I dont know why people have so much trouble understanding their internet speed.

Internet speed is sold around people not really understanding what they need or how it works. Eventually everyone will catch up and the 'super fast' sales pitches will be less effective.

People should consider how much demand is placed on their home internet before paying for premium services.

Internet speed testing should be added to the 'need for perfection' list in OCD documents.

So why did you pay the extra for an MG 1100 if it were a hoodwinker..?....

Interesting reading and videos on YouTube for these old cars.

I know nothing about these 1100 cars but a custom Google search shows the MG version of the car to have 2 x carburetor, large inlet valve cylinder head, pressed steel exhaust manifold and higher profile cam. Bits from the engine were popular with tuners of early mini cars.

  3. And some more for the mix . .

Back in WW2 the Yanks were having problems with lighting blowing up bomb storage units and needed a way to dump natures huge electrical pulses before they got into the TNT.

Herbert Ufer observed that the high PH of concrete would provide a ready supply of ions and in turn provide a better electrical ground than almost any type of soil. Ufer also found that the soil around the concrete became doped and the rise in pH caused the overall impedance of the soil itself to be reduced. The concrete enclosures also increases the surface area of the connection between the grounding conductor and the surrounding soil further helping to reduce overall impedance of the connection.

  4. My dealings with Electrolux Thailand was as you imagine communicating with aliens on another planet would be. Parts for my appliance were not in Thailand but available at ridiculous cost and needed to be ordered from Europe.

I would give a no brand AC priority over anything Electrofux had on offer.

Stick with well known brands who have decent support and large stocks of parts available nationwide. Daikin has already been mentioned, Mitsubishi is another.

  5. That size area might be better served with something a little more substantial in the pressure dept and maybe consider future additions.

The photos below shows a small 4 zone 1 inch sprinkler setup (2 spare zones) and controller that currently serves two sprinkler lines watering mostly perimeter hedges. One approx 80M the other over 100M. Hedges are watered from screw in nozzles on lines off the main 1 inch lines which run mostly full distance.

Tank is 2500 L on well water with sediment filter to protect sprinkler nozzles.  Pump is a standard 1hp centrifugal available everywhere in many different flavours. Pump is called by the zone controller when required.

I guess I am going to have to pull the pump out and disassemble it to find the problem. I was hoping I could avoid this.

If you do not want to send it to Venz.

Before dismantling you need to check for correct supply voltage and motor windings using a meter.

If these are ok remove the pump front cover to inspect for debris around the impeller. If non found you can then remove the impeller to expose ceramic seal and bearing.

  7. Two check before moving forward.

Check motor is free to rotate using the fan blades behind end cover.

Check there is correct voltage reaching the pump. Example - Ants under a pressure switch contacts can cause intermittent or low voltage.

Photo - Similar installation using Venz VM100 on shallow bore.

Really? so the number of strands have nothing to do with amperage, you obviously know far more than I picked up in my fifty years of welding, "flexibility" what nonsense, sure you will be able to back up that statement?

Its not really fair to say flexibility is nonsense as multi-strand cables are more flexible and resistant to metal fatigue.

A 7 strand 25mm cable would be a terrible choice for feeding the head of a welding robot with 25mm 500 strand having a much better chance of survival.

If the strands are equal in cross section area then adding more strands will increase the current carrying capacity. If the number of strands remains constant then strand CSA can be increased to increase capacity.

The photo below shows the conductors of a 35mm multi-strand cable made up of groups twisted together. Current carrying capacity for these cables is often increased through a range by adding more bundles of strands with the same CSA.

Also interesting that they are even more stringent in what they will allow a cable to carry than the UK is.  I believe in the UK the standard rating for 2.5mm cable is 20amps and that even 32 amps is possible on a ring main.

Length is considered when specifying wide range current carrying capacity.

A UK 2.5mm ring with 32A protection will have a length limit for single 2.5mm spurs set by the maximum area a ring circuit is allowed to service. I believe this to be 100 m2

If somebody have an experience with that model of water pump (Hitachi Turbine Water Pump TM-60L) - please share your experience with this pump according to your home size.

Regenerative turbine house pumps are mostly low flow high head. I have no experience of the Hitachi TM-60L but looking at the specification it seems they have designed a pump to provide higher flow rate with reduced noise. There will be a pressure compromise and suggest you study the working pressures of all models against your requirements. WM-P250GX2 is a good all round pump in both compact and tank models. Mitsubishi compact pumps go one step further with pressure and flow control to help reduce cycles.
