  1. People often say that a clean passport doesn't help because it doesn't change the systems.

I beg the difference as these type of refusals is almost never due to the computer system but due to the IO his/her discretion,
and almost always after seeing many many used pages with visa's in the psychical passport.

However, when they see visa's like the non-o, they seem to not abuse this discretion + be careless of the history.
Any IO loves a clean thin passport with a brand new visa. I would have done that if refused already.

All that aside, I guess me is very lucky, I still have the same passport with even a 1y blacklist stamp in it.

  2. Immigration is so full of nonsense, if they gonna play me one more time, I'm ditching this country like a bar girl, no joke.
I don't care that they don't care. The point is I know, I do not wish to lower myself longer just to keep living here, neither do I wish that future for my son.

I start to feel selfish, to even still be here, towards my son, as his country of birth has nothing to offer him except BS and drama.
Hope they will have fun with their Chinese, Indians and Arabs.

Best to gather documents at the time, and keep them somewhere safe if you need them later.

    After, it's usually too late.

Yeah I got all documents + plenty copies of everything incl. mother passport / id card etc. But unsure how far that would get me without my son and her present.
The last time I applied for non-o in Vientiane they required signed docs + ID from my wife too, even the visa was based on the child.

No changes to the requirements for a non-o visa or extension of stay based upon being the parent of a Thai for many years.

I am talking about the fact, that you basically need another visa than non-o when the mother not helps you out, which then gets you stuck with the current policies. Makes this group of people really vulnerable at the moment, in my opinion and to my experience.

you don't mind government officials selling your personal information?

sure, it's just an email address.....as far as we know....

Passport scans are easier to get, just ask some hotel receptionists and you get hundreds per week. Low wages + corruption = result.
No reason to worry much, if you are a real target, any information will be found or arranged anyway.

  6. There is more behind their sudden closure if you ask me. First that exchange was used by a black market person who got arrested on Koh Chang, then a Facebook scam last saturday with this news following right after. Was also started by a foreigner, would not be surprised if a new one opens very soon and turns out to be fully Thai owned. I mean, they did not even bother to sell the business + no explanations given, makes no sense at all.

Anyway, LUNO is a good alternative but not as easy with local currency / bank accounts.

Final update . After travelling in the Philippines for 2 months, i flew back in today to Don Muang with the exact same Thai tourist visa.

Still valid, and no questons asked even about if I had a ticket out ( which i did have printed out and ready). I was stamped in for 60 days  as shoild have happened 2 months ago.

So seemingly   my story was right all along. I was the victim of one jerk IO who decided to detain me for 3 days without cause and then also try to screw me with Cambodian immigration with a false letter regarding my finances.

I eagerly await the apologies of the various know -it-alls on this forum  who were all too excited to say I was the problem.

    Have a great weekend

I am a non native English speaker and former visa runner with 1 year black list, arrived back without a visa in Phuket and got taken aside + let in:

Your English really sucks for an American who claims to have a degree + been teaching 15 years around the world.
I just read this entire topic and I heavily doubt the credibility of your story, suspect you lacking details that have caused you problems previously.

Neither do I buy the arguments of other posters here, that it can be blamed on your detention or the time of the day, I don't even manage to write like that drunk.
Your last post of 3 hours ago is of similar 'quality' too.

Maybe you can start speaking the truth and tell us where you really come from, and what happened before your denial in Thailand. You <deleted> someone off?

  8. Screaming before giving the business a chance, so consumer 2019. It is normal having to wait up to 2-4 weeks for a re-fund, it got nothing to do with KFC either but everything with the payment processor. So just be patient, and complain after a month of waiting instead.

Also, you most likely ordered online without paying attention to the last order times to get this issue.

Maybe the questions would be 'are Thais having to feed you' ? Can you afford the hospital bills ? Can being a monk classify as working ?

Don;t really see why a monk should be able to avoid anything that we have to comply with. We'd all become monks otherwise - since nowadays they all seems to be having sex, drinking, playing video games which seems alot like the life I am currently having to pay to do

Perhaps you should try for a month, maybe you found destiny in life.

  10. Perhaps because of the airline getting hassled over having to return farangs arriving in Thailand + being refused, resulted in instructions to airline staff to ask this for outgoing flights near by too? Or the staff misunderstood it and was perhaps instructed to originally only do this with flights TO Thailand rather than also FROM Thailand?

Regardless, must have been a really annoying moment & not making it so motivating to take holidays knowing the potential issues.

I have the same problem. I always ask myself what was there before and blame myself that I am so forgetful. They should put there a picture what is gone. Sometimes I look on Google Street View.

Perhaps they build a high rise building with many bars. Can't imagine that anything else fits there.

Except that the bars would likely to become expensive shops, a mini mart and laundry shop, where nobody buys.
Nobody buys into property with prostitutes / bars right at the entrance level... At least, I doubt those buyers they have in mind will.

Your anger is a fault of your own doing, not immigrations.

Making assumptions and comments about a persons sexual orientation when they are doing their assigned duties, reflects on your values, biases, and intolerances.

O please, another new freak rule in the year 2019?
Just for your information: 98% of the world is straight, expecting straight people to think that the 2% is normal, with their dozens of nicknames, is rather strange.

Also, I will start using any of those things when I am angry, is got nothing to do with me when being relaxed, neither how I think.

The web sites I've visited so far said 3 full working days. Can you point me in the right direction?

Just pay for the priority service on one of them and it saves time but regardless: you have 3 days of time, so what is the real problem?
Agree immigration is annoying as f..k but you can also create additional problems yourself by complicating things for no reason.

If you have land etc, you should be able to loan, send it abroad and back + done is your yearly visa. Wish I had those options on the table.
Mean this in a good way, if you have such options, use them.
