Maybe, just maybe, banks will review their code system if a lot of Farang customers will move their account to the Bangkok Bank.
On the other hand I am afraid we are not that important.
I think you mean foreign, not farang.

Interesting if I can use the money gained from buying cryptocurrency a few years ago as money from abroad.
I suppose I'll have to cash it in a bank abroad then transfer here which is a total annoyance. Maybe I can just send it to a Thai bank?

Remember it's best to go a day after it expires then you get 6 years. I didn't need a medical cert.

For confirmation and assistance contact your local agent.????
They are immigration, I'm sure they will be able to offer some gullible old newcomers an offer they can't refuse ????

I remember the initial process involved several trips to Bangkok MFA, Embassy, Translators, ... costly and time consuming
Strange, I didn't need to do any of that in Lopburi.

My driving licences use my passport number. To get a driving license you have to produce proof of residence (yellow book or letter from Immigration), so the DL showes the same information.
Certainly my DL has been accepted as ID for internal flights.
As for hospital, when I first moved here I stepped on a broken glass. Off to the local hospital for stitches. They took a blood test, and found out I had diabetes (type 2). Head nurse signed me up, I was issued a hospital number, and now I have regular check ups and get my medication at the hospital. I pay the going rate, but it is about a third of what the big private hospital in town would charge. Queues are long, so I take a book
.
Same here, the pink ID card is stupid, and useless, and gives many a false feeling of being accepted into society.

In any case you don't need Imm' input. Don't liston to anyone who tells you they have to cancel your visa or extension.
You only need to deal with the Labour Dept' in your new area.
Not true if the extension is dependent on the school. In that case, the name of the school will be written in your passport.

Having 800k in the bank is a fair enough requirement. Thailand is no longer a 3rd World Country but a rapidly developing country. If one can't satisfy having $20k in the bank for a few months, one shouldn't be allowed a long-term visa.

Having dual nationalities does not affect her being able to own land. She would still have all of her rights as a Thai.
That's what I told her but she insists that there was some problem with inheritance with her friend who owned hundreds of rai of land.

I have a friend in the outer royal family(HRH The King was at her wedding). She hasn't taken US citizenship as she says she doesn't trust the law about owning land. Although it should be OK, she doesn't want to take the risk.

Bangkok Bank at Central Plaza. They ask for you to take a government officer to vouch for you.
Alternatively, Bangkok bank on Sri Jan road, near the Jarern Thani Princess hotel, but beware there's a guy there who try\ies to cheat farang out of money. Twice, he tried to charge me expenses from both ends when sending money.
