  1. Is ThaiVisa only read -and commented- by .. non Thai people, of which I am (non-Thai, that is) ? It just saddens me how we, non-Thai, constantly denigrate this people and its rulers.. We, non-Thai of western origins, have a different way to think, maybe more Descartian (from French philosopher René Descartes). We tend to analyse, scrutinize, even judge others' opinions, behaviors, and policies. But coming back to where we have chosen to live, who and what are we to always comment negatively on our host country ?Right or wrong, does it matter? Live and let live. We, westerners, always have to opportunity to pull out if we don't like it. Happy Valentine

  2. « Major shootings are rare in the Southeast Asian country other than in the far south, where a decades-old insurgency persists.«

Short memory : what about that jewellery attack not long ago .. what about shootings at tribunals last year.

Foreign media describe Thailand as having one of the highest guns ownerships (legal) in the world..

When Australia had its mass-shooting at Port Arthur, the government went on a gun buy back scheme as well as restricting gun ownership laws. Shall we see this happen here ... mmm ?

My deepest condolences to the families afflicted by this terrible event. It is so unfair.

You have to do your 90 day report at the office where you applied for your extension unless you formally change your address to another office.

You can do the reports online or by mail with no need to be at your home to do them that way.

What extension if it is my very first TM90 ? I only did a TM30 (if that is what the residential report is)

  4. Living in Thailand’s outback I don’t yet see any particular impact from that virus. The economic impact has been there for quite a while as far as the farmers are concerned. You don’t see no Chinese tourists out here (Bueng Kan province).

What I am concerned with are the border controls with neighbouring countries.. inexistant, all eyes are turned towards BKK Pattaya and Phuket ..

  5. Incroyable ... mais vrai « unbelievable but true » for those ignorant in Molière’s language..????

Frenchies must be desperate (and literraly stupid) to engage in illegal work. I’d be interested to know how much they were getting paid ? Thai wage ..?

The Gilets Jaunes crisis in France must be biting hard ..

But IF Thai cared to learn languages it would give them opportunities.. Non ?

    Au revoir,

Stick one of these on your keys. How difficult is that?

Think outside of the box, jeez ????

Convenience stores are there to provide products, it is not in their remit to provide additional packaging when they have clearly pledged that they no longer will.

People (not necessarily you) are the problem because they have a tendency to prioritize convenience above being a bit more ethical.

Hey.. great gadget.. give us the link and I'll buy a few for me and my family..

  7. So ... where do those 39 million visitors go disappear ? Shouldn’t Pattaya and Phuket hotels be chock’o’block full of Indians, Ruskies, Chinese, and whoever else comes in LOSex.. ? I know ..Indians sleep 6 in a room, Russians don’t sleep anywhere else than on the beaches and in the bars. Chinese .. not sure where they stay.

Oh well, like my Thai gf likes to say « nevermind » !

  8. Maybe a good start is at home: and start your own rubbish selection: food to the compost, plastics in one bin and cardboards in another. Whatever is recyclable, such as plastic bottles are collected by the ban. When you go buy take away, take your own metal bento box (or whatever they’re called in Thailand, multi boxes you can buy at Makro etc). And get you Thai wife (or whatever) to talk about it to the neighbours and friends. It is a matter of discipline which then becomes a habit.

If we, farangs, are so clever and dedicated, to continuously criticise our host country is not very productive.

  9. Would be nice if name(s) of villages were mentionned. Might help to draw a map of which villages are noiser/calmer than others. Mine was Phon Charoen ... nothing much happens there except some farang would return home from the local pub swearing and what have you much after dark... His missus, although embarrased vis à vis the neighbours managed to quiet him down and make a good pet out of him, for his betterment, mind you. As for me, I was shown the door and moved on to highway 222 !

    I do love Issan though

My wife and I are planning to get 5 year Family Excursion Thai Elite visas in January 2020. These are 800k THB for 2 people. The Thailand Elite website makes it hard to navigate and actually see all the choices and prices. I've attached an image that shows all the options which I believe are still accurate. If you scroll to the end of the official TE FAQ you can see they obliquely mention the TM30 (where is the place that the house owner or possessor have to nofity...) and that they do not help you with this cumbersome form. However I am hearing on this forum and others that immigration are getting less militant about visiting one province or another and filing TM30 but that is only hearsay.

Thanks a lot for the info. I already had that page and am in touch the Elite people. I chose the 800k 10yr plan Elite Fam Alernative. As for the TM90, Elite reckon they can assist if needed. But it can’t be that complicated a formality, what’s more once every three months. Plus it might add some spice in rural way of life ????

If you're up in the sticks in issan, then you wont be able to get TE to do your 90 day reporting either.

I'd start asking you immigration office if you can do it online and/or via post.

If you're going to pay 1 million thb though (and you cant use the limo/spa/golf rubbish) .. then you can get the 20 yr package for the same price of 1 million... it makes no sense to pay the same for have half the validity if you cannot use the transfers/golf packages/ spas etc...

That 20yr package is now 2 million.. Check attachment.. Apparently I can do that 90 day reporting online .. ?

No there is not... you're talking about the elite family alternative membership.... this is for "attaching" a family member to a CORE member... the core member being a fully paid "full" package membership holder... it is not for the individual.

The cheapest 10 year package is the one I quoted above @ 1 million THB.

I suggest you contact TE customer service to explain your options so you have the information you need.

I'm not getting into the TM30... this forum has hundreds of post on it.

Thanks, I see your point. Yet this is what was suggested to me ! I’ll get on to the TE service and check it out. I read about that TM30.. another confusing subject. Cheers
