If every runner takes home a lungful of Bangkok's toxic dust, that will help the city.

It's similar to picking up roadside trash. They might get a praise on someone's Facebook.

Besides, they can't publicly admit this especially with international runners present.

I really hate it when you people give them ideas

If only your apology were genuine.  I never mentioned Chinese or Russians.  I have lived and worked with Chinese people but not Russians and can only comment on how judgmental some of the former group tended to be.

I really can't see how you turn this around into an attack on my wife by alleging she is judgmental.  I was the one looking at facial expressions and inferring what their reactions seemed to be; and yes, I do have a few years of experience in this field.

You seem to have a very strong opinion and dislike of Pattaya and all the old men who live here.  Perhaps it is a little judgmental to consider them all the same?

If you fail to see the humour in my original post, which was purely to show that people tend to judge others on sight without knowing all the facts, then I really do feel sorry for you.

Yep, it's ok for you and your wife to judge, but not other tourists who came to the sex capital of the world.

    Carry on.

The social experiment as you call it was nothing more than showing my niece that it is wrong to judge without knowing the facts, a point you seem to have missed.  My wife, of almost 20 years now, was not at a distance but only a couple of yards behind us; she too has the seen the looks of judgmental people when I have held her hand in public!  "Pattaya of all places" is a very judgmental comment.

Sorry, I apologise. I take everything back.

An old man in Pattaya surely showed those Chinese and Russians how judgemental they are. You should have told them about it and they would prostrate in shame, fo sho

Next time tell your wife who's judging other foreigners from the distance (the irony) to take a video and post it on YouTube. That will teach the world a lesson who are judging old men like yourself in Pattaya.

I think you have just proved my assertion that people like to judge.  You have my sympathy if you are disturbed by my action of holding my niece's hand; we often hug as well!

I was talking about your little "social experiment" that you conducted in Pattaya out of all places, while your wife observed from the distance. If you really didn't care what people think then you wouldn't put your niece to be a bait in your little ego stroking game. You must have enjoyed all the attention you got from the passers by?

    Twisted.

Walking through basement of Central Festival during Xmas time with my niece I thought I'd check reactions and held her hand.  She is 20, very tall and pale skinned, and could pass for our daughter even though both her parents are Thai.  My wife followed behind to observe.

    Quite disturbing.

Mind boggles that you would actually post this on a public forum.
