  1. I have noticed advertisements around lately for Detox here and there. Has anyone had any experience with that here in Thailand?

I have been thinking about trying it but I have no previous experience and am not sure what to expect.

Try my detox machine, you will feel relax after the 30 min treatment.

  2. In the next days I have to go to Singapore. As my third visa exemption on arrival is near its expire date, I thought to ask for a tourist visa, single entry 60 days + thought to ask for a tourist visa, single entry 60 days. Are they issuing tourist visas or have they joined the policy of Yangoon, Manila and Phnom Pehn ? How much time does it take to have the visa processed ? If you go in the morning of tuesday 12 Feb can you collect it in the afternoon of wednesday 13 ? Are there any holydays on such days ?

thought to ask for a tourist visa, single entry 60 days= They will give you the 60 days tourist visa without any Questions i suppose.

thought to ask for a tourist visa = this one i dun know.

  3. Hi All

I have a few large pots in the garden in which I keep some fish ( what in the UK would be considered tropical fish) mollies, guppies etc.

Now I notice that a few of them have acquired what I believe are called fish lice, they have a barbed hook which they insert into the fish usually in the gill area and presumably live off the host. :o

I know these fish only cost about 20 baht for 5 but I would rather not have them consumed alive.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the lodgers without having to empty the pots and start afresh? Also do these lice perish when the host eventually dies or transfer to another victim?

    Any info appreciated

    TBWG :D

Get a pail put some water ( just enuff for the fish to survive) and put all your infested fish inside...... rememeber to put salt into your pots once a month.

Thanks ajarn, its san kampeng road.do they have silk egg for sale ?

I'm not sure, but they will know where you can buy..

    Thanks again ajarn.

  6. They keep coughing today and vomit some white foam. WHat happen to them ? Are they choke or something ?

    1) Chicken bone is not good for dog (and any bone) coz it's hard to digest and also makes dogs get constipation

Furthermore.. the pattern of chicken 's bone fracture is sharp ..it can make GI tract get a prob .

I dont recommend you to feed your dog with anykind of bone..unless you glind it as powder

    2) The sign that you have mentioned ..It's not vomit..It's sort of saliva ..and your dog get "Kennel Cough" ..(tracheobronchitis )

    Causes - Virus or Bacteria

Go to see the vet ..He/she will give you some medicine as

    - Antibiotic for preventing 2nd Bacterial infection ,Pneumonia

    - Antitussive/Cough suppressants as Dextromethrophan

    - Short course of steroid can be helpful

    Thanks again ....

    Hey Red bicycle,

  8. There is a good medical shop in the corner where you go into Night Bazaar from Main Streeet, almost opposite 7-eleven. I don't know if they got Chinese medicines but some people name this place the "Chinese place".

    :o:D :D

    Thanks all

I will try at both place.... as well as mae sai.

  9. Some of the larger tourist boats from China to Thai stop at Xieng Kok [ask first]. If you have a Laos visa you can get off there. Then either catch another boat or travel overland thru Lao. Not good road wet season..

Lao immigration may want to see a visa for Thai

YEah those fruit boat can stop at xieng kok but its not available at this season.

  10. I took a boat there cost me 7500 baht on two way ( 4000 baht one way) I bought the ticket from the a agency Just opp the jetty itself. Four lens in chiang rai offer me 5500 baht one way. The view along the way to china is just fabulous.

I went there on 25 dec 2006 , 6am thai time but the boat could not leave until 8.00 am becos of fog. I reach Guan lei at around 6.00pm to stamp pasport and we could not continue due to the china side dun allow nite travelling. I stay in Guan lei for a nite and carry on the 2 hr boat trip to jinghong at around 10am.

Thanks for that, I hear a lot about Mekong boat trips but little at first hand. Is this a daily run up to Jinghong? How did you get back? Did you need Lao or Myanmar visas or just Chinese? Is Jinghong worth spending a few days?

The schedule is every monday, wed and sat. I took a bigger boat back as there are around 30 passenger compare to chiang saen- jing hong only 5 persons. I dun need any visa to go to china but my galfrens ( thai) took only china visa. the visa fee 1000 baht ( 4 days), 1800 baht (2-3 days) and 2500 baht for 1 day. The submition of visa is until 11 am i think. the tour agency will help you to get the visa if you give him 1500 baht.

Jing hong and teh surround province is a really nice place but provided that you can speak chinese ..... LCR beer is really nice and cheap in china only around 10 baht , tell them you wanna Yi guan Lan Cang River .....

  12. 450THB/sqm is an absolute bargain, and probably of grade 'c' quality. It will be 8mm Thickness rather than 12mm.

Grade 'A' 12 mm laminate runs at between 700-800THB/sqm. This price usually includes the installlation from the manufacturers though. For example, Leowood (crappy company, but decent quality material (though of dubious origins)) Leofloor Plus 12mm is 800thb/sqm, including install.

German standard makes the most expensive laminate on the market, called the Millenium is actually more expensive than solid wood.

Beware cheap laminates. You need to know about the construction of the laminate, how many layers of laquer etc etc. Your equipment also needs to be new as cutting laminated boards with old cutting equipment results in joint problems. Also, 90% of either solid or laminate floors in Thailand are installed with the grain going in the wrong direction. Make note of this. It completely changes the 'feel' of the room believe it or not.

I dun know but i got it from http://www.pergo.com.sg/ years ago $1.80 / sqm ( contractor price) without installation of course. I got to check with them how many mm i got last time ?
