There are a few comments on here indicating that the driver was drunk as yet I have to see a Thai report claiming this was the case or are people jumping the gun and assuming he was drunk .
We will see the blood test from the Hospital. But at 4.40am, there are a lot of chance to meet on the road a hard worker who get up early, a party goer who come back from the bar/night club or a monk maybe...
My opinion, and from what i've seen on his social media profiles, leaves only little doubt about the answer.

When you just made an accident where you killed somebody, and the first thing you're doing is deleting your social media pictures where we can see you driving at fast speed says a lot about you...
Edit : This picture was deleted the day of the accident, where he was supposedly not able, to answer questions from the police

I don t think it a fake picture. The question is will be police be able to check the speed on the speedometer because it's normally blocked in case of an accident where the airbags are inflated
But If the driver airbag is not inflated i m not sure the speedometer was blocked... Then it will be much more difficult to check the real speed of the car

I have not got any information that's why I have not Posted any
I suspect you are confusing my comment of and I quote
"Hopefully for the drivers sake alcohol was not involved"
I made that observation as regards the RTP request that the Hospital does a blood test on the driver
One might think that they suspect "alcohol" is involved, if so then a nailed on prosecution
Far be it from me to suggest the RTP have done it to make the negotiations move along rather more swiftly
Anyway My fellow member mizou198 I have a sneaking feeling that English is not your mother tongue, so I will now move on as hopefully I have cleared up your confusion
Have a nice day
yes, i misunderstood your sentence, i'm sorry. You're right, english is not my native language and i've read your comment too fast. Sorry again ????
i wish you a nice day too

This French guy is really an idiot , I mean dumb if he thinks he can get away with this. He is just a scammer and should be more worried about Big Joke now than ever before
He is not only a scammer, but he claims himself to be the head of a huge steroids network in France and USA. There are some clues about it and i believe it's true.

Disgusting irresponsible idiot.
No pedestrian would be able to notice such a speeding car in time.
The roads in Phuket or elsewhere in Thailand are not race tracks.
If there is indication that he sped like this before the accident I hope he does not escape with his big money but be thrown in jail and deported later.
What i see from here is he try to hide his bad habit driving behavior by deleting all pictures and profiles from the internet.
What does it say is :
1- he uses to drive fast and recklessly before this accident
2- he will most likely try to put the responsability on the pedestrian (night + crossing the road)
I agree with you. If the police find there is an indication that he does this before he will be in bigger trouble.
This is a Disgusting behavior

I don't know where did you got this information but here is what people could see on one of his facebook profiles... before he shut them down...(few hours after the accident)
The guy posted a lot of pictures / videos of himself driving fast. Here is one of him driving at....200 Km per hour in phuket. And he took a picture of this "exploit".. while driving of course
I feel very sorry for the person who died.

A pathetic scum bag of a man whose fragile ego led him to murder a woman he couldn’t control.
you must have been a politician or something similar in a previous life @Bluespunk ???? In french we say you have a wooden tongue. Not sure if you have this saying in english.

She did nothing wrong.
It's strange you don't see this story as a romance scam where the victim (the guy) took the justice in his hands and killed the thief.
I agree she didn't deserved to die for her actions and i agree that it's wrong to do justice yourself but she was asking for troubles.
What is much more serious, in my opinion, is we see almost no romances scam investigated by the Thai police when it's a thai girl who target a foreigner, but we see almost one article every week about a nigerian who scam thai ladies. Yet several neighbours of mine have nice stories to says about this...

Wonder why the nigerian is arrested and the girl of this story was not... both are romance scam after all...and it would have saved her life.

What seems strange to me in Texas is juveniles could be tried as adults as young as 14, but the age of consent is 17.

It does... If she hides her age.
And he didn't forced her to register in a website called SugarDaddyMeet.com. I doubt she didnt understood what does this means..

It’s not difficult to point out the ignorance of victim blaming.
If you cannot make the difference between victims blaming and avoid making choices in your life that leads to dangerous situations then you might have a serious mental issue...
This is so evident that it doesn't normally need to be explained to a grown man (or woman) and you turn this thread into an extreme feminist debate with no new arguments aside "stop blaming the victim"
I'm sorry but i would not advise my daughter to hang around in mini skirt in a dangerous neighbourhood in london, paris, or los angeles even she has "the right to do...".
In the same way, i would not go for a night walk in a favelas in south rio de janeiro with my 20.000 Thb camera and my rolex. (even i don't have rolex though)
It has to do with common sense and safety in order to lower the risks for yourself (and your loved ones).
If you are not able to understand that, you might get troubles one day or an other, that's it.
The world try to eradicate the violence, but we are very far from it and i doubt we could reach this goal any day soon...
Nong nurse made some choices that ultimately leads her to her death. She could have avoided it several times.
- She could just avoid having 3 boyfriends in same time (for any reasons, money, pleasure or libertinism)
- she could avoid getting into a relationship with a drug dealer
- she could avoid going to the meeting with the guy knowing he could bring a gun (which she see by picture)
- ect ect
This time, she got killed, but i'm sure before this fatality she already faced many troubles who should had been interpreted as warnings.
She had a dangerous lifestyle. She paid high price for it. She didn't deserve this end.

Apparently she tried to avoid causing trouble to Sia Lop, either... Rather than being concerned about her own safety.
Sure, she deserves a posthumous medal
Tomorrow i ll light a fire in a forest, then i will call the fire men. I hope people will see that i'm a true hero.
There are 2 options :
1- she was dumb
2- she was a manipulator.
Option 2 seems more likely considering what we know from her and her choices of life
But maybe i m wrong...she can be both, 1 and 2
Again, i feel sorry for her. Or more specifically, sorry for her kids. They will grow without her and it s very sad.

? ok you re a kind of radical feminist bot or something similar.
Your posts defend two opposite ideas.
one day you invite people to avoid victim blaming, the next day, victim blaming is acceptable if they are men who are duped.
They get scammed because they are dumb.. their fault
Do you realize it's exactly the same reasoning of blaming nong nurse to get killed because of her choices right ?

It's called victim blaming then ? ok, so at the end you agree that the guy was a victim in first instance in some way.

If you are dumb enough to be sending money to a good-looking Thai girl, Russian, Ukrainian, whatever, then you deserve to be burned. You are just too gullible to survive in the real world.
Actually, nong nurse made bad choices and was not able to survive in this real world. but @NonthaburiBear is still there to bring a valuable contribution. therefore, i'm more willing to follow his advices that hers to survive...
It's not being dumb but duped. And this is the root of our misunderstanding.
But ok. i m not sure we could say much more about this case. you have a very sharp opinion. I respect it. But i don't agree with you

If you don't know the answer to that question you know nothing about Thailand. I have utmost respect for Thai women, otherwise Iwouldn't have made my comment.
all your answers are rhetorical, and it might makes you looks like a philosopher but it doesn't help much to elevate the debate.
What is scary is how you throw stereotypes. Like
you look bad = you cannot have a beautiful girlfriend = she must be there for the money
What you re suggesting here is this guy should not had been so involved into the relationship considering that he is ugly and he should have known she was there for the money ? ?
and therefore step out like nothing when he realized that he was just manipulated
His disappointment has led him to commit a crime and he will have to pay for that. (and i hope he will pay the highest price)
You can say what you want. What she has done is wrong and if she didn t deserved to die for that, she played a dangerous game.

Judging by some of the comments, there is obviously a very large percentage of woman haters on this forum, guys who think that this young woman deserved what happened to her, had it coming in fact. I can understand why these guys ended up in Thailand, their misogynist views and attitudes wouldn't have got them a first date in a western country, yet they put down the very women they probably came here for in the first place. Hypocrites all.
Most of the comments highlight her lifestyle. And don't approve her choices of life doesn't mean they are misogynist. People, guys or girls, who sell their bodies and setup romance scam, by choice or greed deserve only little respect.
By the way your comment show little respect for thai girls. Do you mean they are ready to accept "these guys" while occidental women don't ? Why ? Because they are sub-women in your eyes ? Or have less expectation ?

No: that’s people asking for money with the promise of giving them more money in return. That’s a con and it’s illegal.
Me, or anyone else, asking someone for money because we don’t have any or we want to buy something isn’t illegal. The person we are asking can always say ‘no’. We haven’t promised any monetary returns.
Bit of advice; if someone you like says they like you and they keep asking for money - they don’t really like you. They like your money. Get good at hearing no and get good at saying no.
You re wrong, it has nothing to do with an investment or buying anything. The name offence speaks by iteself : it's Romance scam.
These people promise nothing than "a good life", "love" ect...with a good looking man. (It's actually what the girl in this case was doing as well).
And in between, they request some money for an hypothetical problem... which is something very common from "pretties" or "lady bars". you know ....mama sick.... motorbike broken.... brother hospital
By the way, i never saw a bar girl pictured on the medias for "romance scam" although it's very common in thailand.

Expolit weaknesses? Like what? Putting a gun to their head and demanding money? Sure, that’s illegal. Telling them you’ll leave them if they don’t give you money? No, that’s not illegal.
No one cares about your feelings. No one owes you anything and no one is olbliged to be loyal to you cos you give them money or show them love. Your feelings don’t trump people’s free will.
If we follow your reasoning, this one is legal.... Nobody put a gun on the head of these thai women after all...
You exploit weaknesses to get money = you are a scammer = it's illegal. Like it or not the law apply the same for the couples.

Thai Airways flight delay drama: Couple tell their side of the story
in Thailand News
Posted
All (european) passengers of this flight should ask for compensation. If they do, they will get 250 euro.
https://www.claimflights.com/air-passenger-rights
Let's say 200 passengers do it,
200 X 250 euro = 50.000 Euro.
It would be fun to see Thai Airways to pay that fee.
