You have to be a Chinese citizen or legal resident of China to apply for a Thai visa at the embassy or any of the consulates in China.
It is 24 hours of your arrival at your residence not the country.
They don't expect you report within 24 hours if the office is closed. They are not all that strict on the 24 hours.
As I wrote you only need to do one if you need to something at immigration.
Applying for an extension may require one now but it may not be needed in few months since there is a lot of discussion about changing the requirements.
Thank you UbonJoe

Unless you are Chinese or a legal resident there you will to be apply for a visa there.
For the TM30 Monday or Tuesday would be ok. But not really needed unless you will doing something at immigration.
You mean a Chinese Visa?
TM30 should be done within 24 hours after entered in Thailand, it don't? Is it based on working days? Last month to extend for two months my visa, the IO asked me the TM30, so seems I need to do it.

In a month I will have to leave the Kingdom to get a new NON-O visa. I want to try going to Shanghai, at the consulate. Does anyone have experience in this regard? Do you remember the documents you need to present? Thank you.
Second question: I intend to return to Thailand on Friday evening, as we do with the TM30, given that during the weekend the beautiful employees at Chaeng Wattana rest?

To apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife she will need to be with you.
You will need you need your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card.
Thanks for overtime you resolve my doubt Joe, you're always fast.
"a Visa to visit wife" I think only Thailand has this kind of visa, discriminating farangs and who wants to have what a family require: stability. That's seems to rent a wife, go home work and when you have enough money you can ccame here and spend it all feeding your wife and our economy.

This week my Non-O-Visa will expire. I don't have enough money in my bank account to apply for a 1 year extension, so I choose to an extension of two months through TM.7 form. Anyone who has recently experience? What is the correct paperwork? Need to take the marriage certificate?
Thanks for the answers.

If you have a new arrival card number, then best to do the TM30.
Yes I've done yesterday. My problem is not to do or not to do, but is terribly stressing because I live in Bangkapi district, and every time I go there is around 2 hours on the road and 500 baht for the taxi driver. All of these waste of time and money for a Sign that could be do by a simple Police Station near home.

You can apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage at a immigration office during the last 30 days of your 90 day entry.
You will need 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income.
No need to leave the country after you get the extension unless you want to.
I will accept a loan from you ????
joking. Anyway, I just done the TM.30, arrived at Chaeng Wattana at 2 o'clock, wait in queue just 25 minutes.

He is writing about a multiple entry non-o visa that allows unlimited 90 day entries for a year from the date of issue.
Yes, I understood he is writing about the multiple entry non-o visa.
But the single entry can be extended for more 60 days paying 1900 baht at IO?

You do not have to leave every 90 days go to your local IO & get an 60 days extension for 1900 Baht based on seeing your wife /child then after that you will need to go over the boarder so its every 150 days you leave Thailand & if done right you can use that same visa for nearly 17 months with 3 boarder runs
Non- Imm "O" (single entry) can be extended for 60 days at IO, then should cross the border and do another Visa, right?

That depends upon if you plan on doing something at a immigration and the office you would do it at.
plan to do a stay extension based on marriage

It's always a pleasure to read experience about people that understood the real sense of life and the right balance. Respect.
In such era the majority of the people go to metropolis to harm their lives, only a few people are smart enough to pursue the opposite direction.

So just to confirm quickly, for the multi entry non O based on marriage to a Thai, you just need:
Your original marriage cert.
Copies of the below, signed by the Thai spouse:
Marriage cert front.
Their Tabien Bahn front page showing the addresss, and their page.
Their ID card front and back.
Your passport ID page.
Do they also require the back of the marriage cert copied and signed?
Yes, on the back there's an important number, so don't forget to print it.

Tomorrow I will come back to BKK, and must report the TM30 at Cheang Wattana, all because my wife are to lazy to register for the online service. I live in Bangkapi district and every time spend 3 hours in the traffic jam. Frustrating. It will be my first TM30.

Corruption: how crafty people fake poor people with the complacency of those who should control.
I suppose every Nations in the world have this pathetic phenomena.
Why The Controller does not control? Why a person who earn 15k/month deposit 30k/month in bank and have Magnum Pickup? If only there were the will, there would be no such lousy phenomenon. A struggle between the lower strata of society, with the police officers who instead of defending the citizens, harass them and defend the elite. The development of the media of the web should stop this evil behavior, of course with a little courage on the part of the oppressed people.

Today I've done the procedure. Arrived at 10, just 5-6 people in queue. No problems with the document, I follow the insights of ubonjoe. After 10 minutes I was outside the consulate.
Some people was asked for a bank statement (who apply for Tourist Visa), me NOT.
Now spending the night at the nearest hotel ( 300-400mt from the consulate) : Somjit Hotel, a cheap but good room: 400 bath. Tomorrow in the morning probably will go to take a visit to the Dinosaur Museum and at 14 leave for the consulate to take my passport.
Some economic details:
BKK to Mukdahan by Nachonchair 555 bath (slow speed in Poi Et province)
Mukdahan to Thai border by Tuk-Tuk: 50 baht/person (4 people)
Thai border to Lao border through Friendship Bridge 2 by bus (walk not permitted)
Lao Visa 1500 baht
Lao border to Thai Consulate bu Tuk Tuk: 100 baht/person (4 people)
Non Immigrant Visa 2000 baht
Hotel Room at Somjit Hotel: 400 baht

My wife should came with me? Or I can do it by myself?
I found a Nakhonchair bus that go to Mukdahan. As expert Thai Expats, and expert to border running, do you have experience about the best option to travel to Savannakhet?

How to compile the Visa Application Form?
For example address in Laos I should write?
-

1 hour ago, ubonjoe said:
That info is not correct.
Savannakhet only requires your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card signed by her.
You can get a single or multiple entry non-o visa with no financial proof there.
As marriage certificate you intend Kor.2 or Kor.3 ?
They will return the original certificate?

I get married some days ago, and I decide to go to Savannakhet next Monday to apply for a Non-O Visa.
I saw many websites, including that embassy and consulates in Vientiane and Savannakhet http://www.thaisavannakhet.com/savannakhet/th/consulate/contact/ No English) but I get confused about the paperwork to present.
So I would like to read some experience from expat here. Thailand's paperwork culture are frustrating me.
The wife should come with me to Laos? She work hard and I don't want to let here ask for 2 days.
In the website of Consular Section of the Thai embassy in Vientiane for example ask for this documents:
NON-IMMIGRANT “O” VISA

1. To stay with the Thai family 2. To accompany spouse or family members working, studying or living in Thailand 3. To participate in voluntary services in Thailand 4. To have a long-stay retirement
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1. A completed and signed Visa Application Form
2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months
3. A passport or travel documents (valid for no less than 6 months)
4. Additional requirements for specific purposes
4.1 To stay with the Thai family
• An original marriage certificate (for spouse) or birth certificate (for parents), a passport, and an Identity Card of the Thai spouse (copies of documents must be signed by the Thai spouse)
• An original letter from the applicant’s Thai spouse
• A bank statement (for Multiple-Entry visa, an applicant should show at least 6 months of bank statement with at least 100,000 baht or that equivalent in other currencies)

What about the education system. University students do the same activities as primary school's students. 2-3 brainwashing activities for week, thanks to teachers, thanks to university, thanks to deans, thanks to mountains and rivers, thanks to king and queen, just some lessons and the exams are all pre-advised. Moreover, Thai students really don't read.
