  1. Sorry about your fall Mr. Stevemercer.  I had similar leakage and found birds had made nests in the roof gullys, After I had the nests removed, I installed several tokays (the overgrown geckos) to police the birds.

Now I send someone up (it's 2 stories) periodically to clear away any debris.

IMO, repeat, IMO Bkk Bk will let the IRS govt payment pass through, but I have no facts to back up that opinion.  It's just I haven't seen any TV posts of any US govt payments being rejected by Bkk Bk and I know many people surely get govt payments at Bkk Bk not in IAT format.

Now, send a payment from your US financial institution not in ACH IAT format and Bkk Bk will reject it....saw plenty of posts to confirm that.

Thanks very much for your feedback, Mr. Pib.  I guess time will tell.

The originating institution was the IRS/US Treasury.

OK  I misspoke when asking about the originating institution. Sorry it was my error.

I guess what I am trying to figure out is.....

Last year when Bkk bank New York branch still accepted ACH payments my  IRS refund

DD was sent via ACH to my Thai branch of Bkk Bank and forwarded on to my local Bkk bank branch here. This year, IRS still has my Bkk bank New York DD info. on file.  Will Bkk Bank New York accept the relief remittance from the IRS and forward the remittance to my Bkk bank account here in Thailand via IAT?

This year I did send the IRS new DD info on my 1040 tax return but I sent it by mail on Mar. 23 and my return(including new DD info) is somewhere in transit, so it looks as though the old DD to Bkk bank New York via ACH may be all the info they have.

Good to know the payments are beginning to flow.

Since some have wondered if the IRS will send in ACH IAT format I can tell above payment was sent in ACH Domestic format since it has a "310" entry in the payment description.   I expect above snapshot is from a U.S. bank and not a Bangkok Bank acct.

Encouraging post but the questions remain...

    1. What originating bank or institution and

    2. Will Bkk Bank USA branch forward or accept the IRS payments to our local Bkk bank here in Thailand? As you stated, the above remittance was made in the ACH format

Hate to throw cold water on us that are living in Thailand, but I read that the people who receive the checks must be a RESIDENT of the US as determined by the address on file with the IRS, NOT the SSA.

So if you are lucky to still have a US address for your taxes, you are good to go.

No mention of that clause if they send out checks to those receiving SSA payments.

Nothing in stone until they actually pass a bill with the exact requirements.

I read that recipients must be a U.S. resident OR citizen. Anybody's guess at this point

  6. For all the sane members out there; I just watched a video with Dennis Miller. He says , and I agree, he is no longer trying to convince anybody of anything. It's a waste of time. What I can say is that: anybody who wants to support a Green New Deal, and the Democratic Progressive manifesto, really, really needs to come to their senses. It spells disaster for the USA. BTW  Bernie just nailed his last nail today. Do you really think that the Dems, AOC, Pelosi, Schumer, Schiff have the best interest of the USA at heart?  Really?

Green New Deal? Kennedy Performing Arts Center?  Yeah that will help boost main street America.

You should find it informative to understand exactly what the Dems are offering, Some of the Dem's line items are proposing to fulfil airline industry request, which the GOP package has failed to do. IMO fair enough to request transitioning to a lower carbon footprint if they are offering billions in grants. I'm sure you will remember trump's insistence quid pro quo is perfectly acceptable.

This is not the time to add a lot of pork to the bill.  Pretty basic concept. Review carbon footprint later. Not when the country and people are in need of jobs and employment. Boeing, whether you like them or not, employ 1000's and their suppliers employ 1000's more, ergo sustenance for the working guy or gal.

So if they are stupid i should be stupid too? no thanks. I'm only wearing one if i get symptoms

Like I said before... a little protection is better than none at all.  But... Up to you. Best not to denigrate others.

    Think about that!

It's impossible to get a supply of quality masks because people are wearing them who shouldn't be

It is quite possible to get a mask. There are plenty of entrepreneurs out there, even in my small village.

The general populace will be more accepting of you if you make an effort.  I agree that the quality might be substandard, however , a little protection is better than none at all. Think of others 1st. Be empathetic. BTW... how do you know that others are wearing them that don't need them?

    Use Nothing!!

everyone who collects SS gets the extra $200. I realise that some who don't need it might get it, but we are not about to cut our nose of to spite our face.

I did not understand anything after the first sentence of this post.

I am not surprised. If the economy shuts down, you will not have an income. If you don't have any income for 2020 then your 10 year (40 quarters) will decrease your eventual SS income.

I personally already receive SS but I would sacrifice any increase for the benefit of those more in need. BTW  I am not rich and could use an extra 200$/month.

2020 income taxes haven't even been recorded so how is the Govt supposed to assess that?

He doesn't care whether it works or not, I'm only using mine if i get symptoms or they stupidly make it compulsory

Everyone should wear a mask for the sake of others, to not infect them. It also give the public surrounding you a little peace of mind, or are you indifferent to that?
