Recently arrived on Thai. 475 seemed ok and almost last minute. Checked in 24 before and almost everything booked seatwise so I managed to get an upstairs seat.
Turned up early and enquired about exit rows. I was told to go to the ticket office. So I did and the reply was that the flight was full. I asked how to do it in the future and told to arrive early. I then said that I got to terminal 2 three hours before.
So I got on the flight and made my way to the few rows upstairs at the back. Flight full up ?? Hahaha I am not complaining as I and a few others got a an empty row of 4 to sleep on. Nobody in the exit rows
The question is how to get a boarding pass with an exit row on it.
Oh oh and I nearly forgot. It left 90 mins late no explanation no apology food ok and good atmosphere upstairs.

Not using the meter 55555 just get out. Amazing how quickly the taxi stops if you open the door . Yes I have done it in the middle of a junction. It would help if foreign visitors who visit occasionally think that negotiating the price is somehow better than using the meter.

It is 'fiscal suicide' to the not so bright! Why are you handing over anything ? You can buy it (and you don't need to say it is all your partners money - old wives tale No 525)
Land in her name - you own the house - usufruct on the back of the chanote - simples !

ok. I just cannot remember seeing what looks like an agent in your average town in isaan. Maybe I need new specs.

I knew the concept of falang getting into property ownership is like staring into a minefield where fiscal suicide seems entirely possible. In my situation I am handing over a modest amount of dosh to a partner of over 10 years

Ok. Falang cannot buy freehold or ?? Is there such a thing as eatate agents . How is it done.
Also Someone told me to become acquainted with bank staff and see if you can find some bargain repos.

I know this Is a bit cheeky it does anyone know suppliers and installers in si sa ket. The femme tells me she just want one in a bedroom so I guess small ok. But will check the calculation.

The gf has bought herself one of these cheapo social house type houses. Barely the width of one room and no garden etc. It needs air con. I have seen units in Tesco / big c and they seem to start around 15k. I cannot figure out what you get for that money. The unit inside and the compressor outside. ????? Is installation extra or included who does it. Are there any extras. Any thoughts or comments appreciated.

Enter your data here:
This will query the database used by airlines (not KLM specific).
I entered some fictitious data with passport validity of 5 months (travel in June, pp exp in Nov):
"You are ready to go".
If some nervous check-in staff complains, you have to ask for a superior.
Many thanks

I could pay 177 for an emergency passport if I can get an appt in time. The airline ..........Thai of course. The staff at check in work for err Menzies perhaps. No sign of Thai staff around. Thanks for the nice replies

Phew thanks for good replies . Ok it is a few days under the 6 months. To be honest I feel a tad embarrassed.
It is for a thirty day exemption. I have just popped round to t2 and had a word with some of the staff at the check in . The staff looked at the info on screens and saw no issues. I did have look on the embassy website under faqs . FAQ can I travel with less than 6 months and the answer essentially says it is all done to discretion of airline and immigration staff.

Sorry for this and I guess the answer is simple. I am travelling to Thailand soon and just realised my passport is just under 6 months from expiring. Is the 6 month thing enforced and will I get on the plane

The uk based thai lady has it in mind to open a second bank account mainly for me to use for cash transfer for day to day cash access. Yes I know I am asking for problems.
I have tried all sorts of efforts at opening an account of my own or jointly. Has anyone got any thought of which bank has least aggro and charges.
yes we trust each other

Perhaps although I think rillington place might have been used by ludovic Kennedy .

Sooo why did we get rid of the rope in the uk ??? Well the answer might be that we kept hanging the innocent

hello sorry maybe there should be some sort of into as I am new to this forum. I am a regular visitor to the land of smiles. I tend to do things on the cheap but thought I might have a look at car rental for the next visit. I done a bit of searching and the local independents seem to be a fair bit more expensive than the well know international brands.
Anyone got any ideas or recommendations for renting a small economical car. I never understood how renting pick up trucks always seem much cheaper than compact cars.
Also has anyone used or purchased standalone CDW insurance policies to deal with those massive insurance excess rates. Any companies to avoid or dangers to avoid apart from the traffic problems.
