You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come.

"I hear new news every day, and those ordinary rumours of war, plagues, fires, inundations, thefts, murders, massacres, meteors, comets, spectrums, prodigies, apparitions, of towns taken, cities besieged, in France, Germany, Turkey, Persia, Poland, &c., daily musters and preparations, and suchlike, which these tempestuous times afford, battles fought, so many men slain ... shipwrecks, piracies, and sea-fights, peace, leagues, stratagems, and fresh alarms. A vast confusion of vows, wishes, actions, edicts, petitions, lawsuits, pleas, laws, proclamations, complaints, grievances, are daily brought to our ears. New books every day ... whole catalogues of volumes of all sorts, new paradoxes, opinions, schisms, heresies, controversies in philosophy, religion, &c. Now come tidings of weddings, maskings, mummeries, entertainments, jubilees, tilts and tournaments, trophies, triumphs, revels, sports, plays: then again, as in a new shifted scene, treasons, cheating tricks, robberies, enormous villainies of all kinds, funerals, burials, deaths of Princes, new discoveries, expeditions; now comical then tragic matters. Today we hear of new Lords and officers created, to-morrow of some great men deposed, and then again of fresh honours conferred; one is let loose, another imprisoned, one purchaseth, another breaketh; he thrives, his neighbour turns bankrupt; now plenty, then again dearth and famine; one runs, another rides, wrangles, laughs, weeps, &c."

I saw something about that, but I'm not clear if only meant other passport holders have to self isolate for 14 days, and not applicable to Australian passport holders? Did you hear anything about this point?  Also I wonder how this ties into rule already in place that folks from China, ital, Iran, ?? are totally banned from entering Australia until further notice.

The headlines are misleading; they say "all arrivals" but the body of the article says "all visitors" https://www.smh.com.au/national/pm-introduces-strict-travel-restrictions-for-all-arrivals-20200315-p54a8q.html

Other articles say it's "all arrivals", nothing about "all visitors" - https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-15/coronavirus-covid19-self-isolation-announced-for-australia/12057772

I have opposite experience.  Every deposit has been visible no later than 3pm Thai time next day in my BKK account.

I've sent three transfers from my Australian bank in the past two weeks, using the Apple Pay integration. The funds transfer was instantaneous (literally) in each case - TW advised it would be. I logged straight onto my Thai bank account (Krungsri) and the funds were there

The lady also mentioned that CL has real-time links with immigration records and your travel is on a file and if you break the guidelines it's automatically flagged to CL for action, most of which is automatic.

    Absolutely true

Actually the UK advice has just changed and instruction now is to stay home for 7 days if you show symptoms of the virus.

The latest thinking is that 80% of cases show up in the first 7 days and a significant proportion of the remaining 20% in the first 10 days

Well, my mother always told me, 'don't eat with food in your mouth and don't talk with your mouth open.'

As for the soap, it seems to me the main reason for washing isn't to kill the virus but to get them off of your hands all together and down the drain. I saw information once that the most important aspect of hand washing was friction. Rubbing your hands together. That's why surgeons scrub with a brush. Soap, hot water and plenty of friction to remove microbes and kick them to the curb, that's my plan.

It's also why drying your hands with a paper towel is more effective than using those warm air dryers that are popular in public lavatories

If you are referring to Professor Peter Piot he was one of the team that discovered Ebola.

In the interview with Sky News that I read he stated that the Corona Vrus is respiratory and that a lot of the infection is in the throat.

If this is the case I would find it quite believable depending on how close you are to the the person to whom you are talking that it could be transmitted.

We do after all expel air when talking some more than others.

It's exactly why the Italians first said that restaurants and coffee shops could open provided people were further apart than 1 metre
