Not sure how they came to the total of 250,000. I wonder if they asked people, "Are you a prostitute?"
Exactly, a survey like this can only be considered real in a country where prostitution is legal such as Germany. Elsewhere it's just a rough estimate.

I have been told several times that cops are paid very poorly but the system allows them to accept bribes etc to compensate them for the low pay so the top brass look the other way as they are also in on the food chain.....without this system nobody would want a job as a cop.....true or not i do not know but it sure seems that way.
It is true. You can see how cops are always looking for ways to better their meager monthly income. They are very creative, the roadblocks in Pattaya are the prime example. The rider without a license gets stopped at the roadblock then he is instructed to pay a visit to the police station where everyone is already expecting him, he pays 550 TBH and gets a paid mark on the slip. One cop even told me when I went back to get the motorbike, "If they stop you again you can show this slip with the PAID mark on it! 555

As usual, the 'silent majority' reactionary boomers are out in full force.
Magic mushrooms were legal and obtainable in many countries around the World until the early 2000s. In England, they were legal in a wet state, and in Japan they were legal in a dry state. In Tokyo, at the famous neon-lit pedestrian crossing, there used to be a large store only selling magic mushrooms.
The obvious benefits and remarkable lack of drawbacks makes them a true no-brainer. They have been so successful for treatment of depression in research experiments that they were fast-tracked to legalisation.
You are neglecting the downsides, every substance has its downsides.

Tourists flying high AND hallucinating while renting a motorbike. What can possibly go wrong.
Not many people are willing to talk about it but cannabis really impairs ones ability to drive.

After all, they are model citizens, and show so much kindness, respect and goodwill towards the locals.
Russian culture is very rough by nature, the oposite of the buddhist culture of Thailand.

So the solution to Russians causing social problems, running illegal businesses, kidnapping and murder in some cases ... is to invite more of them. You cant make this up.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. This problem has roots in the corrupt nature of Thai police. The tendency in the Thai police when they come across all kinds of ilegal activities is to procure their share, their bribe first. This gives a strong message to all criminals that they can get away with anything.

Perhaps Namsod, the monster son of the headman of Sairee Beach is back. He appeared to have been banished, after his serial killing became international news, after the deaths of Hanna and David. Always felt bad for those innocent Burmese lads who were framed for that crime.
The reality is, when you have amassed a fortune into the hundreds of millions of dollars, from illegal land sales, you are above the law. Any and all laws.
Dark Tao. Visit at your own peril.
I did a dive master course there in the 2000's, there was a feeling of connection and friendship among the diving community. But things change fast in developing Thailand. That diving season actually ended with me catching dengue fever.

BANGKOK – Videos and photos of a foreign man defecating in public on a busy Bangkok street and then bathing in a Buddhist shrine has gone viral, sparking disgust and anger among local residents and online viewers.
The incident, filmed on Thursday in the infamous Soi Nana (Sukhumvit Soi 4) district, shows the man casually squatting on the sidewalk before proceeding to wash himself in a nearby shrine with the apparent assistance of a Thai security guard.
The graphic videos and photos, shared to ASEAN NOW by a witness, condemning the man's blatant disrespect for Thai culture and public decency.
Calls for Action
Witnesses expressed a mix of shock and frustration, calling for authorities to locate and take action against the man. Some have voiced concerns about the negative image this portrays of foreigners in Thailand.
While the identity of the man remains unknown, the incident highlights a recurring issue of disrespectful behavior by some foreign visitors to Thailand.
It's worth noting that public urination is already an issue in some districts of Bangkok, but this incident goes far beyond that in terms of both hygiene and cultural offense.

It's going to be a bitch trying to get that Genie back in the bottle if not impossible. The PM needs to do a little research on the benefits of cannabis, let alone the tax revenue! But you can't fix stupid....
It's impossible to put the genie back into the bottle. Thailand already created a weed/CBD culture. People who understand and like these products will not accept the end of this industry. I belive that at the end what will happen is that most shops will be linked to Thai traditional doctors nearby who can write prescriptions for medical usage for anyone.
You just claim that you are suffering from some misterious headaches...That's it.

i'm surprised they don't have reasonably robust measures in place already, and the question is; would these new stricter measures have prevented entry to any of the recent high profile miscreants?
what they need is more focus on compliance once people are here, e.g. identifying and removing overstayers - it can't be that difficult, and stamping down on corruption between locals and foreigners - bit of a no-brainer you'd think...
It's actually almost impossible to identify an overstayer if he has foreign income and access to that income through a bank card for example. He can just stay in rented properties, whatever. He is almost impossible to detect, unless someone tells the immigration.

The airport that has left the most lasting impression on me is LAX, where twice in a row I spent two hours getting through immigration, One of those times they couldn't even get the airbridge to the plane for 30 minutes, even though we arrived on time.
I avoid LAX at all costs.

The passenger experience at Hanoi's airport is poor, it has a very limited choice of restaurants and shops, I'm not a fan of this airport at all.

several people I know do every day MuayThai training, don't drink alcohol (or hardly) and smoke a joint after dinner. they want to go back to "zero" as they say. that "zero"-point they can use later in their fights!
I realize this sounds a bit weird, but there's more roads that lead to Rome ! 🙂
They mean the Zero in dopamine baseline. Cannabis as all psycho active substances affects your dopamine baseline, in the long run it can really affect you negatively. But sure, no one wants to discuss that.

Those sugary drinks are the worst, one cup of Thai iced tea probably has six or seven spoons full of sugar in it, that is diabetes waiting to happen.
The way this happens is that anytime you eat sugar or other carbohydrates (glucose), you force the pancreas to produce more insulin (to store all that into the cells), until the cells no longer respond to insulin, therefore starting insulin resistance and diabetes.

Thai Maid Inherited Fortune from French Boss

All the toxic people around already started to target the poor maid who most probably never suspected that something so tragic could ever happen. Narcissists always tend to equate everything with money. They don't know, they have understanding of human empathy.
