  1. In my case, data is always switched on on my phone. It does not use any Mobile data unless WiFI is unavailable. Bluetooth is always on and paired to the radio in my 'old' Toyota truck. The phone is held in a holder, visible from my driving position, and any calls can be controlled from the steering wheel. Fiddling with the car radio, changing stations or volume, can be just as distracting as doing the same on your phone, or on the built in info systems in most modern cars, which can be even more distracting, eg checking tyre pressures, fuel consumption etc etc.
  2. Don't you simply download the App, BBC Sounds, LBC, Classic FM or whatever you want, or one of the International Radio App, onto your PC, phone or tablet, and off you jolly well go?
  3. Why not if it is there, easy on the car radio. Or of course, have all your stations in your phone, and Bluetooth it to said radio. Perfect.
  4. Caroline Flashback when there are no presenters, just continuous music, LBC for a bit of Chat & debate, and Classic FM to go to sleep with. Heaven. PC or phone.
  5. Then why did you not mention that in your previous reply instead of 'I will never have a Smart phone' ?
  6. You really need to think. How can a needle in a plastic groove going round and round on a turntable, vibrating a coil in the cartridge, with all the snap, crackles and pops, and rumble, be better than a CD taken from the original master mix, or sampled from a pristine LP via DS-SD converters costing thousands. The range of a CD far exceeds that of a vinyl (yes VINyl not VYnil) LP. FLACs are noticeably better than mp3s, mainly because mp3s are heavily compressed to keep their size down, but most mp3s are listened to on phones & cheapo headphone/earbuds. Somewhere on You Tube, also compressed, there is a film of an experiment where the same music was played to the audience via dog's bo11ox sound system, from the master tapes, CDs, flacs and mp3s. Guess which won! As we age, out high frequency hearing deteriorates, I cannot hear above 11kHz, and blew a tweeter in my Paradigm speakers trying to get more top end. Just got to live with it.
  7. Last week, before she went, it was to promote Thai food in some obscure town. And to stop off in Monaco to negotiate the Thai Grand Prix next century. No mention of her kids.
  8. NO, only the stupid ones who can be persuaded to smuggle. All the other good ones will still come.
  9. You didn't answer my question, CDs or mp3, or flac.
  10. Wow, you've really gone back on my posts, or have a great memory. I make my own vino from concentrated grape juice, red & white & apple, available online at about Bht 600 to make 10 litres. It needs about three months to clear and mature a bit, never had some longer than that. It is quite palatable for ME.
  11. And after your second bottle, you would not know if it was Bht15,000 or Bht 500!
  12. Great ! So what percentage of the GDP were those 2 million foreign arrivals contributing.
  13. So you prefer the sound of cassette than CD or mp3.
  14. What year are we in now please?
  15. Thank you. If you are lucky, your IO will allow the Combination Method ie 400k in bank and 35k per month. As long as it totals over 800k, should be OK.
  16. What if you are under the Pensionable age in your country? You cannot get a Pension letter.
  17. Do you mean that you will put 800k in the bank, AND transfer over 65k per month, or enough for you to live on?
  18. Not seen happily retired, living with my girlfriend of 14 years, in the house we built together, with daughter and 4 year old grandson. Far enough away from any of the aforementioned categories.
  19. Good morning B..................
  20. Recently used one to renew my UK Passport. Cost me less to pay the agent than two trips to Bkk and back. Great service, 4 weeks.
  21. That can only be to someone who is in your Whats App contacts. I doubt whether DWP, or Nationwide Bank are on it.
