  1. Train 69 does not go to Surin or Korat, Train 67 goes via Korat to Surin. They are separate trains.

If u can get to a train station they should have a paper timetable that is clearer & has more detail of the route.

  2. lots of info at www.visitsingapore.com

There is a desk in the airport terminal that has promotions/ last minute deals for hotels

Lots of computer shops near Bugis mrt station [Rochor centre ,Sim Lim ]. Thats a good area to stay for shopping ,transport & sightseeing.

Along the river at night there are some ok restaurants including Thai food if, like me ,you have a wife who will not eat anything else.

  3. The timetable on the net is not correct/ complete. Better to get a paper timetable available from any station. The one in thai has more trains than the timetable in english.

I don't remember 100 % but I think the trains you are after don't stop at Pichit. [ The train to Chiang Mai doesn't stop at Ayuttaya tho it says it does on the net timetable]

The departure times r correct for the 2 trains u mentioned

  4. I think the term 'best airlines' should refer to different areas including being an economical one. Singapore and Thai Alns have always been the most expensive in my list of travel fairs. Emirates have always offered cheaper tickets in my case.

If you book on singaporeair website the fares are some of the cheapest around, plus lots of planes to evrywhere.

  5. Chiang Rai city is full of travel agencies doing tours. You can turn up anytime. Easy to wander around & work out for yourself plus you can get to talk to someone in the office about exactly what you want.

I would think they all go to see hilltribes, hard to avoid. You can see them around town in the markets and in the night bazaar

    Don't miss the white temple
