Thai and Dutch tourists robbed of valuables at Pattaya hotel
edogthong replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
<deleted>, it's just 4000 Baht. Learn from this situation and move on. How is this news? -
The proposal in Thailand is extremely restricted to the point of it being pretty much an empty gesture. It is in no way comparable to what has been going on in the UK. Besides, at the moment, there's absolutely nothing stopping wealthy Thais from doing that exact thing to poor Thais which they absolutely are. Incidentally, it's only the wealthy Thais you hear complaining about this policy.

Gotta love their incentives! Invest a million dollars into the local economy and we'll let you own a small piece of land (pending review every 5 years) It reminds me of the volunteer work allowance on the OX visa. Invest millions into the local economy and we'll let you work for free in a local charity. These people are just the worst. Their incentives are an insult to begin with and now they might not even offer that insult because they're worried that they're being too generous. You couldn't make this stuff up!

You don't know what you're talking about. The channel is gone. All the great, real journalists who worked there lost their jobs. The fact that you managed to find a Google link to a website that is left as an empty shell of what once was, proves nothing.

RT English was not only restricted, it was completely removed from YT and doesn't exist anymore. Even though it had a Russian bias, it was the most objective major news channel and it's now gone forever. And the Russians are the only ones who get their information restricted according to you... Sometimes it's hard to see the censorship because you're in the middle of it.

I know her story and it's really inspiring. I'm a big fan of everything she's achieved. Please don't try and make her into some eloquent scholar who researches every fact from all possible sources and angles. She's a pretty face who said the popular current thing. That's the only reason that this is a story.

For many, Thailand’s UN vote on Russia still a puzzle
edogthong replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You're counting on people being ignorant or too lazy to look up the history for themselves. Everything you wrote is either a complete lie or a misrepresentations of the truth. Zelensky is a US puppet and the way he came to power was through a coup in 2014. A coup that was financed by the US and EU and carried out by neo-Nazi troops from the Svoboda party. They have since killed over 14,000 Russian speaking Ukrainians in the now annexed regions. Putin was ready to sign the peace deal but he knew that western involvement would likely make it impossible.- 189 replies

For many, Thailand’s UN vote on Russia still a puzzle
edogthong replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That argument makes absolutely no sense. So the US (who always acts on the interests of the military industrial complex) decides to engage in a proxy war with Russia so that they won't have to increase spending to fuel the military industrial complex? Give me a break! If you're naive enough to believe that the reason for the US starting this proxy war has anything to do with the freedom of Ukraine, you've already lost all credibility.- 189 replies

Texting while driving is an integral part of Thai culture at this point. It's good that they're finally addressing the issue but I don't think this measure will have a big effect. I really wish they would do something about all the motorbike drivers who drive around at night with no lights. I've never even seen it mentioned yet it's the one issue that's put me in danger the most times. It's always just about helmets which only endanger your own life.

India, China, Israel and Russia. Which country produces the worst tourist? -
Yes, finally someone said it. It looks absolutely ridiculous when foreigners go around waing to Thai people in daily life. Just be polite like you would back home (hopefully), no need to go overboard. It's the same with foreigners saying "kap khun kRRRap". Don't try and be overly polite in their culture. You end up looking like a fool. Save your wais for maybe senior monks in a temple or perhaps when visiting someone's home if they're considerably old. Otherwise, a nod and a thank you is all you need.
