  1. I agree that illegal imports should not be allowed. In my post I am thinking long term. As more countries legalize, I am sure we will start to see global cannabis trade.
  2. Sure, but what if it is the Thai ganjapreneurs who are importing it? Are we allowed to buy import coffee here, import vodka, import tea? Why is this any different? Instead of banning stuff, just tax it accordingly and let the consumers decide what is right for them. Maybe some fancy import strain will cost 1k a gram after tariffs. For someone it maybe worth it because they have a favorite brand from back home. For most others they will buy the local grown non tariff bud which should be priced a lot more competitively.
  3. Why should it be illegal? They should charge a tariff on it and let the consumers decide. Personally I prefer to support Thai weed, but I don't see why imports should be illegal.
  4. I doubt these people are buying their bud from over priced dispensaries though. They are probably smoking Thai strains that cost peanuts.
  5. For me its the exact opposite. I'm so used to prohibition, that it just feels wrong to go into a shop in the open and buy weed like that. I'd much rather stick to the traditional model of buying from independent growers or online.
  6. I think ultimately weed shops cannot be competitive. It makes no sense to sell just weed and have to price rent into your product. The shops will always be undercut by independent sellers or online vendors that are legit and not just trying to rip off English speakers. Cannabis just needs to be sold in coffee shops, 7/11, the pharmacy, etc. That way other products also help to pay the rent and not just the bud. This cannabis dispensary model is so silly. Most people buy things online today anyway, I cant imagine why anyone would actually want to go to a physical location to buy bud.
  7. Let's see, she sells 1 gram for 1,000 baht. A married couple enjoying a toke every night after work, that's a 30k a month habit. Forget Thai people, I don't know many westerners who could, or WOULD spend that much on pot. Weed is not some high end luxury product only for the elites. The real money is in getting more regular people lighting up. That requires a more realistic price point.
  8. Buy some cheap brick weed and plant the seeds that come with it.
  9. I'm bummed that this 100g batch went moldy. I really like this Tanaosri red star brick from BB. It's not even the price point, I just really enjoy the buzz that it gives. It is more enjoyable than some of the fresh hybrids I have. I guess I can always buy it in small quantities so that it doesn't spoil. Maybe next time ill let it air dry for a bit before putting it in the jar. It was definetly not dry enough, the stems were not breaking when I folded them.
  10. My thinking is to leave the rest to sit in the jar for a few weeks and see if any more mold develops.
  11. Brick enthusiasts, how are you storing your weed? My latest batch that I got end of February, started to mold on some of the buds. When I bought it, I opened the air sealed package, broke it all apart and put it into a big jar. It was not fully dry so for the first few days I left the jar open for 30 min a day. This was 4 weeks ago. Today a few buds at the bottom of the jar are covered in mold... ???? I went through the buds carefully to remove anything that looks moldy. Had to throw away about 10 - 15 grams. Where did I go wrong? Was I supposed to dry it completely before putting it into jars?
  12. Thats awesome to hear. Here is an example of an English only website selling Thai brick varieties.... at literally 10 times the price of Bong's shop. https://preciousbuds.com/product-category/local-strains/
  13. I wonder if he is seeing dollar signs in his eyes and a new site will be in English and 10x the price ????
  14. It was google translate, he probably just means farangs like us. I found it funny nonetheless.
  15. He appears to be out of stock now of the good one. He made a comment about it on his Facebook. Translation from Thai said that the foreign tourists found out about his shop and cleaned him out ????
  16. Just like in the Tea market, consumers have a choice in the product and packaging techniques. You can buy loose leaf tea which to me is like buying cannabis flower. You pay more and you get a better looking / smelling product. On the other hand, you can also buy compressed tea, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compressed_tea. Both varieties of tea are legitimate products. With cannabis being legal now, I can see the same type of situation happening. You can have some nice flower for special occasions when your friends come over and you want to impress them. You can also have some quality brick that you enjoy as a regular smoke. What great times we live in eh?
  17. Exactly what I thought when I saw it too.... but once you roll it and smoke it you will be pleasantly surprised. By the way the 10grams I went through didn't have a single seed. If you are willing to overlook the appearance, you are in for a treat. Placing another order as we speak.
  18. I will be doing the border run here. I currently have an education visa that is expiring soon. I haven't left Thailand for a few years now. My new school told me to get a visa exempt stamp by doing a border run. They advised me to stay the night in Loas before returning. Is this really necessary or can I go in and out on the same day like it used to be at the Mae Sai border.
  19. Let's call what I'm doing, market research. I've bough different strains of different quality (price) from different farmers / online shops. I am posting in this thread about my experience with brickweed, as thats where I got the idea to try it in the first place. So far I'm pleasantly surprised.
  20. Well I'm just trying to get to the bottom of it. Not having smoked regularly for a long time. I am trying to wrap my mind around why some weed is 500 baht per gram while other weed is 10 baht per gram. Is it just pure marketing? Is it like drinking Sangsum vs Jack Daniels? Just the taste and look of the bottle is different but the end result is the same.
  21. You are correct, but for the past 2-3 weeks I've been smoking 4-5 times a week. It's been the pretty manicured bud that they sell at dispensaries, just ive been buying direct from farms. So my tolerance is not high but its not zero like it was a few weeks ago.
  22. Again this is my first experience with brick, maybe I got very lucky with this batch. I'm very surprised that something this good can cost so little. I am not a big pot smoker and actually haven't used much since my last visit back to Canada in 2019. I will give some samples of this to friends who smoke daily and see what they say.
  23. If you smell it before rolling yes 100%, but once its being smoked it smells just like normal bud. My girlfriend smoked it in front of me, while I didn't partake. It smelled just like regular bud.
  24. Once this brickweed is rolled into a joint, I doubt anyone would be able to tell the difference. I bet all the pre-rolls that the dispensaries sell are exactly this kind of bud. They buy a kg for 3-4k baht then sell pre rolled grams for 150 baht... talk about insane profits.
