Nonsense, it was his fault.
But the tunnel is not well lit, the curve is dangerous also due to the maintenance strip there and the tunnel is narrow,

I agree with you, it could do with better lighting, that bend is a bit strange people do need to slow down,

I think the information you have is wrong, I think the term used is "Condotel" There is one such project I know in Rawai and they have a hotel license I see their number quoted on their own web site and on other OTA's sites, they get a lot of business via booking.com, 

They did sell a lot of the units but I am not sure that license covers the private owners to do STR,

Im not sure you are 100% correct, Yes the condo owners have a license, how many units did they sell to private investors? does their license cover them? only if they hand over the units to the condo management team, but if the private owners decide to airbnb will they be covered by that license, not sure,

A lot do go down the tunnel near the exit towards Rawai there is a Thai noodle shop my wife sometimes like to buy and we was parked opposite the exit but well off the road and I waited bye the car so in that 10 or 15 minutes I noticed 3 bikes come through the tunnel at that time it was dark, they have a police box there near to the 7/11 I've not seen any sitting there for ages,

Getting driving license with 100% legality. You don't have to come to the exam by yourself at the transportation. We can take the exam. Wait for the driver's license for 2-3 days.

I agree that the small mom & pop hotels and guesthouses have zero marketing knowledge but it would be good to at least see some intent to start accepting their own bookings. It's not that hard tbh. I've offered my services to other Thai hotel operators (friends of my partner) and no one was interested.

In the meantime I guess we'll just let Booking & Agoda bully us into submission.
 

In your case with Airbnb you are paying all the commission your guest pays nothing, maybe the people you were trying to help are only paying 3% to airbnb as a host, I think a small guest house setting up a web site and be able to accept online payments, is not worth it they would rather just pay the 3%. On top of that marketing their DBS, to much like hard work to some

According to booking.com, it is up 18% in the Rawai area, doesn't mention Chinese as being the number 1 on their platform
