I'm not about to make enemies with an immigration officer over a thousand Baht. I'm not at immigration to fight a crusade against corruption I'm there to get a piece of paper stamped so people will leave me alone.

I always make sure the immigration officer knows I have a re-entry permit immediately once I get through the hour long queue.

Don't the sellers have the power to remove bad comments on Lazada or at least appeal for them to be removed? I bought some usb flash drives from there that turned out to be fake (thoroughly tested). I left a negative review posting the results of my test and a brief explanation of how they don't have the storage they claim. My review was removed within hours and as far as I know they're still selling the fake flash drives.

Let's not conflate the government with the people. It'd be great if the government would treat us better but I have no complaints with how the people treat me. I'm sure Thais would experience more racism in my country than I do here (basically none at all).

I love Thai people, they're much friendlier than people in my country. This forum is filled with negativity and it's good to understand that foreigners often express themselves more abrasively than Thais seem to. I hope this forum doesn't give you a negative opinion about all foreigners, some of us are lovely, I promise ????

I think I've solved the "Dark green/Light green" mystery lads.
As @ExpatOilWorker said:
The Sukhumvit line is dark green if you're at the MRT (As shown by their maps etc.)
However if you're at the BTS the Sukhumvit line is light green (As shown previously in the thread)
So yeah, nice and confusing.

I think what you mean to say is Dr. Donna performs all mandatory tests as set forth by Thai regulations and does as very good job of it for a fair price. I'll be seeing her next month for my annual renewal.

The TV displays on the platforms need sorting.
This has been the case for a good while. They used to be spot on but now I don't even pay any attention to them as they're next to useless.

Yep, I noticed that today!
Glad it's not just me then.
Had a lot of fun this morning on one of the new trains. The train doors opened but the glass station doors didn't so nobody could get off. The train then proceeded to move off, then stop abruptly and reverse. People were bouncing around like pinballs. Good times. There's clearly some bugs to work out with the new ones.

I always thought it was a bad idea to name the lines after colours
Agreed, considering the number of lines they could have used entirely different colours as well. If they'd have included black and white they could have done away with light/dark green and blue.
For light red, call it pink.
My initial point still stands though, the announcement on the new trains IS wrong. So even they're getting it wrong. ????

Where did you come across the map?
Almost every single result on google image.
Even wikipedia uses this colour scheme:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhumvit_Line
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silom_Line
If yours is indeed correct, what's going on?

Silom BTS line is light green.
Sukhumvit BTS line is dark green.
Are you sure?

Has anyone else noticed that the new MRT train announcements tell you that you can transfer to the "dark green" line in both English and Thai? The Sukhumvit BTS line isn't dark green, it's light green. ????

God, it's really saddening to hear continuous stories like this. I always wonder what the country would be like if the elections went in another direction.

I still want one but I don't have a yellow book.

People actually keep their currencies on the exchange? ????
Fair play to them for doing this the correct way instead of just disappearing.

Anyone have some examples of this? Just out of curiosity.

Does it give any indication as to why it was rejected, or do you have an idea?

Since this thread has been necro'd I'll add I went to one in the basement floor of the Westin Sukhumvit. (Pretty sure it was the Westin I'd had a few by this point) and it was great.

The obvious question to that is- if we are in a simulation of a simulation etc etc etc, at some point the first simulation must have been created by someone or something. So who created that someone or something?
Whatever it is I'm sure it's well beyond our comprehension or ability to understand. As humans we like to try to put thing in neat little boxes that suit our ability to understand. Perhaps it's not that simple. Our capacity to comprehend may be comparable of a fish looking out of a bowl. It may not be as simple as "It was either created or happened by accident \_(o_O)_/" I wouldn't dare speculate on the nature of base reality within simulation theory as I'm sure it would be completely alien from anyone in trying to look out.

I'm more inclined to believe simulation theory. The Big Bang? Someone just turning on the power and elements rushing into place to be rendered graphically. Seemingly arbitrary laws of physics? Boundaries set by code. One day we will be able to simulate a world indistinguishable from reality, we're getting closer and closer all the time, who knows what we'll be capable of in 200 years or more? If it can be done, what are the odds that we're the first to do it? We could be inside a simulation of a simulation of a simulation.
I don't truly believe this but it can neatly explain away most of the questions about life and the universe far better than any religion could, in my mind at least.
Is it possible to have two work permits in Phuket?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Wait what? I'm up for renewal next month, will they take my blue book away? (I'm in Bangkok) I'd rather not have a work permit on my phone. Also what's the implication with it not stating the employer? I could work anywhere without raising eyebrows?
