traveller101 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
TAT projection - 234,035 visitors between Friday and Sunday ........ generating revenue of 2.2B Baht Couldn't TAT be a bit more specific about the revenue generated? I expected at least an approx. figure in the vicinity of 2,201,007,348 Baht. -
Joint House/Senate Session To Pick PM Put Off

The answer to your question see below. The Junta would have to somehow amend the Constitution to reinstate the Senate's voting power to elect a PM. -
Joint House/Senate Session To Pick PM Put Off
traveller101 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The only glimmer of hope - let Bhumjaithai party's leader Anutin become PM with the support of the Senate. Good luck to him try to govern with 311 house members on the opposite side of the aisle. Once the junta appointed Senate is dissolved in May 2024, the opposition representing a majority in the house takes charge. The argument that Thailand cannot afford 10 months of ineffective government does not hold water since the country already endured a 9 "do-nothing" years approach. -

Could you kindly provide the rest of us with links supporting your delusional statements - thanks

Hmmmm - he declared an annual income just short of 5 Million Baht. His declared assets the equivalent of approx. 200 times his annual income. I wonder if the Anti-Corruption Commission in its valiant effort to provide transparency asked the Gentleman to kindly explain the discrepancy. Rhetorical question

Pravit elected as PM until recently seemed to be a remote possibility. Leading a minority government that can't pass anything through the house. Unless ......... Remember the 2nd complaint accepted by the Charter Court? Accusing MF of "attempting to overthrow the democratic system with His Majesty the King as the Head of State". It would not surprise me at all if the court rules in the affirmative, expels Pita and orders the dissolution of the Move Forward Party. Problem solved!

Referring to prominent Senator Somchai Sawangkarn describing MF party as an extremist cult controlling the minds of young people. It becomes even funnier once you know, that this [deleted] is the .... Chairman of the Senate standing committee on: Human Rights Rights and Liberties Consumer Protection

You might reconsider your stance once you learn that at least 30 leading American professional medical association supporting health care for transgender people and youth, pointing out the widespread misinformation and bans on care do not reflect the research landscape. https://glaad.org/medical-association-statements-supporting-trans-youth-healthcare-and-against-discriminatory/

Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairiest of them all? Top right, bottom left is Brad Pitt's former wife. The other two depict and I quote.... "a Freddie Mercury look alike" "a man dressed and made up to look like one" "looks like a young David Bowie" "looks terrible" "a grotesque farce" "this thing is no lady" "2/10" among more elaborate descriptions lol May I suggest a new pair of prescription glasses? Pita To Be Given Second Chance For PM: Wan Noor
traveller101 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
"Do well" in what respect? Do well for who? "Usually democracy works better but there are a lot of exceptions" "Works better" in what respect? For who? -
Seriously? IMHO - a load of horse manure, full of prejudice and in complete denial of reality on the ground, ignorant, insulting

Chinese tour group apologised after causing harm to Thai marine life
traveller101 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Interesting - the diving tourists got charged for an offence that carries a sentence of up to 2 years jail and/or a 200'000 Baht fine ...... while the dive company and their dive instructors got away with a proverbial wai. Just wondering whether or not the Chinese have been instructed not to Interfere with marine life and the possible consequences of doing that under thai law prior to the dive. -
Move Forward Declares War On Drugs, Graft In Phuket
traveller101 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
All-out war against drugs? Proven to be a never ending failure over the past 50 years That's not 'Move Forward' - rather 3 steps backward. -
Really? Probably yes ...... After the van driver horned on end, tailgatet their car for some distance until both stopped at a red-light. The van driver then got out of his car and approached the the guys to ever so gentlemanly make them aware of an alleged driving error on their part a while back. To give him credit, he did not carry a machete, iron rod, gun or similar weaponry to get his point across. Nothing further.

Phuket Governor Orders Investigation Over Underwater Painting

Dear Governor You find the results of your investigation below. Also - applying logic and common sense would dictate that the paint does not dissolve in water at all, I.e. is waterproof and insoluble. -
Thai PM Candidate Faces Disqualification Bid
traveller101 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I fully agree - but judging from the past - disqualifying Pita from holding public office opens an easy way out of the present conundrum ...... Pheu Thai Leader new PM candidate. Promises not to amend 112 laws, willing to include Anutin's party in a coalition, subsequently receives the 250 senate votes to become the new PM. I really hope it does not come to this, it would constitute a real tragedy and missed opportunity for Thailand to move forward and embrace the 21st century. -
Senate panel to study Move Forward party’s PM candidate
traveller101 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Investigation by the EC of Pita allegedly holding 42000 shares in a Media Company sets off alarm bells. The exact same scenario played out after the last election with the leader of progressive 'Future forward' party disqualified from holding office and the party dissolved. Problem solved. I have my fingers crossed we don't have to witness a repeat of this tragedy based on trumped up charges. -
I couldn't agree more and let me remind the "vitriolic people" or heartless morons in my book that comments such as: 'Throw her in jail and throw away the key' 'lock her up' 'send her to the monkeyhouse' 'send her back to Bachmud' (Bakhmut) 'absolute scum' ........ seem to be way over the top considering the gravity of the crime committed in this case.
