I bought a second xiaomi mi air purifier 2s last week. You can get a slightly better deal on the "Pre-order" on lazada if you are willing to wait a week, I got mine for 3290 baht (+109 for shipping), ordered it Jan 20 received it Jan 29.

I follow their recommendations even in normal times. With the current situation I just wash my hands more regularly and I do it a little more conscienciously when I am coming from outside. I never touch the handrail on skywalks but now I also make the extra effort to not touch it in stairs and escalators. The most difficult part for me is to not touch my face, I tend to do it a lot because of some (imaginary?) itches.
A good advice that I read online is to act like everything you touch outside your home is made of raw spicy chicken.
Can anybody shine a light on this please, I don't quite get the meaning of it:

Here's a four step plan for them, no comitte needed:
1/ Don't become the hub of coronavirus infection
2/ Let the baht naturally fall down
3/ Do something against air pollution (really, not another comittee or "X urges Y")
4/ Take down the various mafias ripping off tourists
I would be surprised if they go any further than step 2.
Also let's be honest, tourists have no visa problems and most are not even aware of the TM30.

I didn't think much about the WHO until now, I must thank them for stepping out and giving me a cue.
PS
I went and found the source for this info, here's the original interview: https://www.facebook.com/nbtworld/videos/465150497486875/
And here's the curated version with the first 20 seconds matching the headline of this post

So they think this will not even double if the public starts panicking ? When they calculate domestic demand does it include Chinese buying every box they can find to send to the mainland ?

It's used to treated the common cold and flu, so this MD is not taking much risk there

I would be ashamed to be on either side of such a farce, I guess we don't have the same values.

Unfortunately the law is just a tool here, not a code to abide by. We've had many examples of things already illegal taking places all over the country and at every level, embezzlement, encroachment, corruption, cover ups, ...

I'll celebrate when the thb/eur goes over 37 again, this is where it was when I first moved in. I also have a few large expenses coming soon so I'll gladly save a few % on my money transfers

The electrified rail is in the middle so if she was not hurt and had the time climbing up is the best option. If there's no time or if injured, see the hole where she has her legs ? Lying down here would give you a large clearance from the train.
Yes, how do you know I had a lot of time to think about this on my commute...

Out of the confirmed cases in China, more than 1200 are considered to be in a critical condition (according to Thailand's own official report). The situation is serious and I hope someone understands this in the gov, this is not just a flu.
In Thailand here's what today's report states: since the beginning 44 lab tests came back negative, 14 positives, 144 still waiting for results. 27 people are currently in isolation rooms.

That was the number of suspected cases 3 days ago, confirmed cases are at about 7800 at the time I'm writing this.

Japan did it, now they rank just behind Thailand on the case count.

I told my gf to be wary of what she reads, social media are going strong with conspiracy theories and fake case reports. It's a big opportunity for those people eager to get views and comments. Even those heroes calling for help from Wuhan... filming themselves in their bedroom in front of a webcam. For all I know they could be posting from a mansion in Vancouver.

The only thing that I see under control for the moment is the communication. The 14 cases update was already 2 days ago.

I'll be traveling to Thailand on the 8th of February. I'm looking forward to a wonderful holiday with my wife. and I'm a senior citizen also. Not worried about virus in the least
That's not unreasonable, the numbers in Thailand are not very bad yet.
I would just recommend to avoid touching your face after touching door handles, hand rails and fingerprint scanners. Maybe have some alcohol gel if you don't feel like waiting for the next bathroom to wash your hands.

So everything is under control ... until it isn't

I prefer reading that than "64 Thais evacuated from Wuhan and released after fever check"

If I am not mistaken Thailand mentioned earlier on that they had 8 infected, now (14), but when they reported 8, they said 5 got better, were released and went back to China, if you can believe that, I mean why are they still reported 14 if 5 went back ?
And why is the official recovery number so much lower than the impressive 62.5% of Thailand ?
At the time I'm writing this China has officially announced only 104 recoveries for almost 6000 cases detected.

They setup a system to detect symptomatic cases of fever, it works and some of them even have the virus they were looking for.
So now... impossible question: how many people infected with the virus are going slipping through the controls because of the incubation period or fever suppressing medicine ?

People already have fans, they should advertise the diy filters that consist in strapping a hepa filter to a fan.

All of this stands... as long as the situation is 100% under control here in Thailand. You can bet those Europe flights will also be impacted if it becomes more serious. Maybe they are expecting good sales from foreigners fleeing en mass and those same foreigners coming back once the situation settles down.

It's only a temporary PR campaign, they have to pretend the BMW were justified when a bunch of smartphones would have worked just as well.

Thailand was already unattractive for many because of the air pollution and high baht. Fortunately for them they now have something tangible to point their finger at instead of just pretending not to see the elephant in the room

Best deal on air purifiers?
in Chiang Mai

With the current terrible AQI a single air purifier will maintain one of my rooms at 15-20 in auto mode. I put them in a corner of the room, turn them on in auto mode, turn off the screen and forget about them. I bought a second one because the air doesn't circulate much between my rooms so the unfiltered room was at about 30 when the filter one was at 10.
I use the boosted mode (heart) when coming back after a long holiday or when cooking goes wrong and the sensor goes crazy.
