Well there is something in between, and YES there is an emerging middle class in Thailand. Educated and doctor translates as ambitious for me, not necessary hi-so. All those Problems like in that guys Story root in financial problems and greed from the women’s side. True you can be scammed by Thai women of any Social class. However, a certain level of education and a decent own income of the Woman put the financial aspect within the relationship more in the background. Educated Thai women being financially Independent also don’t choose the First available westerner, as they don’t need it. That’s why so many Business women in their 30s are still Single Here in Bangkok. that’s why it amazes me why so many western guys choose thai women here with who they have 0 similar interests , without being able to communicate properly and all those regular Basic Problems.

I said “some”, not all Europeans.. But it’s a fact that Thai women are still seen a poor/ uneducated and just looking for a well-off white guy by folks who never have been to Thailand before. Same as many idiots back in Europe still roll their eyes, if they hear of expats moving to Thailand.

If all those naive guys would just be patient and not just take the first “isaan teerak” they meet, thinking it’s genuine and eternal love, those stories would happen less frequently. always funny when i am with my wife in europe and some people can’t believe that a Thai woman can have a doctor’s degree, a well-paid job and perfect english ????

I’m still in my 30s, but have known lots of older farang here during my years in Thailand telling me they “love it here, as women are much more caring and have a higher Sex drive compared to their women at home”. thats no excuse for sure and that guy should have simply divorced, but it’s definitely a reason why so many older guys like Thailand and get here what they are missing at home.

Well..thats a good thing to have a Thai wife, allowing me to use the “Thai National” booths when I travel with her and mostly fast track, due to business class, when I travel alone????crazy and I’ve seen both Thai Nationals and thai-western couples queuing at the “International” booths. But it’s up to them, if they dont value their time.

Poor girl ???????? thats the exact reason, why I keep 95% of my Money overseas and use WIse month by month. I don’t trust Thai banks and Thailand in such issues. If they refuse to help their own citizens, guess how it would turn out for an western expat.

Happened to me once…showed them the business card of a friend of my wife and me, who works in a high position in one of the Thai ministries. Smiled and asked, if they want me to call him, but things would go a different way then ???? It worked without the call and just shows how scared those morons are , as soon as the situation gets challenging. they know exactly when/if they are doing illegal stuff, but expect westerners to be helpless in such situations. Apart from that, all my other situations with the Thai police where normal/smooth though.

Still they want to be seen as a developed 1st world country. The reality is that Thailand is closer to India than to Japan/South Korea in that context????

This is Thailand!!! Officers as naive as kids + scared if dealing with hi-so/ influential culprits always lead to that embarrassing result. That plus the fact that 9 out 10 officers are open-minded towards bribing. The new Thai 12 point system is beyond ridiculous!! With no more than 4 points deducted in the worst case, you can basically drive drunk, have an accident and even kill people 3 Times!!!

Sums everything up how it sadly, how things work in Thailand. Police Captain= I’m the king of the world. Hope karma hits him, and the same will happen to him or any family member in an emergency situation.

The fact to never be able to travel again outside of Thailand, be in constant fear of getting in a random police control or getting sick and having to go to a hospital, where everything would be revealed. this seriously can’t be worth it..even if that person lives under a rock.

Sure he is not 100%, but that process doesn’t happen from one day to another. Thailand is the worst places for people having mental issues, as society doesn’t care at all about that. So it has nothing to with Schadenfreude, but it was stupidity back in the days, when he started overstaying.

How stupid can a person be ??????? never have overstayed a single day in all those years. However, if I would be that stupid to do, the least I would do is to cause trouble!!! well done finish man..enjoy the -20 degrees in Helsinki or wherever you are from this winter.

Blacklist him for 5 or 10 year and send him back to his home country! That would help a lot to get rid of all those morons who just come here for trouble!!

Here we go again. Regardless of him obviously being a moron and not smart at all. Why those guys are ALWAYS!! on overstay. It’s not that a visa run costs a fortune and the story didn’t mention he was persecuted in Germany (which would have been the only logical argument to overstay and stay under the radar)

Raise to 100million? Cmon ..to be really sure, please raise it directly to 1 billion. 100 million are just peanuts for all of us, as we take a Champagner Bath every morning, eat Khao Phad with caviar for breakfast and let our wife’s decide, if they take the Bentley or the Lamborghini Urus to drive to the local market????????????

Remember how they served me pre-covid frozen caviar in First class and asking me rude “why you need a full meal at 1am in the morning”. Their service was elegant, genuine and lovely, but got worse year by year. Som nam na for their economic situation.

I really noticed some improvement recently. In my area here in Bangkok people wearing masks outdoors went from +95% to around 80% and basically no one jogging is wearing a mask anymore. Slow but steady. ????

Every massacre is terrible! But doing it in a Kindergarden and not hesitating to kill innocent toddlers is just another level. Wish they caught this coward alive and let him suffer eternally!!

Seems lots of guys are living under a rock! Condé Nast is very well known in the luxury travel industry. It’s a niche market, but their magazine has been around for decades. However, the resort ranking is ridiculous. The Rosewood at #1 is fine, but no way Aleenta and the Anantara Hua Hin (apart from the lagoon-club Suites) are in front of Trisara, which is THE ultra-luxe resort in Thailand. Got the best and most attentive service ever there.

Covid itself is not over, but it’s definitely over as life-threatening virus. i know Thailand won’t do it, but with some rational thinking I would like to hear a 100% clear statement that masks are NOT needed outdoors, that all those people on tv stop wearing masks and so on. everyone can decide it on their own, but we all know that most Thai people just wear it due to the social pressure no mask = bad person. would be especially an improvement for the kids, as there are still enough idiotic thai parents who let their kids play with a mask on the beach.

NOTHING will change, at least in daily life. After all Thailand has a moron health minister, who seriously praises their citizens after 2.5 years that they are still wearing mask outdoors!! After all they got what they wanted.. keep the state of emergency until the majority of thai people loose their interest in protests and demonstrations.
