  1. The post- covid are should be used to attract tourists with attractive offers, that differentiate from competitive countries in the region. However, what does Thailand do? Like always they gain negative attention with their brain-fart ideas. i really wish that airlines just boycott that <deleted> and simply don’t care. Thai officials would then be stupid enough to install booths before/ after immigration to collect that fee, which would result in even more negative attention/ chaos.
  2. Guess the guy who wrote this article would live under a bridge in the UK, if his pension is that miserable that he starts saving with AC costs in Thailand? Everything got more expensive and I pity minimum wage locals who have to pay 20 THB for a portion of moo yaang. However, 3700THB/week for groceries and 1000THB for gas a still so cheap compared to Europe!
  3. Just f*** those lunatics! When will they stop with those totally unrealistic scenarios and come up with some decent proposals ? The total majority of foreigners don’t have and won’t ever have 40 Mio THB to invest in Thailand. This happens when officials are living in their bubble of corruption and money bribe, having totally lost the connection to real life..
  4. look at Malaysia. 90 day visa exempt and enjoy the country. If authorities in Thailand were smart, they would have changed it to that long time ago for more than just a few countries! No tourist staying less than 90 days in Thailand should deal with any visa sh** and dinosaur bureaucracy.
  5. Just perfectly shows the difference between brain dead dinosaurs = government vs rational thinking within the free market economy = hoteliers. Imagine how prosperous and bright Thailands future would be, IF they had capable and forward thinking individuals in the government!
  6. Well that’s the wet dream of the government! Keep the next generation of kids stupid, naive and never questioning any actions/decisions by the leaders. So back to online learning, which is not productive at all and has been proved in multiple studies all over the world.
  7. Som nam na!!! Anyway..lucky him that Europeans are not resentful, because of his xenophobic and ridiculous comments he made on westerners back in the dark covid times! A foreign politician saying stuff like he did, just about thai people, would be a persona non grata for sure !
  8. You really want to start a discussion about the fact that hierarchy and all that other status stuff is much more prevalent in Thailand than in western countries? No thanks! I admit it was good back in the days during dark covid times. No stress with anti-vaxxers like in Europe. Will end the discussion from my side here, as living here since many years and working daily with both thai and expatriate colleagues is enough proof for me to see the difference in regard to submissive behavior!
  9. LOL!! I just said many Thai people (not all) are very easy to influence/ adapt a “follow the leader” culture and have a hard time to take own decisions! Even I wrote it in an offensive way it is the simple truth!! That’s exactly why the elite can do whatever they want in this country.
  10. and fyi...my wife and I live in a local area with just a few farang in our condo complex..so sorry to disappoint you! but as you obviously don't get my point, it's useless. I know a few educated thai people who recently travelled to Europe and enjoyed their mask-free holidays there. Once back to Thailand = back to sheep mode. that has NOTHING to do with being risk averse. btw. it was NEVER mandatory per law to wear a mask outdoors.
  11. sheeply mentality also includes that people get used to a thing and just accept it. once that rule is lifted they just continue with it ,until some "leaders" stop it and they just follow. once 20-30% of people stop wearing mask, it will change rapidly. until then It`s going to be a tough process. for example NO ONE in my condo gym in BKK wears a mask during their workout. however, I see the same people continue to wear a mask on the street. so it has NOTHING to do with being risk averse.
  12. what a surprise..NOOOT!! a country full of sheep. has always been and will be always like that. and that has nothing to do with thai bashing, it's just a fact. still seeing thai kids playing on the beach with a mask on!! (like this weekend in Hua Hin), simply gets me angry... It's not just a mask, it's a full generation of obedient kids being raised, without proper opinions, critical thinking and the "keep quiet and follow" mentality.
  13. Meanwhile lots of Thais aka sheep are queuing in front of the famous mango sticky rice shop. The shop no one gave a f*** about 2 weeks ago and which will be forgotten in one month time???? Thainess at its best!
  14. Fair move from the restaurant ????I think many guys here don’t understand it and it’s EVERYWHERE the same. Be it at AKA, King Kong, Sukhishi and all the “all you can eat buffets”. Order too much and don’t eat it up = you pay a fine. Actually I love it as if they wouldn’t enforce it + the thai culture of notoriously ordering too much food, would lead to a huge waste of food.
  15. **** Thailand /TAT and everyone who is just focussing on tourist numbers in a situation like that! Thailand should be happy that their country is not important at all in the global context! If they would be important and global media would catch up about their disgusting approach of not distancing themselves from the Russian governemnt, tourists of many nations would boycott to spend their holidays in LOS. Nothing more to add!
  16. Good luck then for that bunch of morons! Don’t want to hear any tourism official to blame others as soon as Vietnam fully reopens in March! Enjoy your 200-300k tourists /month Thailand…more won’t come under the current rules. The full reality is that 90% of the tourists are not willing to jump trough hoops anymore for a simple holiday!
  17. not true. You still need 3 days quarantine in a hotel and a PCR Test on Day 3. So more or less same <deleted>:) But it's still a huge improvement to their super strict covid approach. If you want no quarantine at all, they only options right now are Cambodia and the Philippines
  18. Good try opposition morons! However, Covid as scaremongering pandemic is over! Good to see that also more and more thai people share the same attitude and are fed up. Everyone who still wants to hide in a cave is free to do as long as they want! BUT let the rest of the reasonable people move on with their lives and reboost the economy.
  19. Of course not. He is just a totally unrealistic moron born with a golden spoon in his mouth! He has 0 connection to real life and peoples needs. Any civilized country would have kicked out this xenophobic wannabe health minister long time ago.
  20. It`s all about the ****** ASQ Hotels and the government ,not the embassies!! The main problem is that many ASQ hotels are refusing to clarify about refunds, in case its down to 1day from 1.11. And this is a total NO GO!! Thats just pure greediness and sadly just the tip of the iceberg in the LOS (land of SCAMS). I am one of those flying during the 1st week of NOV but 100% won't book that 7days package until next Friday. Have no intention to throw away my money out of the window and run after a refund.
  21. Thailand is sadly ALWAYS last minute, so don't expect this to be different this time. I have my personal deadline on 20th of October. If there is no clarification by then, then forget about November. However, if they clarify it, don`t expect it be to be published until 29th/30th of October in the Royal Gazette. I still have to go, but I will book then an ASQ which gives me a full refund if I cancel up to 48hrs of traveling. Believe me, Thailand is annoying LOTS of travelers worldwide with their brainless strategy and we all would love to have at least one month of proper planning time.
  22. Thx @ubonjoe The problem is that Germany has no evisa option ???? Thats why I asked. I guess you need a return ticket for the COE if entering on exempt right? No problem, as I got that, but I think the stupid consulate in Frankfurt will reject it, as it`s over 30 days. Even I know I am 100% entiteled to extend that exemption entry for 30 days at CW.
  23. Anyone knows if they extended the 45 days or it really stopped on October 1st? Asking as I will fly in early November for 41 days to Thailand. I wouldn`t mind to get a tourist visa, but my home country embassy is simply ignoring my e-mails/calls. Walk-In is not possible due to covid and sending my passport to them is just too risky, as they may take up to 6 weeks. I have my return ticket booked, but my stay will be longer than just 30 days. I know that I have the possibility to extend the 30 days one time at the immigration, but will I still get the COE, if I travel by exemption and its over 30 days? My last COE back in February was hassle-free , but I had a proper visa and they didn`t even ask for a return ticket. I know the possibility of onward-tickets, but that would really be my last solution. THX
