In my opinion and after having a Thai septic system with the large black tank as described installed,  I think the grey water thing is a myth.  I have never seen grey water in over 7 years in my drains and since my entire development has the same system feeding into the main mooban drainage system, no grey water there either

So far spent 1,200 THB to have the tank emptied after 4 years, and 700 THB recently so I am not worried whether or not the system works

There certainly is no Thai agency that is going to come check to insure I am not polluting,  unlike the US,  where the local health department checks every year

    Grey water a myth?

Our rent rooms separate the grey water and septic run off with some of the grey water used for garden irrigation. Grey water from the laundry area and rooms would most likely kill or reduce the septic system efficiency if allowed to enter the septic line.

The local authority has checked how we handle waste water before allowing it to enter city drains.

Below is a typical home system separating grey water from septic. Its a good idea because the grey water lines in this example often contain bleach and detergent from laundry machines.

  2. I don't have much time to study the photo at the moment but I can see the igniter blower cables were originally cut and redundant which leads me to believe the blower was switched on with the main cook timer and went off along with the burners when the door was opened. Blower induction motor was controlled via contactor and start/run capacitor.

    PS

The oven thermostat with capillary tube ??

  3. WARNING - Gas oven controls should only be serviced or re-worked by a competent person who understands the automatic ignition system and safety features.

You need to know the operation procedure of the oven and it two gas valve sets and blowers to properly determine how the controls should be wired. I guess there are two levels of bake in a single zone.

Some ovens have one blower fan shared by all gas valves via a relay, others have separate blowers for each gas valve zone wired directly to the igniters.

I recognise the igniter types from a Ying Ding brand X bread oven we repaired a while back which only had one set of gas valves.

    It operated as follows :-

A bake timer and 'on' button powered the process.

The igniter received power (220v) from the temperature controller when heat required.

Igniter starts blower fan via a contactor, opens pilot gas valve (24v), sends high voltage to the ignition electrodes and then uses flame rectification to detect flame present via the ignition electrode ground wire. Main gas valve opens (24v) when flame detected. Indicators will show flame fail or flame good.

A separate timer operated the water misting valve directly via separate on/off switch.

  4. Done all the cyclone and super filter nonsense then took some advice from a forum post and purchased the Hitachi CV-BM16 cloth bag VAC plus two spare cloth bags.

Excellent powerful old style VAC with no fancy controls or gimmicks. Around 1800 Baht.

Not recommended for the lazy, emptying takes a little effort.

I have just had a new AC unit fitted to replace the old one, it is brand new, cost only 5000 Baht.

It's make is Turbo Cool, and has Green Industry at the far left hand side. Anyone ever heard of this

make and can tell me anything about it?

Popular with the outdoor unit collectors - Shenzhen pedigree.
Not sure about spare part support.

Cheap way to replace a kaput indoor unit and extend the life of AC system if outdoor unit and compressor have some life left.

  6. MSG - No

I have been cooking BIR food for many years and its taken a long time to perfect favorite dishes found during my time in the UK. Balti was the most difficult.

Base gravy is an essential part of fast high heat BIR cooking with mixed powders and masalas.

The alternative is to follow the more time consuming traditional Indian cooking methods. Many example on the Tube and can produce delicious results.

All ingredients can be found in Thailand except a few special pastes and powders produced only in the UK.

Essential base gravy made in Thailand then frozen in two portion bags.

    Final result finished off outside.

    All very interesting

BUT what is the actual technology these days to stop the heads from crashing

Modern hard drives will have facility to place heads on a parking ramp if power is lost. If the drive fails to do this there is a good chance the head will crash into the platter when the air cushion disappears.

    Yup, I asked them.

Although the support chap was very helpful in telling me that my modem wouldn't work with my inverters (got a partial refund on the modem from AliExpress) and selling me the right unit for a good price I've not had much luck in getting anything really useful out of them. At least not yet ????

Part of the problem now is that the modem links directly to the Kaideng servers (once it's set up), your App or browser then talks to the servers.

Another git-hub user has suggested the project owner has communication in Chinese with KaiDeng Co and is probably the best place to grab more info.

I have a contact address for project owner if you are interested in going deeper.

Out of personal interest I have asked around for some info on the WVC wireless to modem data and whats available locally outside of messages being sent to a broker.

Cant find any good technical info on the various modems for WVC devices. Its all buried in the Chinese dark web.

It's plain http so sniffing is an option, just not sure how enthusiastic I am. I could just dump excess power and make some hot water (need to stop exporting when the meter reader might notice).

WVC wireless modem protocol and micro inverter flow for Node-Red

    https://github.com/invite-frey/wvc-inverter

If this was used to prevent export, how would you provide real time meter reading for the limit control to function.

These cheap Chinese meters look interesting.

What data do they provide and how often do they send?

    SDM Smart meters

Voltage, current, frequency and several power values are stored in registers which can be queried over a stable RS485 using modbus protocol. How often data is requested and how its used is down to the device or software sending the requests.

A popular method to handle this type of data is through the open source Node-RED tool installed on a low power single board computer.

Good luck with the forum search !!

I tried to find a thread that I started about 3 weeks ago, gave up the search, even using the exact thread title didn’t find it !!

Use the Google index search terms site:forum.thaivisa.com

TV does not have the resources to make a powerful search.

    Example..

I still very much oppose this half hearted and absolute dangerous MEN connection in Thailand.

This type of connection is wrong to use, as there is no reliable ground wire comming in to the house!

The ground rod is normally just inserted in the soil (if you’re lucky) and is not able to carry the current to blow a fuse.

In the scenario that the incoming neutral wire is cut somewhere, all what you belive ”grounded” appliances will carry live 220V on their cabinets, if the ground rod current don’t blow a fuse

Even the water heater ground in your bathroom will be live.

(Also the neutral and ground is interchanged on the outlet in the drawing)

By ground coming into the house I am sure you mean the poor standard of ground provided by local rods.

Considering Thailand's poor standards coupled with the fact that implementation of TNC-S requires good standards, I can fully understand your concerns. Don't bother yourself with the knowledge bullying, your good intentions are appreciated by some.

As a knowledgeable person you do have the advantage of being able to alter your supply arrangement if not happy with the supply network outside of your property.
