  1. Thank you, this sounds great, I will go to main BKB branch in Phuket Town, I'm their customer too. They used POS-like machine to read your debit card, right? (mine is working on POS, not on ATM)
  2. Hi all, I searched this topic and only found the old ones in 2015-2016, and it was successful back then. Did anybody try Over-the-counter Cash advance from foreign Debit card in Thai banks recently? I have this weird situation where my UnionPay debit card (China ICBC bank) stopped working on ATM machines, BUT it works on all POS machines (shops, supermarkets, restaurants, everywhere)... I used this card for my export business dealings in China (I'm a foreigner and I haven't been there since 2019, so that's why they stopped E-banking & ATM function - they want me to show up at the branch and see if I'm still alive lol, but they kept POS function normal for some reason, it's like this for the past 1.5 year), I got some money accumulated there and I'd like to take out the cash, not just shopping. I visited smaller bank branches nearby and asked for cash advance over-the-counter, but they pointed me out to ATM, they didn't understand what I want... I was planning to go to downtown to try big branches, but I'd like to know if anybody did this successfully recently, for any debit/credit cards? (I also talked to a local travel agent I know, I gave them the idea to use their POS machine to take out the cash, and I would pay % commission of course, they said they will check about this and let me know, I expect they will ask for their service/help fee of course, which I would accept if it's reasonable) I'm based in Phuket... If anybody has a recent experience, or an idea how could I take the cash out in other way = thanks in advance!
  3. Did they force you to pay for the return flight? Is it direct flight from Phuket to Penang, or transfer via KL? How is the detention accomodation at Phuket airport? I heard it's better than BKK... It sucks they kept you there so long, probably the rule is to use same airline and same return point.
  4. Question for those who know a thing or two about visa agents (and lawyers) who could assist in a case like this: Is it too late for him to give a call to one of these and let them arrange a 'special service' (for a special price)? He is still at the airport and will be there until tomorrow... One user here mentioned that his friends got out of a similar pickle for 15k, I think.
  5. Such a bummer... SETV's were supposed to be safe for entry, but you probably got an officer having a bad day, as you said... As others said, you could try one on of 'safe' land border entries (but first inquire positive experiences with history similar as yours)... Same goes for flying into Chiang Mai... Safest (and pricy) bet would be using visa agent offering those VIP / Fast-Track (or whatever called) special services with guaranteed entry for a price... They can also assist in case of (attempted) entry denial like yours, again for a price (as user Jack... mentioned), but I guess it's too late since your denial is already finalized and you got it stamped, but if I'm you I'd call them anyway, before your deportation flight... it's TIT so who knows, $$$ goes a long way... In any case, hope you can update us here on the procedures and a return to Penang, and on your next entry attempt, I'm sure many here would be very interested, thanks in advance and good luck.
  6. Thanks for the answers guys. It was confusing as the supplier wrote both "pre-charged" and "need to charge", guess it was lost in the translation lol... Anyways I gave it a nice ride for 30min so I'm sure it's all good, thanks again ????
  7. New battery for my Aerox arrived (Yuasa YTZ7V, mfg April/2023, "sealed, maintenance-free, pre-charged"), do I need to do initial charge? If yes, can I just charge it while driving 20-30min, or maybe longer? (I don't have a charger) Or should I take it to a shop and charge for a fee?
  8. In other news reports (from UK and Singapore) it says that she actually "lost lower part of her left leg"... that's horrible.
  9. Another issue could come up when time comes to officially cancel this extension before it expires... Agent might say it's not necessary and suggest exit out of Thailand, but as I understand, extensions for work and study must be officially canceled before they expire?
  10. Wow, sorry to hear that about your friend... Personally I would not return with a passport with previous dodgy visa in it, I'd get a new one (even if they can see some history on their screen). Did he just hand all that cash to the I/O right there, or he had to call his visa agent to do the deal?
  11. Hi I never did 30-days visa exemption, so for the flight booking purposes I'm curious how the immigration is counting 30 days of stay, for example if arrival is May/1, will 'stay until' stamp be May 30th or 31st? (asking because before I know in HK and in China the immigration starts count from the 2nd day of arrival, meaning when 1st day was fully passed, so their 'stay until' stamps would be May/31)
  12. How long was her licence expired? One poster mentioned that his license was expired for more than 12 months so he has to do the tests.
  13. Hi I'm planning to apply for E-visa (SETV) in the summer when I'll be back in Europe getting my new passport... For the required 'financial proof' I'll use bank statement from my home country, I almost never use that account and it's always empty, so I plan to put some money in it now and keep it for 2-3 months until I apply. Does anybody knows what is the actual amount (and deposited time) they need for SETV E-visa? Some websites say $700, others $1000-5000, and one guy even show $0 bank statement and got the visa lol... Thanks!
  14. Need to pass 50 questions test to renew the license? I thought this is needed only 1st time when getting 1st licence (with driving test)?
  15. Ok so (thanks to kind posters here) we can conclude that entry i/o can easily link and see your previous passport's entry / exit history and entry visas used for the past 20 years... The only question remains, can they also see actual extensions issued inside Thailand (not just entry visas)?
  16. I think @stevehaigh could help with exact location (and contact if possible?), he went to mentioned shop today... Cheers
  17. Sorry does anybody knows if the muffler & exhaust pipe can be painted normally (due to their very high working temperatures)? I have beautiful Aerox and it looks like new, but (originally) black muffler and pipe are getting that ugly yellow rusty color... I wonder if it can be painted to original black, instead of buying pricey new one. If you guys think this is normally done, then I'll take it to one the shops from this thread ... Thanks.
  18. Did you manage to get in touch with them? I've been sending email to both addresses past 3 days, no reply... Before they usually reply in hour or so... I don't use Telegram, any other way to contact them?
  19. 'Thai PBS WORLD' logo in the text should be changed to '3rd WORLD' eh...
  20. Add me to the list: HK to BKB this morning 8am, small amount... Wise received my money in HK shortly, usually they pay out in 20min max, but now it's 4 hours and they keep moving expected time each hour... Maybe Wise<->BKB issue? Didn't try EU-BKB this month... Next time I'll just withdraw 30k on ATM, eh...
  21. Is this the same IDC in BKK where everybody (including the overstayers?) are stuck while waiting to be deported? As I remember one Hungarian died few years ago (similar like this guy, Doctor said "he was okay" before he died), and also one young American (or Brit?) before him died under very suspicious circumstances, it was in the news.
  22. Glad to know DL is enough, thanks all.
  23. Planning a road trip out of Phuket for some sightseeing... Passport is not with me, is Thai driving licence enough for Chatchai checkpoint? (if the checkpoint is still there?)
  24. Thanks, yeah I used them before and the service is good, pricey as expected, but very quick for a big brand SC... I'll check first in a small nearby shop if it's a small issue (power button etc.), but if it's a big one then I'll go to Samsung SC... I found a shop with good reviews 10 minutes from Kata (SA Mobile, Naiharn/Rawai area) I'll check them out first. Cheers ????
  25. Hi, my Galaxy S10 stopped working so I planned to take it to Phuket Town to check, just wondering where are the best repair shops, in Big C mall or in Central mall? (are other better shops in town area?) I'm in Kata, if anybody knows repair shop in Chalong / Karon that would be good too, thanks.
