  1. I take 3 prescription last daily:

    Coversyl Plus 4mg/1.25mg

    Rosuvastatin Calcium 10mg

    Febuxostat 80mg

I get these for almost free in Canada and was wondering if anyone has refilled their prescriptions in their home country and then had them shipped to Thailand.

So my first question is: Is it possible to ship non narcotic prescription drugs to Thailand for personal use?

And my second question is: what is the most reliable company for mailing these items to Thailand.

  2. Aside from the fact, that their facts seem out of whack. I wonder if they will drop the requirement for 800,000 in the bank for those who have the mandatory health insurance? Since that was one of the main justifications for the 800k in the first place.Me thinks they no longer want western retirees taking up residence in Thailand.

  3. I have been in small town Issan for coming on 6 months now. Was in BKK Rama 9 before. On the plus side minimal traffic, quieter, air generally better save when the fields are burning, food both farang and Thai is excellent, relaxed pace, friendly locals, no crowds and very inexpensive. On the other side of the coin, not a lot of entertainment ie movie houses, bowling, water slides, shows, beer bars, tourists etc and it is a long way to the beach.

  4. Sihanoukville has been ruined in my opinion. I used to love the beach just down the road from the lions, but all the small businesses have been closed and bulldozed. Otres 1 and 2 are toast as well with mega resorts going in. They had a good thing going with low impact small owner operated development and lots of jobs for locals. That is gone now in pursuit of the almighty Yuan and their Chinese gamblers.

  5. Usufruct is alive and well. I have specific evidence, applied to a chanut about 1 year ago (not Pattaya) with no hesitation by the seniors at a lands title office.

Actually I wonder if the lands title staff (senior or junior) can, when a Thai or any person lodges the appropriate documents as a matter of course to record a usufruct on a land title, refuse. Seems to me they would be breaking the law and derelict in their duties.

It's not their call to apply their personal opinion on such things.

It depends on the type of title for the land I believe. From what I understand there are at least 5 different types of land titles in Thailand and only 3 of those can be leased. As all the other posters have indicated get a lawyer or even better buy a condo or rent.

  6. Do not go to Penang over Chinese NY. Made that mistake in 2017 and my wife is still angry at me. All the Chinese owned shops and restaurants are closed (which is the bulk of them in Georgetown). The tourist sites are packed beyond capacity. The airport and immigration is chaos a la DMK.

  7. Thanks for the reply and info.

Have a GF who lives and works in Chumphae.

Been there a couple of times for just a day or two each time so don’t have much in the way of local knowledge.

I speak enough Thai to get by but will need to improve my Issan which is minimal.

  8. Can anybody tell me what Chum Phae is like to live. Long term accommodations, restaurants, gyms, places to meet other farang, I am over 55, things to do etc

    thanks in advance

  9. No sure if this right forum.

I am wanting to end my three plus year relationship with my Thai girlfriend. Has anyone successfully ended a relationship with a Thai girlfriend without the usual extended drama. I have a fairly nice circle of farang friends with Thai wives and girlfriends and I would rather not been perceived by my friend’s GFs/wives as the bad actor in this breakup, as I would expect my next GF will likely come from an introduction from this group. Thanks

  10. They are both white blood cell elements that fight infection. Both are out of range which means you are susceptible to infections.

You need to see you doctor ASAP to determine why this is happening as well as what can be done to rectify this situation.

  11. My girlfriends father (70 years)had a heart attack in early September and that is being followed up at the end of October with bypass surgery. He went to the Synphaet Hospital in BKK where he is registered and later transferred to another hospital near Don Mueng Airport. Not sure if the upcoming bypass is at the same hospital. Nonetheless so far he has paid nothing beyond the token 30baht fee which his kids paid for him.
