  1. It's good if you're in BKK... Here in Phuket I didn't try one yet, few of them are based in Bangtao which is a bit far from my south location, will check them out sooner or later. Seen few Russian money exchange offices with BTC logos, didn't check them out lol.
  2. Quick Google search shows it's a bit shady (Paxful clone, accounts on sale online etc...), and requires KYC... Did anyone try it here?
  3. Good question, will follow this thread.
  4. Is it Binance.com (international) or Binance.us (if you're USA citizen)? I used international Binance.com, got verified without problem (passport), but cannot buy (my Thai debit and credit cards keep denying the payment, same as HK cards), same case with Kraken... so my only way was to get my own wallet and run around looking for OTC options.
  5. Do you know any good OTC in Phuket? Checked Cryptopida in their office but they require passport copy for "just an internal KYC".
  6. Can't you read or comprehend? He was murdered, execution style.
  7. Dr. Yong is back... Get your biohazard suits ready folks.
  8. Did anyone got Tourist visa in Kuala Lumpur recently, I'm curious about actual processing time? Website says "2-3 working days" so I'm not sure if I can get visa on Friday if I apply Wednesday morning? (I can't make it on Tuesday) Thanks!
  9. Appointments are OK, just now I checked the first available dates are November 21-25, and I'm going to KL next month so the appointment booking will be easy... I was just wondering about other's experience regarding that tricky requirement for th the hotel payment & tax number.
  10. Hi, did anyone recently apply for tourist visa at Thai embassy in KL? I'll be in KL for a week in December, so I'd like to try it while I'm there. There's that infamous requirement: "Proof of payment for the hotel (receipt must state the tax payer number of the relevant hotel)". I (like everyone else) will book the hotel on Booking or Agoda, where some hotels doesn't need any prepayment.. But to make them happy, I can book the hotel with prepayment option (and cancel later)... But there's still that part "hotel's tax payer number", how to go around that? It's impossible since we're dealing with booking website, and not with the hotel directly... Or should I just show them Booking / Agoda PDF confirmation printout? One guy did it earlier this year and it was OK... So I'm looking for more recent experiences, thanks! :-)
  11. @pomchop hi OP, just wondering how did your Thai visa attempt in Saigon went, all good or you had to go to another place / country?
  12. Is getting Thai visa easier in Laos than in Vietnam? (OP is in Vietnam currently) Just curious, thanks.
  13. Thanks God the East Europeans and Balts in 80-90's were not like you, they decided to "make waves" and got rid of Soviet shackles and bring down the USSR too, although it seemed mission impossible to many just a decade before that.
  14. Thanks for the update... Yeah they probably just don't want to do it... In BKB Central mall branch they told me that their "POS machine is broken" lol... Hope you'll get lucky in another bank and manager.
  15. Thanks all, so it's either 1 or 3 past statements, different for each embassy / consulate... So I'll email Budapest embassy to ask them, and will report here (if they reply).
  16. How many bank statements we need to show when applying for 60 days e-Visa, 1 month or more? Thai embassy in Hungary only says "bank statement" without specifying is 1 enough or not. I've seen some report says only 1 statement is ok, but some didn't. I'll plan accordingly and send $1k to my Croatia bank account (have not been there for years) to make sure it stays there long enough. Thanks!
  17. Yep you'll need to apply in one of the nearby embassies... Hope they will not ask to see the old passport (if new one is quite empty), like they are asking for e-Visa.
  18. I'll be in a similar boat like you OP, but I'm planning to be back in December... You got a new clean passport right? I wonder will they ask to see the old passport at the embassy during the application? (on e-Visa website they require "a copy of passport pages with past 12 months travel history", which could be a bit troublesome for us)
  19. Guys this question was already answered 3+ months ago when it was posted... Hopefully it will be helpful for others who search for this issue in the future... @BritTim Mods can close this thread thanks ????
  20. Thank you, this sounds great, I will go to main BKB branch in Phuket Town, I'm their customer too. They used POS-like machine to read your debit card, right? (mine is working on POS, not on ATM)
  21. Hi all, I searched this topic and only found the old ones in 2015-2016, and it was successful back then. Did anybody try Over-the-counter Cash advance from foreign Debit card in Thai banks recently? I have this weird situation where my UnionPay debit card (China ICBC bank) stopped working on ATM machines, BUT it works on all POS machines (shops, supermarkets, restaurants, everywhere)... I used this card for my export business dealings in China (I'm a foreigner and I haven't been there since 2019, so that's why they stopped E-banking & ATM function - they want me to show up at the branch and see if I'm still alive lol, but they kept POS function normal for some reason, it's like this for the past 1.5 year), I got some money accumulated there and I'd like to take out the cash, not just shopping. I visited smaller bank branches nearby and asked for cash advance over-the-counter, but they pointed me out to ATM, they didn't understand what I want... I was planning to go to downtown to try big branches, but I'd like to know if anybody did this successfully recently, for any debit/credit cards? (I also talked to a local travel agent I know, I gave them the idea to use their POS machine to take out the cash, and I would pay % commission of course, they said they will check about this and let me know, I expect they will ask for their service/help fee of course, which I would accept if it's reasonable) I'm based in Phuket... If anybody has a recent experience, or an idea how could I take the cash out in other way = thanks in advance!
  22. Did they force you to pay for the return flight? Is it direct flight from Phuket to Penang, or transfer via KL? How is the detention accomodation at Phuket airport? I heard it's better than BKK... It sucks they kept you there so long, probably the rule is to use same airline and same return point.
  23. Question for those who know a thing or two about visa agents (and lawyers) who could assist in a case like this: Is it too late for him to give a call to one of these and let them arrange a 'special service' (for a special price)? He is still at the airport and will be there until tomorrow... One user here mentioned that his friends got out of a similar pickle for 15k, I think.
  24. Such a bummer... SETV's were supposed to be safe for entry, but you probably got an officer having a bad day, as you said... As others said, you could try one on of 'safe' land border entries (but first inquire positive experiences with history similar as yours)... Same goes for flying into Chiang Mai... Safest (and pricy) bet would be using visa agent offering those VIP / Fast-Track (or whatever called) special services with guaranteed entry for a price... They can also assist in case of (attempted) entry denial like yours, again for a price (as user Jack... mentioned), but I guess it's too late since your denial is already finalized and you got it stamped, but if I'm you I'd call them anyway, before your deportation flight... it's TIT so who knows, $$$ goes a long way... In any case, hope you can update us here on the procedures and a return to Penang, and on your next entry attempt, I'm sure many here would be very interested, thanks in advance and good luck.
