If you don't have a TM30 receipt in your passport (or screenshot of the online report) you would be advised to self-report, or you may have issues when you do your Extension.

Technically you need to refile every time you come back from abroad, with a new TM6 number, but it's not clear to me if CW enforce this. Some offices also require a new report even when returning from an overnight stay in Thailand, but reports suggest that CW do not require this.

Should you do that if your Immigration off does not require it?

With Plastic, it's the climate. Heat, humidity and UV destroy it, Plastic chairs, kitchen stuff etc, about 12 months if ever left outside. And true, Thais do not really understand what the UV does to plastic.

Metals - they corrode, same reasons. had a fishing rod which had lasted 10 years plus in the UK, the fittings were all corroded after 2 years here.

Fans - the longest was 6 years, average about 2 years, at least 1 in 3 about 6 months!

White goods - so far ok.

Bought a cheap drill - it was sort of ok, but the drills bent as easily as a nail! Did 2 in on a piece of wood ....

Wives - this one has lasted 9 years, now showing some wear and tear, but not allowed to trade in!

I bought a power drill (plug in) from China 300 baht roadside market.  Was going to use it for 1 job.  That darn thing lasted for 5 years (300 baht)  I finally bought a cordless drill not because the other one broke but because my Black and Decker power screw driver always lost it's charge.

Seems with the high Thai baht, most shops or repair shops, don't want our expat business. Is it me, or has anyone else notice this ?

How much do guys who work at repair shops actually know about our currencies? How did you come to your conclusion?

They do want all business they can get which might be the reason for doing it first place.

As the pound goes down and the cheap charlies can't live in Thailand everything Thai including Thai service or Thai made items turn into Cra##.

the question is "what came first, the chicken or the egg?" - "chicken" is not nor ever was specified.

the answer is categorically "the egg" as anyone with any knowledge of English language or evolution would understand.

The post I was responding to was, "It’s like the chicken and the egg, but how would I know, my DNA results show I am 90% Alien and 10% Gorilla."

I believe those items are made in Thailand with Thai local brand and engineering to boot. Not foreign companies located in Thailand.

I have an engineering background so I understand thailand’s engineering prowess which is either a direct copy or slight modification of imported products or entirely homegrown design by local engineers. Material quality differs from imported parts too.

I use Lucaris stemware made in Thailand and never found anything as good in any country for the same price.

My engineer wife builds oil refineries so I might have some Thai engineering experience also.

She read your post and says you are not correct.  Of course I've only been here since the Vietnam war what do I know.

If you were right the Eastern Seaboard would have blown up 10 years ago.

We are already getting reports on TV of people being asked to show their financials at 90 day reports.

Might be another earner for the agents to put the money in, and take the money out, for the 90 day report.

Of course, the tougher immigration make it for people doing the right thing, and the easier immigration make it for people using agents, there's a real incentive, other than falsely meeting the financials, to use agents, and with immigration being so corrupt, why wouldn't they push as many as they can onto agents?

    Who is we?

  8. Engineer from 3bb told me I could not get 1000Mbps because I needed Cat6 cable.  I motioned him over to look at my 5 Lan connections.  I said read- he said, Oh all Cat 6.  Pulled up a couple of speed tests 2000Mbps.  But not all the time.  Fix please.  They are sending another team tomorrow.  That will make 12 techs have tried.

For the racists in the room (and yeah....I know we got a lot; this is ThaiVisa, after all!): we're ALL related to Africans if you go back far enough.

The DNA testing only goes back a few generations allowing one to find relatives for example I found 3 because momma was a rolling stone - anywhere she hung her hat was home.

Total international arrivals up 7.5% over the same period last year.

I would suggest a lot of those visitors are westerners, with real money to spend, that used to come to Thailand, but now go to Vietnam.

No factual information to back that up.  All of the Americans are going to Victoria Island or Quebec city.  The Canadians are going to Florida to buy used cars and the Brits are going to Spain.  The Australians are going to Bali.

Gave up website forms and email long time ago for contacting companies in Thailand.
Calling the only way. And plenty of that to follow up your request.

Invadeit answers very complicated questions by email no problem.

Lazada answers all of my questions - sometimes I have no idea what they are saying - I think translator but once got a 200 baht credit for my persistence and their lack of English.

I'm having a dining room table custom built now and the email communication has been very good.

Same with Italian leather furniture in my living room.  Custom and very good communication.

most staff at large stores only know where the toilet is and where to eat.

Home pro staff are very helpful and escort you around till you find what you need or hand you off to a person in that department.  They have so many people because many are paid by the company that is selling a particular item and not home pro the same is true in department stores for many items like cosmetics.  Chanel pays the clerks at the Chanel counter and not Central or Robertsons.
