  1. The location is too far from Khon Kaen, there is nothing to do there..Kranuan ....however look at Khon Kaen..lots of places to go..not confined to one single location

  2. For a fact in Khon Kaen, English friend driving car was arrested, no bail but had to appear at court..8,800 baht

Thai friend driving motorcycle again arrested 5,500 baht.

Other cases I know of were the same fines but also some community service of 30 hours

  3. I can't believe the negative answers from some of you on here, what is it with you ? do you stand up for Thais in all things ? believe me you are not Thai and never will be, accepted ? yes but never Thai.

Obviously these things happen here and no any Thai would not have put up with this crap.

Take off the rose tinted specs and see it clearly

I was involved in an accident were the lady on motorbike, very drunk & driving up the wrong side of the road (also no tax & insurance) swerved & hit me head on....I was not drinking..who was to blame..me. A crowd had gathered and then two copper tops show up and wanted to arrest me, I am fortunate to have an aquaintance in the police who showed up after a call and soon dispersed the two cops and the crowd.

Who was left to pay for the damage to the car..me through my insurance.

  4. I am attending a course next week in Samut Prakan and was going to head into the city on the last night for a meal and a few drinks, question is ....

How is the city centre for say getting dropped off at Nana Hotel ? rough idea on time if possible

    Thanks

  5. I honestly can't believe many of the comments here, the European airlines are obliged under EU charter to provide accomodation and meals for stranded passengers.

Many comment on whingeing & whining, get a grip as you do not know each individual passengers circumstances....yes there maybe a few overreacting to the situation but probably just a few.

The only one on here with any real insight into this situation is SICA the biggest majority of the posters are plain selfish...f*** that I'm alright Jack !

    W******!!!!

  6. As the card says it is a debit card and the money comes off your account right away, I have used mine here for over 6 years and never had a problem, although my registered address with the UK bank is in Thailand

  7. MCA,

had mine done last trip home and was impressed, little mob go out past airport and on towards Ban Thum....RHS is turn off for Dan Coon Golf course, when you u-turn at lights it is the shop next to the Shell garage

  8. As mentioned just look for Pullman (before was The Sofitel), tallest building in KK, and shopping centre is called Oasis very close to it

  10. Buffaloe,

the lake Jocsum is talking about is Nong Kuut, leaving KK from Srichan Road i.e go through the arch and come to traffic lights and KK Ram is facing you, go staright over and past the Ram slight right hander and follow road down to roundabout, straight over again (maybe slightly left) and follow road for about 2 - 300m and lake is on the left.

If you need equipment, bait, etc excellent shop is when you approach the lake it will be on your left and the shop is almost opposite the left hand turn on the right hand side.

I have fished this lake for years and personally find it is all fished out as many nets are set up around it.

Other option is fishing park on Mithaprap Road....go on Korat highway and past Tesco Lotus about 2 or 3km, you will pass PTT garage on left and take the next U-turn and then almost immediately a left again..follow road all the way down and easy to find as is signposted. Mostly Pla Sawai to catch and many big ones there, food and drink available.

I live on a small lake near army base at airport and has been closed for fishing for over two years although never been stopped fishing as poach at night time, good fish here Pla Nin, Pla Duk, Pla Chon, Pla Tapien, Pla Nonchan and many more...

I hear from Thai friends when certain lakes are open (normally about the day before, through the grapevine) and normal cost is about 100 baht per rod.
