  1. I want to have a bit of experience of how to cook Thai food and now I'm looking for a Thai cook class to attend, anyone know any where which doesn't cost too much to attend just for few hours? I know "Blue Elephant" but is very expensive

I remember one on Sukhumvit 33/1 but don't remember the name.

  2. Thought Battery operated hege trimmer would be available here. but was unable to find one yesterday, has anyone seen? I'm feeling a little guilt watching her with the manual version, and wouldn't trust her with electric.

    Cheers

I looked everywhere. Nothing. Finally had a friend bring one from the UK.

  3. I have been using sms.thaivisa since the service started and found it very good, but last week it stopped sending my phone number with messages and now says my sms's are from some other strange number 7800002127.

Have tried contacting sms.thaivisa but they don't respond.

I can not receive replies when I use thaivisa sms. I've had no reply from the support group, either.

Anyone know of a reliable service? I'm in Russia.

  4. I originally posted this on the Pattaya forum but am reposting it here in the hope of getting more responses.

What is best current deal availible on generic viagra (penagra, kamagra).

I have been paying 400 baht for a pack of four or 1000 baht for three packs.

However I was recently offered two packs for 500 baht at the same chemist but from a different assistant which leads me to beleive I have been overpaying for these last few months.

What are the best current prices and where from?

In Pattaya, 2nd Road at Soi 13 next to Tim's Bar. THB300 for pack of 4.

  5. I hate those tailors, I hate them. "alwight mate", god one day i would love to pull out a gun and blow one of they're knees away and then say "yeah alwight mate" ######ing arshole ######!!!!!!1

Totally agree. Every time one reaches out to shake my hand I ask, loudly, if he's trying to steal my watch.

How do they ever figure that buying a suit is an impulsive decision?

  6. Walking on the opposite side of the road from the beach is much more dangerous. Indian tailors are much more of a nuisance than katoeys.

  7. You can get a long term visa based on marriage by showing a pension/income of over 40k per month.

You can also next year when you are 50 years old, show 800K in a bank account (funds in the account for three months) or a pension of 65k per month and get a extension of stay based on retirement.

This whole situation is baffliong the hel_l out of me. I am:

    over 50

    married to a Thai national

have a type O expiring in January

My wife checked with immigration in Sriracha about extending my visa. She was told we needed:

    800k in the bank

    medical form

    proof of monthly income

I can comply but it is very confusing.

    Guess I'll go to Pattaya.

  8. Has anyone installed one of these piggybacks? I've been looking at the website for DP chips. Anyone familiar? I want to buy one, just not sure whether to buy from DP or TRD.

Leather: I want to put leather seats in my Prerunner. Maybe from a Fortuner? Any ideas?

  9. Between Sriracha and Bang Saen there are two 2 housing developments, both seaside. One is Heritage and is expensive, up to around 12 million, i believe. the other is Casa Lunar. Not sure about prices there. Both are on Sukhumvit between Sriricha and Nong Mon before the Nong Mon bypass if you are driving from Sriracha. I recall a new development south of Sriracha, too. Not on seaside. Across RR tracks. Can't recall the name. Sriracha John probably can. Kinda on hill? Maybe just now in completion stage?

    I agreed

Heritage: is quite expensive and why did they have to put up 23units-4 stories townhome next to the beach!....blocking the seaview for the rest of the single homes. Most of the lots had already been sold! – to the flippers from Bangkok?

Casa Lunar: Where is it?....couldn’t find any info on them

    And there are these two

SriRacha Home: This is a small new development along Sukumvit – right side - on the way to Bangsaen from SriRacha, 1km before you hit Robinson – good price, but too close to Sukumvit road therefore it will be too noisy!

Bangsaen Mahanakon: very big development, decent location, reasonably priced, but the house styles are nothing to be desired - sort of ugly cottage style!

Casa Lunar is on Sukhumvit about 1.5 km nearer Bang Saen.

There are more developments on the Nong Mon bypass. don't know the names. I'll ask my wife.

  10. I very don’t know at this point where will we be exactly or even what is our ideal neighborhood? We had thought about the exact location many hundred times over but no such luck yet. Someplace where it is treed, on the hill w/ sunset & seaview, quiet, but yet close to downtown, relatively low traffic, having a sense of serenity in the midst of or nearby the hustle & bustle – yet at the same time you have an option of without taking a car, you can also get into the heart of activities or shoppings with public transportations. Here where I’m living now – Seattle - there are a lot of those neighbourhoods. If we can find someplace that is pretty close to the one we’re living in now, we will be very happy. Now at least we’re narrowing our target area instead of all over the map along eastern seaboard!

After reading many posts we are now leaning toward someplace between Bangsaen beach and just before SriRacha – this way we will get the best of both places have to offer.

I’m sure there will be enough new things to see, learn and experience during these 5 yrs, we will feel like a kid again, full of much wonderment – discovering new ways of life, food, places, people, and politics oh boy!. Except the most difficult thing for us to accept will be the constant dangerous situations and manoeuvres you'll see almost every time you drive on the roads!

If any of you or those out there have any more info about a good/decent residential area between Bangsaean beach-SriRacha, it will be much appreciated.

Thanks all again for those wonderful insights
