Unfortunately there is a problem with the electrical system on the bike. The battery drains when it is left sitting too long but for some reason nobody can track down the problem. My guess is that the anti-theft system was not wired correctly.

He recently bought a new battery so I was trying to protect his investment. Probably would have been easier to just disconnect the battery.

As said proof of foreign transfer will be required if change of entry status required (as it seems is your plan).  For a large transfer see no reason to try and avoid the small cost of normal SWIFT bank to bank transfer fee as that will be a set amount so not a large percentage of 800k.  The money should be sent as USD  (very poor exchange rate if done outside Thailand) and the conversion to baht will take place at the receiving Thai bank (max cost 500 baht).

You are aware the financial requirements in Thailand do not apply if you obtain a non-immigrant O-A visa from Thailand Consulate prior to travel here?  Money can stay in US for one (or almost 2 years) before there would be a requirement to show funds here.  Yes there is a police report and medical certificate required but for most people these are minor if they have time for advance planning and there would not be any need for change of status once here as at entry you would get a 1 year stay.

Changed from VOA to non-imm. Did not have to show funds came from abroad.

It highlights the amount that HD are overpricing their products in Thailand. Other imports are nowhere near 2.5 times the price so it appears HD are fleecing their customers. If you are considering one of their bikes in Thailand, it’s useful to know you are getting ripped off.

Why is it NOT relevant? Unless you are a brand loyal fanboy that is happy to get screwed by the HD corporation because you love the HD image.

Stop and think about it. Do you rally think these HD guys are pricing them high to scam buyers. If they sold them for less they would make more sales which equals more profit, not just on the original sale but on all the other products related to the bikes.

I'm a new member and this is my first post.  I live very near the Historical park with my wifes family and I'm definitely missing a little farang conversation and I also like to play card games or practically anything.  Help.

Short drive to Phitsanulok, lots of ex-pats.

  7. Here's my recipe, adapted from my white loaf recipe.

I use a Kenwood Chef food mixer with a dough hook for kneading. If you knead by hand you'll have to do it for around 10mins.

250 gms Wholemeal flour (From Foodland 25bht per 500gms) it's in a small brown bag, imported from Australia.

250 gms Bread flour (Swan brand, available everywhere 35 bht per kilo)

    7 gms quick acting yeast

    2 tsps salt

3 tbsps oil (Veg or olive) or melted butter

    400-500 ml warm water

Place everything apart from the water in a bowl and mix together.

Add most of the water and mix together until it forms a ball (You may need to add some more water)

Knead the dough for around 5mins (If using a mixer)

Form the dough into a ball and place on a floured baking sheet.

Cover with a tea towel and leave somewhere warm until it's doubled in size (About an hour)

Sprinkle tap water over the loaf and sprinkle some oats on top. Sprinkle with water again (This makes a good crust).

Place in a pre heated oven 220c for 30 mins.

Take out and leave on a rack to cool.

You'll notice I don't knock the dough back after the first rise and let it rise for a second time. I find it's not necessary. Another thing, I've found that if the dough is too wet it doesn't hold it's shape and you get a flatter loaf.

This recipe is pretty foolproof, and has never let me down.

    Good luck.

    What about sugar or honey?
