I went to the4 Hospital in Chom Thong seen a doctor was given the cream and tablets for my problem was shocked when they told me 140 baht total. In Australia $70 " 1400baht" then the pharmacy $40 "800 baht " total 2200 baht. Sorry I can't complain about the cost. of visiting the hospital.

I live in Hot district about every 12 months immigration are in the area just checking that you are living at the address that you have told them until you have been there for a long period then they rarely visit unless they feel like a coffee break. If a farang upsets someone that person may put a complaint in and they come and make sure all the paper work is up to scratch.

It seems that the problem is with tourist who are not paying there hospital bills why does the hospitals not require their passport to receive treatment as they do for expats who are living in Thailand when we visit a hospital must do. I don't see why making retirees pay for a private health insurance is warranted. If the Government used it's head and requested a higher payment for visas of about an extra 3000 a year for health cover at a public hospital that would not be needed if a private healt cover is in effect.

By the report it states that tourists are the blame not the retirees. All retirees have sufficent funds in their Thai bank accounts to cover the 400000 baht need by insurance. The older retiree if they can get insurance will be losing up to 100000 plus dead money for unwarrented insurance.

They don't really think before they speak, and have been trained from birth to agree with people in uniforms.
"I have the right to enter Thailand with my valid VISA" is all you need to say.
It's up to them to speak in English, and give you a legal reason to deny your entry.
Sounds to me like they're looking for a bribe.
I disagree with you, after we have heard what their problem is and if there is a problem she will tell me the fault or misunderstanding we politely apoligise and ask what we need to do to fix it. I have seen my Thai partner has up a polite stance against people in uniform when she has the proof on hand she never argues or tell them that they are wrong.

Everyone is blaming some rich Thai driver, I have never seen a Thai use this finger salute, so maybe it was Westerner and not a Thai.

I have a OA visa which is due in the next 3 week, I do not have health insurance cover. Does this mean if I go to Immigration prior to 31 October and have my visa extended for another 12 months it will be okay as that will give me 12 months to sort out Health cover for the future.

Not sure where you hail from, the East Coast of Australia is 3000km made up of rainforest and National Parks that stretch 200km inland. there are cities and towns cut into these forests the problem is that Australia has been in a drought for the last 5 years and the build-up of dead vegetation that has not been cleared by legislation brought by the Labor and Greens Parties in 2005. Thi9s fire is only a small part of the millions of hectares that has be burning since August 2019.
