At the Thai Embassy in HK a few years ago, they wanted this:
NON-IMMIGRANT VISA-O (THAI SPOUSE)
Required documents are:
1. One completed and signed visa application form
2. One recent passport-sized photograph (3.5 x 4.5cm)
3. Passport (valid for no less than 6 months)
4. Copy of Airline ticket or confirmation slip with flight number date of entry
5. Copy of Marriage Certificate, Passport and Identity Card of Thai spouse
(Copies of documents must be signed by Thai Spouse)
6. Letter from Thai spouse
7. Bank Statement (at least 400,000 Baht) - must be able to show it in the Thai bank for 3 months or more. -
The suggestion to use Chaengwattana and use a fake address (condo owners Bangkok address) wouldn't work. As you may recall when you applied for the visa, immigration officials wanted proof of residence (photos etc) plus they should have visited your home as well. Using a fake address is not a solution and is just cheating the system and making it harder for people that follow the immigration rules. Please sort it out legally or give up your marriage visa.

Convection combo ovens are nice. Bit small though.

Technically, yes. The owner must submit the form. Otherwise, in the unlikely event that the immigration authorities pay a visit, he will be fined 2000 or more. I think more depending on length of time. It's also negotiable.

Better to bum off of someone else's business that meets capital requirements, or a law firm.
What is the passport nationality of the OP?
Canadian.
So it would be legal for me to find a farang who has the necessary thai - farang employee ratio, and have him hire me? He'd then pay me, pay for social security or whatever, and I'd compensate the farang for providing this service?
Sounds legal to me, but probably shady.. as there are job placement agencies where I come from where you pay for a job.
That can work if you know someone with a large enough company, paid up cap and employees. Know that the process for him to get the WP for you is onerous. Stacks of VAT returns, annual reports, tax returns etc need to be provided. He would have to be a very good friend indeed.

You will also need a company bank account, a tax I'd both personal and corporate, you will have to do monthly vat returns, annual audits, annual reports, annual tax submissions. I don't know where your income derives from, but if overseas you will have to account for 15% withholding tax on each invoice etc. my information may not be complete because as I said, it's been a few years since I ran a company here, but check these out. A lawyer can give you better advice than me though. Just a heads up that it's not a simple matter of hiring four ghosts.

There is also the matter of registered and paid up capital, which if memory serves, is 2 million baht per work permit. That can be registered initially but must be shown as paid up within a year. Things may have changed since I last set up a company but you should look into the requirements on capital as well.

Perhaps a single family home if lived in by the owner. No investment or commercial property.
Agree. Too many foreign money laundering operations going here. One nationality in particular.

"Panitharn Watanayakkorn, an advisor to Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, said the authorities have gathered a lot of information and evidences related to the car bomb attack at the Central Samui department store late Friday night..."
The deputy advisor sure works quick....
I have a question though, if the attackers wanted to sabotage peace and order of the country why would they wait 22h30 when the food court and most shops are closed?
Like the bombing in Bangkok, the intent was not to kill people but to frighten people and destabilise the peace. Keep in mind that just recently, the Govt lifted martial law and indicators are that things are returning to normal. Apparently, tourism figures are back up, for example.

I've been getting emails lately from a "pump-and-dump" stock scammer with the domain name of assetallocation.biz. Even though I called him out on his game, he keeps emailing me regardless. Scum.

From my perspective, this shows how dangerous flying in the Orient can be. Had he been a terrorist he could have easily have stowed a bomb in the wheel well!!! Security is definatly lacking at the airport in question!
Been watching too much mainstream media mate ;-)

Ya because big bikes cause all the major road accident deaths. Where do these muppets get these ideas?

A drunk Indian tourist with 50K in his pocket staggering down beach road? Where were the ladyboys? They must be so upset having not been there for the take down.

For American offshore workers, the guy who is sleeping with your wife/gf while you are away at work earning the money, has a name. His name is Jody.
RIP to the poor man.

Sound like she was under the influence of some drugs cocktail, either that or that she's
a deranged sort.... in this case the loony bin is beaconing to her....
As one of TV's finest I weight in with the following succinct analysis: She caught husband/BF with his hand in the Pattaya cookie jar and went bonkers
There it is, case closed. Now back to Facebook.

Finally, something exciting happens on my birthday. My favorite freelancer just rang me to tell me she's going back to the province ('no customer') and I'm wondering how I'm going to endure Pnomh Penh during the hottest month of the year, but an eclipse on your birthday has to be a good sign, right fellas ? Er, fellas ?
<sound of chirping crickets>
You may want to listen to an old Bonnie Tyler song then.

A good effort but unfortunately, this will be likened to cutting the heads of a Hydra.

They have been sold to the Chinese. Almost certainly.
"In Taiwan, a bowl of tiger penis soup (to boost virility) goes for $320, and a pair of eyes (to fight epilepsy and malaria) for $170. Powdered tiger humerus bone (for treating ulcers rheumatism and typhoid) brings up to $1,450 lb. in Seoul."

Seems to me that this Act seems to weaken the power of the BIB more than anything.

Also heard that as of today, they are giving out 1 year tourist visas. Interesting.

Going for the third annual time waster trip tomorrow. Yes, Christmas Day. Hoping for less crowds although I am sure that the Chinese will make up the difference. Anyhow, I have heard now that they are asking for proof of income from overseas. Has anyone heard of this? I currently work in the Middle East and get paid there so I am not sure what they want. Pay slips maybe? Anyhow, I will update the latest doc requirements tomorrow for the renewals.
