor, ask him/her to fill, sign and stamp in the form (I give a link to it) in twofold just in case. http://www.thaiconsulatela.org/pdf/medical_certificate.pdf which is in both english and thai.

And 'VOG', then that would be sufficent to get a non OA.

The cost 41.35 euro for the VOG and the doctorvisit depends on your choice.

Try Malaysia where it's +++, service charge, luxury tax ,VAT sad.png

But in KL the most of the rental would drop the last + for you, and simply not register you in the system.

And the first two + are neogitable, you can say I stay 3 days and pay the room rate now, for both convenient to use round numbers. Room rate 50. Give them 150 instead of 3x56.

  16. Depends on your 'needs'.

I went for a brandless quality one now. It is a sturdy thin frame and glasses from real glass and a special layer against glares. Bought at Thai private store (you see them everywhere, waen ta, mostly small shops) it was done the same day just wait 30 minutes, cost me 600b. (promotional price)

Before that I had a VIS brand from Charoen, which is a chain store found everywhere, this was sturdy too with big frame, and double layers (one that darkens in the sun). Bought that one for about 2800 thb and had too wait 4 days for pickup the ready glasses.

I lost that one years ago wilst jumping in the northern ocean, and then I used different cheap glasses which are ranging from 80-120 thb each. From either Village markets, Big C or Lotus.

They break easy at the joint, but good temporary fix and a lot of styles to choose from and it wouldn't hurt you(r pocket).

If you have two different eyes, you should buy two of them and ask them pop one glass out from one and fix it in the other.

My eyes are around -2.25 both.

Overall, I am happy with the glasses from the small local shops.

    Rgds,

  17. I did the report online, for the second time, which led me all the way trough to the last page (4) and I have a bar code.

This was done on the 7th of february.

I didn't get any confirmation till now, are we supposed to get one?

If not, how are we updated till when the next report date is due?

I went to the immigration today, have to be there for the extension anyway, and asked them.

Said, I have to fill in the form 47 and come back when the visa extension is granted.

Some info: I have to extend my visa every 90 days, the date lies around the same as the 90 days report date.

I just want to skip the queue at the report and tried the online way.

Is the online report working if the visa date is closing too?

When I did the Form 47 in personal, I get a new date stamped on a paper with a extra -NOTE- stamp that the visa(extension) is due before the report date.

    Perhaps this fails online?

Any experience and or comments on this?

The first (failed) attempt to fill the 90 days report was still in the time the (then buggy) online procedure only worked on Explorer, and I was using a Fox.

    Rgds,

  18. The Immigration Officer at the border has your Arrival Paper. In your passport you should have the Departure Paper.

For the 90 days notification, and visa things like extensions if you need do that,  you need the number that is on the Arrival/Departure card.

The best is to take a copy or photo right the first day you are in Thailand and keep it somewhere.

In that case you still know the number on the paper. This paper is for when you leave the country at any border.

    But..

You can go to the immigration office, and tell them you lost it. Maybe they can reveal an old copy, so the number is then known, because the 90 days report still need to be done.

This paper, the 90 days report bill, you also have to keep with you.

Mine (90 days report) was stapled together with the Departure Paper.

Still, you need to have a new Departure Paper, this you can get at the airport/border/immigration office.

Some, depends on the officer, want you get a police report. Easy to do, and at no cost.

    Rgds,
