  1. Let's get back on track in regards of reviews of cars bought in Thailand? MB C43 2020 - 15.000 km Pro's: - Fully equipped. - Not a single problem till now. - Good value for money compared to other 400hp sports cars in Thailand. - Not a hybrid - good old displacement power + 2 turbos. Con's: - Service only in Bangkok for AMG. - V6 engine, I would prefer an inline engine since they rev much faster and produce more low end torque. Would you buy it again? Yes, no regrets so far.
  2. My 2 cents: The accident location is a death trap with scooters going 10-90kph changing lanes to continue straight on Taksin Road - combined with 120kph+ cars who either wish to take the exit or go straight. (130-160+kph'ish at 1 am and empty roads). The damage on the Taycan does not look too bad, so I think the speed was not extreme and the Scooter driver was either going very slowly or no helmet/fastened helmet. I hope the alcohol test + plenty of cameras will prove who was at fault.
  3. Nobody here who enjoy or prefer Thai Airways? As a frequent flyer with 100.000-150.000 miles per year (pre covid) I have preferred Thai Airways the last 10 years. * Thai Airways lounge both ends and fast track channels. * Whenever I needed to change a ticket it took 2-3min online or a simple call to TA. * I have transferred my 2+ year old tickets to Travel Vouchers with no problem and I had the option to get a refund, but chose the travel voucher as I hope TA will get back on their feet and I dont blame TA for covid. The profits looks wrong or tweaked, but nevertheless I am happy to see positive news from Thai Airways.
  4. @andre0720 you seem like a real expert on this topic. Are you also one of the Vegans who say new born babies should not drink mother milk, as it is not "vegan"? Get a life or bigger condo than one with 4x2m balcony in a non smoking condominium, or move into a house far away from any neighbors. Or close your doors and spend a bit money on AC = problem is fixed except the smoke will be waiting on your balcony just to kill you as soon as you open the door. OP still did not say that smoking is prohibited + this is on 20th floor (water front) ??? where is the problem unless ones shoes are getting to small? (buy new shoes). Cheer up, it cannot be as bad as you say. Druggie!
  5. 20th floor, waterfront condo = seems like OP needs to go 1-2 sizes up in shoes. Prevailing winds are from South/West. A 20th floor waterfront condo in a Pattaya (sea view/gorgeous view) will have a very nice and constant breeze on the 20th floor 95% of the days. Clearly the anti smokers are out in force in this thread. I suggest you guys try to fix the pollution issues instead of worrying about ONE person smoking (legally) on his balcony on 20th floor of a waterfront condo. Enjoy life, it is pretty good most of the days.
  6. The new Honda HRV RS looks pretty good and also good size car for Bangkok traffic. 1.179.000 thb.

    Internet wifi

Check your speed on your mobile (4G/5G). If speedtest shows low ping time and download/upload speeds, then consider an extra data sim card + a pocket wifi. 5G is now faster than our fiber connection, so I plan to change to a 5G sim card router, when my fiber internet plan ends in May 2022.
  8. Most of Sattahip is only accessible for Navy personnel and their families. Nang Ram beach is just south of Sattahip Port. You go there by road 331. Just after entrance gate you make a left turn to Nang Ram beach. Nang Ram beach is on Google Maps, so just use Google Maps navigation to get there. Cost for a small boat to take you out to the corals costs 500 thb. Your child will enjoy feeding a lot of fish, so consider to bring some fish food or buy from the boat man. Nearly no wind and small waves are coming from South East right now, so I bet it is very flat in Nang Ram beach today. Today is also cloudy = less UV for your child.
  9. Hi Recommend you to try Nang Ram beach just south of Sattahip Port. They charge 20thb entry for farang. Water is ususally super clear and safe. Also a lot of fish + corals to enjoy if you like to snorkel. Monitor weather forecasts and pick your days based on wind speed and direction.
  10. Our best guard dog, came into our garden on similar terms. I guess he was only 4-5 weeks old and super skinny. I wrapped a towel 3x around my left hand and slowly approached him. He did not bite 1 single time, but threatened to bite a lot. Best guard dog out of our 5 dogs, he never jumps any visitors, keeps distance and barks of people he dont know. Even if you cannot give the puppy a perfect life, at least give him/her the chance in your farm.
  11. I was also not expecting nor preferring FB messenger, but that was the message I got when I drove to the Thai Embassy on day 5 after application. They were clearly too busy and said they focus only on people with less than 48 hours to departure and contacting them via FB messenger was preferable. So I did that when I had less than 48 hours to departure and they answered swiftly and QR code received 5 mins after I uploaded 1 page insurance proof. Not the ideal communication line I agree.
  12. I used yahoo mail and got confirmation that my application had been received. I did an extra application via my work mail on day 5 out of desperation, but I think Yahoo email is ok. It was also impossible for me to get any feedback from embassy by phone, so I drove 4 hours just to learn that they prefer communication by FB messenger and that they focus on people with less than 48 hours to their flight. Try to find the local Thai embassy on FB and message them asap.
  13. My TP application went like this: 1st of Nov - apply for TP. 5th of Nov - visit embassy (to no avail as the embassy only focus on people with less than 48 hours to their flight - which is fair enough). 8th of Nov - good swift dialogue with Embassy via FB Messenger. My application was rejected due to my insurance was 3 pages. I got a 1 page certificate and was immediately approved and received the QR code. 10th of Nov - rejected at TG check in counter, as my TP was created with a flight 1 day later. (mistake from TP side, not mine) Luckily I had checked this with the Embassy and received this message: If Airline has a problem, please refer to FAQ No.21 ttps://consular.mfa.go.th/th/content/thailand-pass-faqs-2 21. Will my Thailand Pass QR Code remain valid if I change my flight to Thailand? - Flight changes are permitted within 72 hours from the original flight time without the need to apply for a new Thailand Pass QR Code, provided that all other required documents remain valid. So the QR code is valid for 72 hours and not 90 days! 2 other passengers had already been rejected, but TG called them back after seeing FAQ 21 and I saw one of them returning with a big smile on his face. Try contact the local Thai Embassy via FB messenger, they will most likely have same priority as in EU and focus on people with less than 48 hours to their flight. Good luck
  14. Thx for answers on this topic. I have global insurance coverage through my job. What document do I need to obtain from my insurance company as proof of proper insurance? Sorry, maybe a stupid question? I plan to start my COE application on Friday.
  15. You must be bored since your are quoting yourself? Addict or Alcoholic? which do you mean? By all means this is a forum and the OP asked if he could go buy a couple of beers on the Queens birthday. Enjoy your holy life and cheers to everyone else.
  16. Do you have any evidence on BMW and MB owners who can hardly pay off their vehicles? Suggest you compare OPs thread (Porsche) with BMW Ms and MB AMGs? and please come back and tell us all these owners "can hardly afford to pay off the installments" - just one more time to acknowledge you dont know much about the subject in this post on Porsche owners. Cheers & happy Sunday to all of you
