    3. Keep your US credit cards. They usually have much lower limits here and can be more difficult to obtain, especially if you don't have a good job.  Use your US address for billing.  Pay online from your US bank account.

Beware of foreign transaction fees (FTA) on most US credit cards, typically 4%. Before making the plunge, shop around. They're out there - no FTA and no annual fee.

The good part for me is that all my debt are paid off.  I just have to sell the house and quit my job.  I’m so ready.  If you can think of any other tips please let me know.  Thank you.

If your house is debt free, find a good property manager and rent it out. I am netting 30k baht/month. Consider a 10% vacancy per year, 10% maintenance,  insurance, and property taxes, then the rest is gravy.

Yes I saw your thread and made some comments. Be interested what the response is from Wise. However another poster said that his pension transfer was also denied. Now that is deeply worrying if SCB have adopted a policy of accepting no incoming  transfers from non Thais, not least for those people who rely upon it for their yearly extensions.

I remember the annoying hoops I had to jump through when monthly transfers to Bangkok Bank for retirement extensions went away. I fear another such policy will be coming down the pike.

Usually quite quick although on the very odd occasion there is a hiccup. However whilst Wise is very good I am waiting for the day that the service is so quick that monies are deposited into my Thai account before I have even actioned the transfer in the UK ????

Wise just denied me a transfer to SCB. I started a thread about it. Of course, I wrote to their Help and I expect a reply by this time tomorrow,  but I'm not feeling like a good result will come from this.

  5. I just now tried transferring 50,000 baht from a US account to Siam Commercial Bank and got a nasty note that Wise no longer accepts SCB. This is an account I've used for years. I tried to re-enter the bank and got the same message.  Anyone else experiencing the same?

P.S.  I was just able to transfer to Bangkok Bank, so it's not me.
