  1. You can Google it, the way they cut (and tie) the vas deferens (the 'tubes') is exactly the same as in the 'old' vasectomy method, so there is no difference in effectiveness, it's the same thing... The only difference is how the 'entry' is made, they pull them out through that tiny hole, so they don't need to make big cut at all (since the vas 'tubes' are so long and flexible)... It's nothing new, just latest... non-scalpel method is used for 30+ years and in many hospitals is the only method now (and will be standard everywhere sooner or later). Many of my friends had it and highly recommend it, that's why I started this thread to find it in Phuket (but it seems that many hospitals do it here as well, so I didn't need to search for it eh ???? ). Anyway, this thread is for the people looking for the best value non-scalpel vasectomy in Phuket... I found it, and I finally did it this morning, very happy, will report here shortly ????
  2. Yeah here it's extra as well, ~600 in BKH Siriroj, they make appointment 1 month in advance and provide plastic cup to do it at home ???? (price at BKHP is 2-3 times up)
  3. (sorry if 2nd paragraph is in bold font, I didn't do anything, it's Asean.now problem, reported by others before as well ???? )
  4. Sure, both are safe and reliable... "New" method is not actually new, it's been around for 20-30 years already... Anyway hope this thread will help others looking for V-thing in Phuket later... I found what I was looking for, in Siriroj Hospital, and will update here after it's done ???? (to clarify: Bangkok Hospital Phuket also does non-scalpel method, their Dr. didn't explain it well at first... anyway, Siriroj price is almost 3x cheaper and surgeon speaks much better English, so the choice is clear)
  5. It's newer and better method... No cut, and much smaller wound = no stitches and less chance for infection... Healing & recovery is better and much faster, too... Anyway it will be standard everywhere sooner or later, currently only in better hospitals.
  6. They don't use a scalpel to make a cut, but some needle-like tool to make tiny puncture. No stitches, more convenient, faster recovery.
  7. Thanks but thread is about vasectomy in Phuket ???? Actually I thought about BKK PDA (5k), but when I got a deal in Phuket Bangkok Siriroj Hospital for 11k (non-scalpel, no stitch) I think it's better to do it here, considering added BKK flights and hotel fees, plus all the travelling hassle.
  8. Update for anybody who will be interested later: Siriroj Hospital (ex- Phuket International) is doing 'non-scalpel, non-stitches' method (Dr. Toranis), for half the price of their famous & fancy sister hospital ????
  9. Seems that many guys had 'no-scalpel' method in other places (BKK, Buriram...), even years ago, so I guess/hope they do it here in Phuket as well... Maybe I'll try to talk to talk different doctors in these hospitals (I talked to 1 doc in each of 3 hospitals I visited, but each has 2-3 docs / urologists)... that is, if nobody from Phuket chimes in here with 'no-cut' experience lol.
  10. I checked that place in BKK, it's 'PDA' clinic, not free anymore but not expensive (5k), but they require a birth certificates showing 2 or more kids... Anyway, I hope I can to do it here in Phuket... But the funny thing is: even this no-frills PDA clinic in BKK does the latest 'no-scalpel' method, but super-fancy Bangkok Hospital Phuket does not... go figure. If anybody did 'no-scalpel' Vas. in Phuket, please chime in, thanks ????
  11. I Googled a bit, and found only that Bumrungrad BKK advertises 'no-scalpel' method... Probably few other hospitals are doing it as well in BKK... But for Phuket, I can't find anything... A bit surprised that Bangkok Hospital Phuket being the 'best' and the fanciest here, is still doing the conventional scalpel method - especially for 30k price.
  12. Nope, but I expected 2-brick comment to appear earlier ????
  13. Hi, did anybody in recent years did a 'no-cut' ('no-scalpel', 'no-stitches', or how it's called) Vasectomy in Phuket? I checked Siriraj and Bangkok hospitals (25-30k) and was surprised to learn that they actually use a scalpel, especially for that price of 30k... Dr. said it's not really an "old" style, but "very small cut" ("0.5-1cm"??) and need to put 1 stitch afterwards... But I read online that in recent years it's done with some needle only ("no-cut"), and definitely no stitches required... Expected the same in Bangkok Hospital, of all... Any thoughts? Thanks. (PM's are welcome if anybody feels uncomfortable replying publicly ???? )
  14. Hi, as you can see in this (and other) threads, some guys with ex-V visa were denied on entry (on visa exempt, didn't had TR I think), and then they returned with a new passport with no issues... If you intend to come back with old V visa in your passport, you should definitely make proper Tourist Visa, and also very important to check with your visa agent if they can assist if border i/o try to deny your entry (some agents offer this 'special service', on certain airports, with certain officers ???? ).
  15. As two Dr's above said already - rent a ticket on Onwardticket.com ($14 valid 2 days, $31 valid 14 days) - it works, I used it few times for my gf's visa and check-in, they actually checked it, and it's valid & legit.
  16. Yes it's allowed... I even did it on the last day once, not advisable but allowed yes.
  17. I did it for myself and others, Onwardticket.com (14usd valid 48h), many times, and it always worked.
  18. Just buy Onwardticket.com for 14usd (valid for 48 hours) ????
  19. My reply was deleted for some reason... OK let's try shorter (and more PC) answers: 1) I don't see how they can verify it. 2) Actual ticket cannot be looked up without booking code (or ticket no.). Somebody correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers, Alex
  20. Some Thai embassies require travel history for e-Visa (past 12 months stamps in passport pages)... If London embassy doesn't need this, then you can apply e-Visa from wherever you are (you can rent flight ticket London to BKK for $14).
  21. Thanks, where was that DLT office? I'm in Phuket... You mean they required that owner's visa is still active, or they needed your visa to be other than tourist? (I'm on Covid extension now, later will do long term solution)
  22. Thanks... I was hoping that (PoA) was not necessary, as 5k is half of scooter cost ???? (old Yamaha Nuovo B10k, shopping bike)... Anyone think it could be done without PoA (Power of Attorney)? (wouldn't make sense, but as they say, anything is possible in LoS lol)
  23. I searched this topic, but couldn't find anything... I was thinking to buy my friend's old scooter, but she has left Thailand and might not come back anytime soon, green book is here (I helped her to update this year's registration / insurance)... Is it possible to do green book ownership transfer, if owner is not present? I asked few people, they said yes, because 'anything is possible in Thailand'... ? ????
  24. Hi I'm looking for reliable (and English speaking) motorbike repair shop in Kata / Karon / Chalong area (or anywhere in south Phuket), to get a full check and honest estimate for issues (ignition etc.) on my friend's old scooter... Any recommendations will be highly appreciated, I don't want my friend to get ripped off or even worse bad repair, thanks! ????
  25. Didn't do it myself, but passed by Sainamyen clinic in Patong the other day, and saw PCR test ads with results in 24, 12, 4 hours (only remember 12h=2.7k)
