The one insurmountable problem they have is there is no where else to park, no planning, no forethought & sheer greed has led to every spare m of land being built on with no thought for the future, add to that no decent "public transportation" they are fighting a losing battle - of their own making!

where are the TRAMS going to operate....??

Lots of people walk on the roadway because sidewalks on the east side of beach road are too narrow for the volume of pedestrians. Also the sidewalk is blocked by poles, telephone booths, and vendors and their tables displaying their goods.

and people sat on mats....scoffing thai food and drinking !!

it's a definite thing on a Sunday, no question

i'd always assumed for most of them this is their party/drinking day

Sundays I refuse to use the bike, car only, as they drive like utter lunatics

they drive like it SEVEN DAYS not just Sundays !!!

  5. and just who is going to enforce "no parking"

I see loads of vehicles parked where red and white paint is, especially opposite a U turn. They park and not allow free flow of traffic, causing problems.

Never see any coppers to book them never ever.

Perhaps a new thing should be brought in, A SQUAD (and a big SQUAD) of TRAFFIC WARDENS....like we have in the Uk..be employed to book motorbikes with illegible rear number plates, and other vehicles that HAVE NO TAX/Insurance stickers on the left hansdide of windscreen.

Also to book all those that DOUBLE PARK...and just put their hazard warning lights on.

These light are NOT for this purpose.....but Thais do NOT KNOW THIS !!

  6. THERE is a saying "one only gets what one pays for" ever heard of it??

in May I posted a number of docs to the Uk....cost 1504 baht via Fedex....they arrived in 5 days....6000 miles away ....so I can not complain except for the price...

Sometimes mail gets held up due to Customs....

also depends on how god sorting office is in the country to which one has posted to??!!

Daft question , but apart from some odd sentimental value, why would you want to keep the old one  ?

because a deposit is paid when one gets the original, I THINK....there fore empty one needs filling !!!!

I have passed the technic control for the renewing of my assurance and tax sticker

just after the change of the tyres and nobody in the station have noticed the 2 front

    tyres on the bike.

I don't really know what are the points controled but this control seems to be a joke.

what kinda assurance does one get for a bike??

Assured that "one will not be in an accident"????

Come on it's hardly an everyday occurrence is it?  I don't remember ever hearing about hail in Bangkok in all the time I've lived here.

So I would say it is unusual.

i have never seen HAIL down here in Patts/jomtien in 10 yrs I have been here. So i would say very unusual in a temperate country.

Have heard they get some in chiang mai from time to time.....

what can we expect when there are no decent drains, most are either full of garbage or have been back filled(if dirt) to increase the owners area or too make an illegal access points to do u turns or to turn into streets/houses but with no drain pipes used under them. This happens all over Thailand, drainage is simply not a big part of road building here, flooding occurs constantly when we get heavy rain and they refuse to do anything about it.

They do.....do something about it.....they wait and wait until the water drains away.....UNTIL THE NEXT RAINSTORM

And in city hall they sit scrathing their heads THINKING THINKING !!!
