I thought that. However I am not sure if stopping for 2 or 3 hours and changing flights in one of those countries actually counts. Whilst in transit you are airside and dont actually enter the country. Some clarification is needed.

It must count Jimn?? The staff airside would need to be tested every day to be sure. Because the staff airside still circulate in the general population of the country once their shift is over.

Belgium has the highest death toll per 1M of population (843) in the world but get the green light from the UK Government when they had +71 new cases yesterday. I guess they need to get on with Brexit talks. Total nonsense.

  2. I just laugh at the sanctamonious idiots running the UK. They made a complete mess of their own lockdown and now think that they actually have it under control. What a load of nonsense.

So i can visit the UK if i am from Oz or NZ. Last time i looked i didnt see that there was a direct flight from either country to the UK. So at some point the plane must land in the likes of Singapore, LA, Dubai or Doha. What then?

Not that all English-style pies are bad but clicking through to their website it was immediately clear that they sell English pies and not Australian pies.

Australian pies and sausage rolls use puff pastry pastry versus a different type used by the English.

You are correct of course but beggars cant be choosers sometimes. Pastry type aside i think the fillings are pretty much the same. Hence no Soi Dogs near to their factory.

Did mine at HH immigration last week and it was done then and there. Out the door in about 10 minutes after a sign in process downstairs. Told me there’s a seven day grace period.

I did mine in Samut Prakan immigration. Same thing 10 mins. 7 day grace period was informed as well.

  6. I use these guys for quite a lot of stuff. Really good pies. Not the cheapest but they are well made with real ingredients. I had a quick look at their FAQ and they deliver to Chiang Mai. 500B. So if the order is big enough probably not to bad.

Beef, Red Wine and Muchroom is my favourite. Their bacon is pretty decent as well if you like English back bacon. They also sell their products in Villa Market (Not sure if they have an outlet in Chiang Mai)

@Snow Leopard - in this connection you will need IMHO to be aware, in particular, of the mandatory health insurance requirement which has been introduced since you obtained your current OA visa. If I were in your shoes this would tip the balance away from a replacement OA visa towards a single-entry tourist visa instead, which you could then convert to a 90-day non-O visa at your local immigration office in Thailand. But I would definitely advise against relying on a 30-day visa exemption in lieu of a tourist visa so as to avoid possible boarding difficulties when checking-in for your (eventual) return flight at LHR (or wherever).

Thats a good point OJAS. I will look into this option a bit more closely. I just posted that the O&A works for me at the moment. I am also in favour of having health insurance though anyway. But a non O route will be the way to go after 2023 for me for sure.

I did take the O&A health insurance in December (Cost was approx $1100US). I had a bit of hassle and there was immigration confusion re-entering Thailand on my current O&A before December 2019. I made several trips backwards and forwards to Thailand in October and November moving the last of my stuff across from Dubai. They kept asking for the cert on arrival. I didnt want to take out the insurance then because i was covered up until the end of December 2019 on my previous scheme. Anyway i did the Thai insurance in the middle of December so i am covered right now.

Yes I was in almost same situation but somewhat earlier.

My Non Imm O-A Visa was valid till 18 June 2020, and I hoped I would have the chance to do a quick border-run before its validity expired, but with borders closed I was not able to do that.

Luckily I didn't lose my full 2nd year, as I had made a trip to Cambodia and re-entered Thailand end of January, so my permission to stay is valid till end January 2021.  But indeed I lost 4,5 months of my potential full 2nd year due to these border-closures.

@Snow Leopard >> In your post you mentioned the issue date of your Non Imm O-A Visa, but it is the 'valid until' date which is of relevance, in your case that will probably be 30 July 2020.  So if you are able to exit and re-enter before that date you will secure a full 2nd year permission of stay.  Hope that will possible by then.  Cheers!

Cheers Peter. You are correct the valid until date is one day before the issue date. 30 July 2020. It is a bit of a bummer. Ticket is or was booked for the 3rd of July to the UK. I will probably change it now until the 3rd of September and visit the Thai embassy whilst in the UK.

If the 'enter before' date is March 2021, you can leave and re-enter on or just before that date and get a new 1 year entry until March 2022 with the Thai approved Health Insurance.

The issue date was 31 July 2019. I enetered last on the 1 March 2020. So i am good until 28 Feb 2021. My plan though was to head out about the 27 - 28 of July for one day and re-enter. That would give me until the end of July 2021.

They are correct about needing 15 days remaining on a standard permit to stay form a visa exempt or tourist visa entry or a extension of them. Immigration does not consider the "automatic extension" under the amnesty as a valid permit to stay.

Also you could of applied for the 90 day non immigrant visa (category O) as soon as you had the 400k baht in the bank. It only has to be in the bank on the day you apply. The 2 months requirement is only needed when applying for a one year extension.

The amnesty may be extended beyond July 31st if the border crossings are not open.

If not you may be able to apply for a special 30 day extension with a letter from your embassy.

Your best option now is to wait it out and then go to a nearby embassy or consulate to a apply for a single entry non-o visa.

Any news on the airport travel bubbles or a land border opening up? My O&A visa is good until March next year but going out for a day before the end of July would give me until the end of July 2021. That would be a better date before heading to the UK and getting a new one. Give everything time to settle down.

Xiaomi vacuum mop pro price is a bit under 12.000 bt from lazada. You should read some reviews and such. Dont expect it to be a total replacement of a maid but its great to keep the house clean(er) in between real cleaning.

As i said before it has its limitations as the mob is wet but not super wet (you can pre wet it) but still really stick stuff or hard to clean stuff wont be done as it cannot exert enough pressure. The mop is fixed and nota rotating thing.

    Cheers. Thanks for the reply

Part of the problem is also that many people, not only in Thailand, need all their usual monthly income to pay for rent, electricity, leasing of the car and the phone and whatever. If they earn even a few THB less then they have already a big problem.

How many individual or families can even go on for one month without their regularly income? It seems many.

Its worldwide. Paycheck to Paycheck. It all started in 2008 and now this is Season 2 of klicking the can down the road and stimulus not helping real people.
