  1. But very much depending on location, people "have to" go with mixed vaccines, and can't choose 2x Pfizer or 2x Moderna. That's (apparently) a no-no for a Thai person in Chonburi province. I heard of people from Roi Et (mixed) going to Buriram (2x Pfizer) to get their jabs!
  2. They contribute to the problem, but they're not the root cause. People will get their fill, whatever it takes and wherever.
  3. That thing seems to work as before. Used it with Lazada yesterday (11th) - no issue.
  4. There used to be a time when journalism was an artform. Apparently it's now another lost one!
  5. That's simplification almost down to the fairytale level. But that's what's been a popular tactic ever since the McCarthy days, and it worked out well for the weapons manufacturers - one brilliant profit quarter after another. The fact that the US has been chased out of Vietnam and Afghanistan is something that one day might find an explanation in the history books (and those are written by: exactly...), but the mighty military forces haven't seen anything yet that even remotely compares to what China, and possibly brother-in-arms Russia, can throw into the game. The remarkable thing is, however, that China didn't go all-out serious until the US & lapdogs started economic war and arms build-up against them. As for buying 1-3 submarines: however reality-deprived it may be, it's a commercial deal and not much more. Relatively speaking, it's not much money, and thus what it yields is - uhm - not much either. You get what you pay for. To suggest, however, that those floats might be trackable, just like Huawai mobiles, is a direct Marco Rubio white line on a mirror with razorblades...
  6. Make that The Creation (1967) - brutally wonderful group back then, with a guitarist who bowed solos!
  7. Exactly. It means whatever they declare it to be 2 days before 1st November. I have yet to read anything on "no quarantine", no stupidly expensive PCR tests (we sell you the cheaper ones but don't use them - they're not reliable), no busload trips with back to the hotel in the evening (and so forth).
  8. Switzerland ???? Lots of guns in the country's homes, but mostly because of military regulations, and hardly any abuse.
  9. That's not going to help in court! Don't rely on word of mouth. I'm sure you're allowed to defend yourself within reason. If the intruder turns up dead, they might well conclude that your actions where not within reason...
  10. AFAIK, "was charged" is not quite accurate. The police took him in for questioning.
  11. Yes, right, meanwhile... Are you quoting some quacks or home remedies websites (often by quacks), or are you actually a specialist in the matter? If not, please read up on Ivermectin here: https://www.fda.gov/consumers/consumer-updates/why-you-should-not-use-ivermectin-treat-or-prevent-covid-19 Treating horses or heart worms, right?
  12. I think it's not just Wise that has the THB 2 million limit; it may be a general limit. Talk to your Thai bank! Also, the full sum for a condo doesn't need to come in one lump; it can be several money transactions, but you will need a FET statement for each from your bank, to take to the Land Office. It is possible to send <deleted> ds through Wise to Bangkok Bank or Kasikornbank; they will write a statement that the funds are from abroad. Consult the help pages in the Wise website on the how-to. Saves a large pile of money vs. SWIFT transfers (mostly bc. exchange rate, somewhat relativized by Wise fees, but you still save big!)
  13. Also see: Hong Kong, where clearly Western guys directed locals in "optimized mayhem".
  14. My gf's sister, working for a food packaging company in BKK, fell sick, even after a first Sinovac shot. With a lot of effort, she could find/buy a "quick Covid-19 test" that confirmed her being positive. No single hospital in the entire BKK area that she phoned would accept her for a PCR test (because they would have needed to accomodate her with a positive result, and they're all full to capacity!), which is the requirement of her home district (Roi Et) to "take her home" and treat her locally. Together with my gf, they self-organized a transport to take her to a hospital in her home district - at the cost of almost a month's salary. The hospital tested her, but she had to wait "outside" for 24 hours for the results before she could be admitted. "Outside" was an unused shack on her parent's farmland (which later got desinfectant-sprayed by men in astronaut suits). Long story short: you don't want to get infected and in need of a hospital in BKK... As a PS, after a week, she was fine again and left the hospital for self-quarantine for another 14 days.
  15. The most usual reason is that the date when you're doing it online needs to be between 14 and 7 days before the previous 90-days expires. If it's too early or too late ( = not within this timeframe), you'll get a message telling you to go to Immigration in person (without a specific reason). Another thing that can go wrong is if you've never done a 90-days "turn" (online or in person) before - the number of the landing card in your passport isn't in the system yet. One registration in person, and after that, you should be good to go online.
  16. It's a mystery - same as with other countries one could mention. Maybe it's just a general incompatibility between good governance and brains
