I would not spend a lifetime in a country that did not allow permanent residency and better rights than what ex-pat's are willing to put up with here.
Retiring here is not spending a lifetime here, more like 1/10 of a lifetime, as these days most people can't get a pension until 65-70 and live an average of a couple or 5 years after that.
I can get permanent residency here and citizenship, not exactly hard to do.

as i heard they call 14 to 15 days before, not sure in your case, because they normally call Thai wife Mobile Number.
and not sure if you miss your interview it will back to que, suggestion try not to miss the interview,
lets see other members reply.
I read on this tread somewhere that it could be 3/4 days notice.
2 weeks would be enough for most to travel back from wherever they are abroad.

And everyone is now going to have to start considering the possibility that Thailand is planning to make retirement here progressively more difficult than in the past by imposing more and more restrictions or requirements.
Do you want Thailand to develop or remain as a 3rd world country that you can come to and abuse?

Can you name another country where this has happened? Or. Will Thailand be the first?

The quiet older retired expat community has supported many facets of this country for years.
No way, Jose. They have supported the massage parlours and Boonrawd Brewery.

If the above were implemented it would restore expatriates confidence in the immigration policy and make expats feel that Thailand also appreciates and welcomes the contribution they make to the local community.
How many retirees attend their local community meetings?
Most of them wouldn't understand a word being said.
Many contribute to the Boonrawd fund and poor farmers fund. lol

2. Visa agent #1. I have access to the 800k immediately n the following year need to have 800k 3 months seasoned before renewal again.
3. Visa agent #2. I have access to the 800k but was not sure.
4. Visa agent #3. I do not have access to the 800k for 3 months after the extension is approved n not below 400k for the remainder even before march 1st.
Why on earth use an agent if you have the 800k? It's not like you have work to do.

monthly transfer 2000 euro from my dutch bank to my KTB Euro account cost me 5.20 euro
Ridiculous, just wait until Ripple XRP replace SWIFT, there will be no cost and instant transfers.

Why, they can live cheaply here and spend 12 hours a day on their computer, paying only $15 a day for a good connection.

Mr Field said he has common sense but suffers from an anxiety disorder that lends him to being forgetful and inattentive. This played a part in him losing his wallet.
I thought it was stolen.
Retirees should be around red light areas anyway, especially after dark. They should be in bed with a cup of Horlicks.

He can claim the money back from the insurance, can't he?

Why the need to write 'ladyboy' in the heading?

He can't complain, he's had a more than average innings. If he doesn't have family/friends here that he can borrow 15k to get a visa through an agent, then he really shouldn't be here as he must have gone delally.

Those receipts go into your application package, but I have never heard of the interviewers ever asking about it.
Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa ConnectI was also advised that a letter from the charity that I donated to was a good idea. Something like Mr.X has been a regular donater for x years.

Thanks for you stupid reply, my cats are 16 years 10 years etc, you are not an animal lover or you would understand what an ordeal it would be to take them on a 10 hour car ride to BKK, then onto an aircraft for a 12 hour flight and a four hour journey to the north of England......who takes care of them during if the older ones survive the flights and journey's. Think before you call people silly, mind your manners.
Stick them in a box, no big deal. It harder travelling with young kids.

Rubbish. How come they have made the Thai Citizenship so easy and faster, if that is the case?

Another hopeless thread , 39 pages within 24 hours.
Just pay 15k to the agent and move on with your life. Go with the flow.
Agreed, it just goes to show how it is mostly pensioners who use forums these days.

I estimate about 1 % will have to leave. These will be loners that are too stupid to understand how to get around the system. Much ado about nothing.

This is a Buddhist principle called compassion. Many Westerners will not have this quality.

Please use the word "foreigner" in your news headlines. Some white skinned people are Thai citizens and some British people are not white.
