What do you mean 1 day missing? If you change jobs when the process is ongoing, they allow you time of a week or two to transfer jobs. I bet you wish you had done the process now.

Typical, I apply for Thai Citizenship then they give any tom dick or harry a 10 year visa! 

Marry the GF, it will make things much easier for your child in the future. If you don't reust your gf, make sure you have a prenuptial agreement.

They did it for me 1 month before. Give them a nice kanom and smile.

I alway tell people  i can live more  cheaply here in Australia as I own my own home.My main issue with Thailand is the health  care   us old people will require and  as we know  it is not cheap  going to hospital.Recently  a good friend of mine had to go back to  Europe  because he just  could not afford the ongoing treatment required.  

Health care is much cheaper for me in Thailand than it is in Australia. In the UK it would be free. Thailand is pretty cheap in the govt. hospitals, and some are very good. 

Anyone who has been in Thailand for a number of years knows that they are always placing hurdles, and these hurdles are ALWAYS easy to get over, or more often around.

I mean it would only be about $5-10,000. Hardly a lot to live for a year in Thailand. Hardly a lot for someone's life savings.

If someone is using the combo method, it wouldn't take much to top it up to 800k. It's only to be there for 3 months. Those who can't do this, really shouldn't be living in a foreign country, IMHO.

I was not allowed to be grandfathered in around 2004, when that bloody square head increased the visa fees. I had a marriage visa, showing 200k in the bank and then had to show 400k.

For citizenship, you must have been working for at least 3 years in Thailand.
