I think it's the humidity, even my loudspeakers degraded and my gfs leather bags got moldy when we weren't in our condo and the AC was off the whole time... A fotographer friend has his equipment in a room with AC 24/7 here even when he's not in Thailand, else it just rots away...

Prolly true, all yound people i know (westerners, koreans, japanese, singaporeans, thais mostly) are either on a thai island or bkk/chiang mai. I don't know of a single person in my age (mid 30s) that lives or visits pattaya, at all. Personally i've never been there except one time in jomtien to look at a used boat... It's pretty much the only place in thailand i have absolutely no desire to ever visit.

Which is obviously far more harmful than vaping eliquids... Same as IQOS. less than smoking a blunt tho. Yeah except for every human who ever took a hot shower or bath... or had a cold and did steam inhalation......

Thailand does NOT sell dual-split air conditioners. Why ?
ThomasThBKK replied to thairookie's topic in DIY Forum
That's not accurate, multi split systems are absolutely the norm here. Daikin, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, LG, Samsung, Hitachi etc all sell multi-split systems and every decent hotel and condo and bigger houses uses them. Example: https://www.daikin.co.th/en/activities/r32-multi-split/ Go to the AC manufactures website, check the dealer list: https://www.daikin.co.th/en/wheretobuy/ PowerBuy and co aren't the places to buy a decent multi split system AC imo -
Are Agricultural Crops On Unused Land Just A Tax Dodge?
ThomasThBKK replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Absolutely, but even worse on the islands and mainland near the sea. This will cause extreme drainage and erosion problems for Thailand's coasts ???? -
Are Agricultural Crops On Unused Land Just A Tax Dodge?
ThomasThBKK replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This unused land tax is so stupid. They will deforest all land and even the islands just to plant banana trees, if they don't destroy the forrests they have to pay more taxes on them. Did no one think about this dumbass tax for more than a minute.......jeeeeez -
This already happens often, especially at phuket airport. I have my own bad experiences... Think ill just switch to something more socially accepted here, like Meth.

War in Ukraine sends construction material prices in Thailand soaring
ThomasThBKK replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
No, it seems japan is the biggest source of Steel. "If the Builders I have seen locally are anything to go by, they are reducing the amount of steel used in the Construction to reduce their costs and increase profit margins." Only a fool would allow that, builders have to follow the bill of quantity they signed off on, everything else is a scam. -
Documents required to transfer stamps to new passport
ThomasThBKK replied to techno's topic in Chiang Mai
Normally if you get a new passport from your embassy they give you the letter to do so, it states ur old and new passport number and tells immigration to move it over...? -
DIY for subwoofers is always an option, start small with a single one and upgrade over time (or not), most peoples audio system grows over the years, no one really starts with lots of stuff. Partsexpress has good DIY kits. Small subs like the SVS micros, REL t5 or t7 etc work also fine for small rooms, position and having multiples is more important than lots of headroom and a bigger sub imo. Especially in condos. Thailand also has a healthy used market on facebook marketplace, fortune town in bkk etc... personally in our condo i have a KEF LS50W system and 2x KC62 subwoofers from KEF, it does well enough and i don't need an extra AMP.

With low frequencies the room modes are the biggest issues, ur comment about a second sub wasn't too far off. https://kaistale.com/blog/130928roommodes/index.html This is how modes spread. Ideally you would have 2 or more subwoofers and position them in a away that the bass is good at your listening positon, geddes recommends 3 subwoofers, weltis research (harman kardon) 4 (midway on the room walls, or in corners). That way you don't need to turn volume up to 11 to have decent feeling, which also helps with your neighbours... 2 or more subs aren't actually "louder" as they cancel each other modes out, they just give you a more even, less drowing bass. As you are familiar with REW, you can use the Room Simulator to play around with subwoofer placement. For soundproofing itself, the home theater crowd in the US uses mostly green glue sandwiched between drywall, i would recommend avsforum and co for more info on how to: https://www.greengluecompany.com/ . That said, to really really soundproof a room is expensive and hard to do as i painfully found out. PS: if u want to read more besides the book you already mentioned this one from dr floyd toole is considered the best "audio bible": https://www.amazon.com/Sound-Reproduction-Psychoacoustics-Loudspeakers-Engineering/dp/0240520092

The only country in the world without speed limits, a country where u can run around with a beer in your hand without getting arrested unlike america, country that is open to all neighbouring countries without travel restrictions. Yeah total control freaks unlike Thailand and co. ???? It's quite obvious that germanies healthcare system is collapsing, many nurses quit, ICU beds are down as no personal is available and/or is dead. Unvaccinated people are an extra burden on every nurse and doctor and thus the whole population, surgeries are moved as hospitals are busy with covid and have no extra beds, but oh well, who cares as long as some coward doesn't have to get a syringe in his arm?

What <deleted> up argument is this even, the op wouldnt have a problem with the CCTV itself, if he would control is. But it's controlled by some creepy old dude who doesn't live there, like a psychopath... i would just replace the NVR (recording unit) with my own so only i have acccess to the CCTV....

Very simple, u leased the house, its temporary yours now. It's legally not his for the time being, nor is he allowed to enter it without notice. You can do what u want, including throwing out <deleted> you don't want, with the only condition that you have to restore it in its original form when you move out (minus wear off). Just throw it out. Also as he's living in the UK and is thus not a thai tax resident, you need to withold 15% of his rent for taxes, it's now ur joint responsibility to pay this to the thai gov, hope you are aware of that... Even those fancy ones... All I ever got was the same goddamn broadband antibiotic, no matter what I had. Always the same one, the one no one uses in Germany except everything else got tried already and always mixed with other meds that should not be taken together with antibiotics.... Literally have to google each time I get meds here if they are safe for cross use... might be dead without google already...
