My 3 recent deliveries the Kerry drivers were on the ball. Showed me the screen, asked if ok he sign for me, took my photo with the package (I assume in case I later denied delivery) and off he went. My regular driver for paleorobbie deliveries asked me to use my own pen to sign the paper, not use his. Still had paper but no choice. Our regular postman smiled (behind his mask) when I held out a plastic bag for him to drop the package in.
Most have got the message.
Also, does anyone know why a Lazada search for 'face masks' ends with 'no results'? Been like that for weeks, zero options for face masks. Local mom and pop now stock so not an issue. Lazada never turns up zero in a search.
If you're looking for face masks on Lazada go to the Health and Beauty category, subcategory Personal Care. Plenty of masks available. Received delivery of some this week, Bangkok to Hua Hin in 2 days.

So now people are drinking in the restaurants, where the risks are just as bad.

I've lived in Hua Hin for 3 years, and I love living here, but I wouldn't come here if this was to be my big Thai holiday. There's really not much to do here compared to other places in Thailand. I can think of a lot of other places I'd go for my getaway holiday.

I don't believe any "food-selling establishment" in Thailand complies with hygienic regulations.

My girlfriend's visiting young niece (13) was concerned, because her friends were "developing" more than she was. I told my gf to tell her that if she drank more milk her breasts would grow bigger/faster. Turned her into a milk chugging monster.

The chance of Thailand entering a recession is 20%, I know very little about economics, but I wouldn't call 20% chance teetering.

4 hours ago, Nip said:You have received some good and some bad advice herein. All I can offer is a friend's daughter was raped and it was recommended she attend Sri Thanya goverment psychiatric hospital in BKK for care. My friend was reluctant for all the preconceived ideas of mental hospitals but he reported that the care his daugher received was excellent and not at all what he expected that is the doctors were very knowledgable and caring and the residential accommodation on site more than acceptable. To most who attend it's appearance is not unlike a general hospital. You will find understanding and qualified advice here?
What he is describing does not sound like a mental condition, but a neurological condition, brought on by age. As such, a psychiatric hospital might not be appropriate. My mom had Alzheimers Disease and was diagnosed and treated by neurologists, not psychiatrists. Yes, these disciplines can be related, but not necessarily so.

Joke.
Sarcasm because this story NOT about foreigner tourist throw rubbish in national park.
when I say I will shoot them, I thinking shoot thai people, not the foreigner.
is in the thai news. NOBODY mention the foreigner. Not many foreigner go there. Is 99.9% thai.
But people like Fex want to make it story about himself. Nobody even think about the foreign tourist in the Nan national park.
“Every single one of us” do not think same Fex. Sure.
Sorry Fex, this in the thai news. Not about you. Thai not care about you same you imagine. You not important in Nan, sure.
You ever go to Nan Fex?
If mean foreign tourist would say “foreign tourist”
Maybe not wonderful imagination like you.
Here is what really happen Fex.
Calm down, not same you imagine.
Tourists is not a good word to use in this instance. You are not a "tourist" to a national park, you are a visitor. I took it to mean all visitors, foreign and Thai. If they had just said visitors a lot of confusion would be avoided.

People are people all over the world, and there are slobs in every country of every nationality. If Thais are a little behind in conservation efforts I say better late than never. Even if this takes a long time to catch on with the population the alternative is to do nothing. There are many environmentally conscious Thais who care.

I can feel your pain, but there's an easy solution. All government hospitals have a Psychiatrist. Most of them speak a good English.
They even have open on Saturdays.
Go there alone and discuss it with one of the doctors who understands your situation.
Then take your dad to the hospital and they'll prescribe him medication that will not just help him, but also you to be able to get him home.
If you need more details, please drop me a message.
If your father has something like Alzheimer's Disease, which from what you say sounds plausible (my mom had it). The diagnosis would have to be made by a neurologist, not a psychiatrist. There are drugs that can slow the progression of Alzheimer's, and even improve the condition, but only a little bit and they are really only effective in the early stages of the disease.

I concur with the other posters here who recommend you seek legal advice on getting power of attorney over your dad. We had to do that for my mom who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. Good Luck.

Good idea. Every little bit helps. Obviously, some people here are not reading the full article, or do not comprehend what it is saying.

Why would Spain want him back? He murdered a fellow Spaniard and mutilated his body in a gruesome way. The "circumstantial" evidence was quite conclusive.

Isn't it contradictory to say that Thailand is the first Southeast Asian country to legalize medical marijuana and then say they are seeking to become a bigger player in Asia's expanding cannabis market? Aren't they the only player in this market?

I'm thinking of renting a small apartment for 6 months for the high season to be used probably just on weekends. I'm here on a retirement visa and renting a condo full time. Is this permissible? Would I have to do 90 day reporting for both residences?

Several years ago my girlfriend took the English classes at the YMCA in Chiang Mai (which is rated one of the best in Chiang Mai). The first few modules were taught by "English speaking" Thais, before being taught by Farangs in later modules. She would show me her workbook and what the teacher was having them do. I was always telling her "this is wrong, this is not how we speak or write" ( one of my university degrees is in English literature). She mentioned this to the teacher, who told her don't listen to him and don't have him teach you anything. Huh?

If you look at other countries that have legalized for recreational use, they started with legal medical weed, and it took years for recreational use to be approved. Even a very liberal state like California took years to move from medical to recreational.

If you are living in Thailand or you stay here as a tourist for a couple of days, you know that there are no trash bins. Cigarette butts are very small. You can put them in an empty cigarette package or a small portable ashtray wearing with you in your pocket. If everybody argue like you, the streets would be invisible under all kinds of garbage.
I am a smoker but never let the butt fell down when I finished my cigarette.
Well said. I strip down the butt and put the filter in my pocket or somewhere else on my person until I can find a receptacle. I've had non-smokers, who've seen me doing this, thank me. It takes very little effort.

I am a smoker, but I fully support the smoking ban on beaches, as long as there are designated smoking areas. Not so much for health reasons, but because it is unsightly to have butts littering the sand. Having said that, I've never, since the ban went into effect, seen a law enforcement official on any beach I've visited.

Malaysia is where companies will like to look at locating their business.
Why does it keep going down under the junta? Didn't they declare war on non Thai English teachers. Met lots of Filipinos teaching in the countryside of Thailand. Wonder how Thailand fares with Chinese proficiency. They should learn one or the other.
Not just the countryside, I've met quite a few Filipinos who teach English in Bangkok. They come down to Hua Hin for a weekend at the beach.
