but they have to come back homes to take their PC's, laptop with peripherals, paper files and whatever else they need to do work. They might need also to go to their workplace to arrange with co-workers many other issues.

They have just went for a few days holidays, and not for several weeks brake.

the government promised in advance happiness, and not unemployment for 2 weeks

I sympathize,  doubt that the 7-11 loses any money. As you  observe, the  store is busy. If customers did not like the format, no one would go.  Thais are tolerant of beggara, unless in a hiso area. For the superstitious, It is bad luck to move them and it is unlikely the low paid 7-11 worker will want to. If people were upset, they would not give money in hopes of buying merit, much like Europeans did with their indulgences back in 1300's.

I am not disagreeing with you because I think you are 100% correct, but this is Thailand social fabric where people  are ok eating stall food  in presence of noise, car fumes and traffic. We see druggies and itinerants parked in tube/metro station around the world and some big cities  have the mentally ill in full walk about. Be grateful that you have the money to go to  any 7-11 you wish,  that you are not the man  in doorway, and do not have to eat  rubbish quality soup in parking lot . These people have subsistence lives surviving day to day and do not know any better.

Just start collecting data to know where/what to target and stop with all the hot air.

    1)  Count all deaths, not just at the scene, but any death due to an accident.

All deaths to people without a license

    All deaths to underage drivers

All deaths due to people involve not having lights on or wrong lights (no red lights in rear)

All deaths due to people driving the wrong way

All deaths due to small bikes (less than 400 cc) and all big bikes

All deaths due to no helmets

All deaths with > 2 people on motorbike

    All deaths involving u-turns

Just a start but add more categories ...

Thai minister proposes 'golf quarantine' to boost tourism

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand’s Tourism Minister said on Monday he had proposed a plan to allow foreigners to quarantine in some of the country’s many golf resorts to boost the ailing tourism sector during the coronavirus pandemic.

“We are discussing with the Public Health Ministry and the country’s coronavirus taskforce to offer hotel and golf quarantine for tourists with medical certificates,” Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn told reporters.

Foreign tourists would be able to spend the two-week quarantine period at a specified resort and move around in the hotel area and also play golf, he said, rather than just isolating in their rooms.

The plan, which is subject to the approval of the cabinet, comes as the Southeast Asian country grapples with a second wave of coronavirus infections after managing to largely contain community spread for months.

Thailand has reported a relatively low 10,834 COVID-19 infections and 67 deaths, though since several clusters emerged in December the country has been recording several hundred new cases a day.

Thailand attracted 40 million tourists in 2019 who spent 1.91 trillion baht ($63.4 billion), but the number of visitors dived during the pandemic after its borders were sealed, devastating hotels, restaurants and tourist spots that relied on foreigner visitors.

A special visa scheme that was started last year for long stay visitors has attracted about 1,000 visitors, Phiphat said.

    ($1 = 30.1300 baht)

The 12 month bank statement is a standard requirement. Requested one at a Bangkok Bank branch for a fee of 200 baht today. It should be ready for pickup in about a week. My extension is due early next month so I will get a one month bank statement to show my August transfer.

If you did a transfer in the same month to make up for the shortfall in your transfer it will be accepted. Nothing says it can only be one transfer.

they will not 'smarten up' as multi non 'O' married are for people living in Thailand, i dont see why you are on a multi visa if you have money in the bank, its a far more expensive route to take, just the visa alone is 5000thb as opposed to an extension at 1,900, unless of course you are leaving every 90 days for a work related issue

I do not know where to post this but just renewed my extension based on marriage using monthly income method. Please note, the online application form is not up to date and had to be redone at immigration. It is essential to get 12 months bank statements which is in.Bangkok  Bangkok branch needs to be requested 1 week in advance(200bht fee). Passport photos and photos outside of house, inside of house and in bedroom need to be high quality ( selfies of house not accepted). COROR 2 from local Amphoe needs to be up to date in addition to marriage certificates.

all items to be duplicated and presented

  7. Udonthani needed proof of 40k deposits for last 12 months. I showed a letter from Bangkok bank ( local branch) showing last 6 months. Not accepted. Now have had to write to Bangkok bank in Bangkok to get 12 months statement. Worried.normally pension is above 40k per month, one of the months was 500 baht below ( pound dropped because of brex<deleted>) . I did transfer an additional 6000 from my UK bank that month from state pension in uk. hoping they will accept this otherwise I am shafted

Many of their customers are close to begging the government to let them reopen too. With no local transmissions in a couple of weeks now, there is essentially no one out there right now for people to catch covid from, so further continued closure makes very little sense. They have zero chance of getting tourists in all the time this continues and now would seem the perfect time to allow them to open so the situation can be assessed and protocol addressed before people come back in numbers.

There are a lot of people employed by these places who need to get back to earning a living.

    Sorry, too logical
