  1. Pilotman,

Confirm all. You must have arrived after me. I was there at 6:55 and got the last chair in the right hand side row. After all the seat-holders were kicked out (definitely not allowed ! and the lady was very loud about it) I was number 8. Once they started working the line it moved fairly quickly. Still only got an appointment  on 2 September (see you there ????). But people at the front of the line had 1 September, so not much better.

A side note: There was somebody working at the Thai side at around 7:00, the lady for the farang line arrived later.

The only thing that bothers me now is the certificate of residence, it is supposed to be only valid for one month. Do we need new ones ? Will have to ask Mot when the date comes closer.

  2. Just an update on the actual situation:

Went to renew my 5 years license which expires next week. There was a long queue outside on a searate desk - only for Khon Thai, no farangs allowed.

After 8, got a number inside for the chcik-in desk upstairs. When it was my turn, she checked all my documents, stapled their form to it and asked me - rather arroganly - whether I was able to read English and pointed to a sign that said: "We are open again on 20 July". You can continue to drive with your old license. She also said, they expect 1000 Farang to show up on that day.

There were some farang admitted already, seems they had appointments and/or came with an agent. All others were sent away.

Have you tried these people -

I ended up using them in the past even though probably half way between Pattaya and Lam Chebang.

After Border Jack closed, we have used them two times for our two dogs (one lab and one larger soi dog) and were quite happy. But of course that is already some time ago ....

There is a French guy on Siam Country Club road who has a shelter and evidently also takes boarders.

So my advice: keep away from Qatar Airways, chose another,  more professional, honest and effective airline...(seems very few these days...)

I don't know - my flight was cancelled too, I had paid roughly 80000 Baht for a business class ticket to ZRH. Granted, it took some time but I got got a voucher for 90odd thousand Baht valid until May 2022....

  5. Not everything is intended by the government to make our lifes more difficult.

My experience has been since a couple of years that warfarin is not available in pharmacies, even with showing the previous package with a doctors dosage. Its the only medication I have to go to the hospital to see a doctor for. Cannot say anything about the other two mentioned by the OP.

  6. Dario,

I do not know where you are. But in Pattaya, I use Swiss Law to sign my AHV letter and they take it to the Swiss Embassy from where it goes via diplomatic mail to CH. Costs 500 B but it’s convenient and safe.

Hope they take into consideration the need for people to buy necessities many of which are only available in supermarkets. All the thousands of people live outside the lockdown zone will be denied access. That’s unreasonable. To be fair to all the supermarkets should all be shut too!

Wife went shopping at BigC Klang today. She inquired at one of the not-yet-active checkpoints and was told that all that was required to get into the locked zone is proof of residence in the district (ID for Thais) and a face mask.

Also, it seems BigC Klang is offering home delivery. I have not yet checked the exact circumstances.

Which office as they all seem to have a different requirement?

At Jomtien i have not updated in any way my fixed account (in the month preceding application) for some years. My last application was last week and no request for a statement either.

My extension is some time ago, but I updated my Bangkok Bank fixed deposit passbook at the outlet just at the corner of Soi 5/Sai Song. I tried to go inside but the guy at the door went to the machine with me and we updated there successfully - had to put the book in two times to get the actual date status. Total time at immigration: 10 minutes.
