It costs me $35 Canadian for an international drivers license. I'm curious how much in the fine for driving without a license? And if you get stopped, fined for no license or helmet, do you just get the ticket, and sent in your way, with no license and helmet or are you know looking for a taxi?
If you’re a Thai, you get a ticket and I think 30 days to pay. If you’re a farang they impound the bike at roadside until you can show that the ticket has been paid and you’re allowed on your way.
Generally in Pattaya they’ll fine you 500B for each offence although the official rate is lower. It’s not worth arguing though unless you want to waste a few hours of your time in the station.

No you don't. I see only tourists pulled over. Though agree that skin colour likely did not play a part. Just an obvious tourist with no helmet and no shirt.
Nope, when in town I often frequent one of the bars right by that checkpoint late afternoon as it’s good entertainment value watching the BIB go about their business. Was there only a few days ago and seen them stop a female local who was conservatively dressed and even wearing a helmet. Admittedly I’d say 90% of stops are farangs but I regularly see them stopping their own.

Please. Be careful.
Olaf used to occasionally eat in my Mrs’ Thai cafe/restaurant and was a member of the Outlaws MC. They are nothing to do with Hells Angels MC (in fact they hate each other in general) and confusing them to their face would be considered a insult and result in you definitely getting a mouthful if not more. This isn’t “club” related at all as they would never involve civvies let alone women. My take is that either one has tried to rip off the other or it’s a business deal gone wrong, possibly even a hit or warning gone wrong on behalf of someone else.

Reminds me of the time that after a heavy session in a beer garden in Bangkok after missing my connection to Samui, I took a wrong turn after going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and locked myself out of my room. Had to go down 4 floors starkers and then wave my hand out of the lift door in an attempt to grab security/reception's attention without drawing too much attention from anyone else. Going back up in the lift with the security guard with me standing there with with my just hands covering myself and this bloody lift music in the background was surreal and like something you only see in a movie. The reception staff found it highly amusing when I checked out the following morning.

Agreed. H&S law in the UK requires the top rail of any scaffold to be a minimum of 950mm height. Comparing the height of those rails to the people in the photograph I would say that they were around that height at least.-

I suppose flights from Gatwick indicate that BA regards Bangkok as a bucket-and-spade destination.
I'm not so sure, both Qatar and Emirates appear to have re-routed a lot of their flights out of Gatwick so not sure if anything going on with Heathrow? BA are a pile of crap though!

Gratuitous advice rejected. Take your own advice and get lost in the underbelly of whatever capital you reside in. Are you confused, by any chance? You don't know where I am, do you? Maybe right behind you.
In other words you haven’t got the minerals to step out of that bubble of yours? -

So you're prepared to make anonymous uncorroborated, baseless assertions about a man's guilt on this forum, but completely bottle it when making them in person in real life? Just as I thought. It goes for all the other weasels on this forum taking cheap shots at him. Easy from behind a keyboard.
I'll give you a bit of advice. Take a step out of that condo bubble or whatever it is that spout all your drivel from and make some friends with the real people in the underbelly of the capital. You'll soon be surprised at what you see and what you here.

How much?
Open to negotiation I suppose but from recollection this person paid about 10000B for a few days whilst his flight was sorted out. That was about 10 years ago though.-

I know that for a fee you can get your own air-con separate room in IDC. And no it's not from personal experience but that of someone that got kicked out.

The devil s in the details. A life sentence is not what you would believe it to be 🫢 If the statement had been a minimum of 10 years, would you believe it, because that's what it the time to be served probably was.
In the UK, there is whole life, life, and indeterminate, subject to periods of incarceration called tariffs penal sentences.
- A whole life order means you will never be released from prison, except in exceptional compassionate circumstances.
- An indeterminate prison sentence does not have a fixed length of time. The sentencing judge will set a minimum period of time to be served (called a ‘tariff’) before the prisoner is considered for release by the Parole Board. Indeterminate sentences are given for serious offenders (usually violent repeat offenders) who are a danger to the public.
- A life sentence typically comes with a minimum incarceration period, e.g. 10 years. The parole board will then consider releasing the prisoner on "license".
In the UK Class A drug production and selling offences come with a "life" penalty.
It can be as little as 8 years in the UK with good behaviour.

I assume that most of the three Iranian women have Iranian husbands. 🤷🏼♂️
How the holy hell could those serious, truly believing Islamic men get "tipsy" if their religion not allows the consumption of alcohol?
Fake Islamic scum, criminal Chinese ... Thailand needs more of that Elite. 🤦🏼♂️
What makes you think they are Muslim just because they are Irani?-

I have to say that I've had worst nips off my 3 legged Thai Ridgeback when he wants to play.
However, a Pitbull as with any other dog should not be left to roam free in public places, especially if it has the habit of nipping/biting people. If the IP had responded/retaliated the wrong way, things could have been far worse.

I have to agree. Just from the photos and the state of the kit, it looks like something out of the 70s in the Western world. Hope that they are all ok?

Journalists want to stay healthy.

The Mrs' ex boss runs a small newspaper/media outlet that feeds some of the majors and as well as local topics, specializes in alleged social injustice such as this. He is also a lawyer though who has worked alongside the likes of Sittra, so he is fully aware of his legal liabilities. I have no doubt that he takes risk that could be hazardous to his health but I'm pretty confident he's fairly connected too.
I have to say that I admire the guy for his stance.

Even if just in transit at not clearing immigration, in cases like this the airline has to obtain confirmation that the other side will accept you before they will allow you to board. Here they would also have to obtain permission from Turkey and the UK in advance. A friend had a similar issue some years ago when returning from Prague to the UK via Amsterdam. Funnily enough the Netherlands were fine but the UK Border Force were the balls ache despite him flying out of there on a return ticket only a few days earlier.

Owners of the dogs are liable for bites I believe, even if they are only deemed unofficial owners.
Tetanus and Rabies shots and even minor bite treatment can end up close to 50k.
50k fines every time might change things
It's not cheap but I think you're exaggerating a little there?
I got bit on Samui before and the total bill for treatment on the day including tetanus, 1st Rabipur and optional immune globular (13000B) directly into the wound came to around 25000B and that was at the Bangkok Samui. I didn't like the way I was treated whilst they were waiting for my insurance to authorise payment, so never went back and got the remaining 4 shots of Rabipur for about 800-1000B from local clinics and smaller hospitals. Had I gone to them in the first place, the initial bill would have been a hell of a lot cheaper but as my insurance was paying and I was a bit naive about the BS, I didn't really care.

I can understand the locals' annoyance. I got bit by a German guy's dog whilst I was sat talking to him in a quite part of Cheongmon Beach in Samui some years ago. The local lady owner of the adjacent eatery wanted me to stay around and wait for the police as the dog had bitten many times before and she felt it could be driving customers away. I had other ideas and wanted to get to the hospital.

Appearing at Pattaya Provincial Court should be enough. Especially when he surrenders on the morning and they put him in the big holding cell with the locals, some wearing forged leg irons. That and then being marched into the courtroom in file and seeing the big chair is a rather sobering thought. I can smile at it now but sh*t myself at the time!
