  1. Thanks, actually less tax than I thought.
  2. When you sell a condo here, I believe you pay "income" tax on the profits. I would have assumed you deduct expenses, but TIT, so just checking. Let's say you buy a fixer upper for 2 million baht. You spend 500k baht on renovations and repairs. Later you sell for 3 million baht. Profit is 500k? Or 1 million?
  3. Does anyone know where there's horseback in CM? I remember seeing it around 5 years ago cycling west of Suthep... But nothing showing up on Google maps. Thanks.
  4. I couldn't agree more! I looked at a lot of older condos and that was a common theme, including mine. Of course I renovated it, nice furniture etc. Even renting here, it's crazy the amount of condos stuck in the 80s/90s!
  5. I'm looking into selling my condo in CM. Can anyone recommend an agent or agency. What's the typical fee they charge? 2 - 3% I believe Chinese account for up to 50% of purchases over the past few years, so an agent that deals with them would be good. Thanks.
  6. That's not how murder works, attempted or not. GBH I reckon. The Porsche driver needs to do time, 3 - 5 years and pay a lot more than 200k.
  7. Well, I'd like to know exactly what I've been contaminated with, wouldn't you?
  8. So just noticed after drinking half the bottle, a lot of weird white flakes floating in it. A well known brand, bought at 7 eleven. Has anyone had water tested here. After a google search, I found https://maritime.cmu.ac.th/en/laboratory-testing-service/ Everything is in Thai... I'll give them a call, but I'll probably need the help of a Thai. Just wondering if there are any other options.
  9. The vital evidence will stand up in court.
  10. Just another day in St Phuketsberg
  11. We pay registration tax for roads. We pay for electricity. We pay for food & entertainment, a lot more than the average Thai. We pay for doctors (a lot more than locals) Most expats wouldn't mind paying tax, if we were treated like a resident rather than a tourist.
  12. Don't forget the cartoon sound effects!
  13. Minimum 10 years prison and a hefty fine.
  14. Like, access to public healthcare, public schools for kids, voting rights, pathway to citizenship.... or anything? Or, do you pretty much have the same rights as a tourist or ED visa holder?
  15. who in their right mind would invest in this business model?
  16. Does every country include VAT on the shipping cost, or is it just Thailand? I paid 120% duty/fees on a shipment from France, as they dinged me for the shipping too.
  17. They also like to include the shipping fee in the tax and there's extra fees. I recently had an item delivered from Alibaba, the fees were 38% I also had a ledger sent from France last year, the fees were over 100% (they taxed the shipping fee which was over 100 euro)
  18. Those filthy farrangs again! They must be stopped.
  19. These numbers are way off.... for OnlyFans alone, in The US (3 year old data, so it's a lot more now) Study says, US (1 million)! More like 15,000,000. Not sure if 4+% of Thais are OF sex workers...
  20. Pointless unless they do proper prison time. Attempted murder here, should get at least 10 years. But I'm sure they'll get a small fine after a wai or 2.
  21. At the very least, you need to be a democracy to join NATO, so, no dice.
  22. Just like the Mayer in Jaws. Let's ignore the fcking forrests are on fire becauseof arson, go for a cycle and hand out some useless masks. What a fcking joke... and Thai people just keep taking it 😕
  23. Complaining on FB is worthless. There needs to be 1000s on the streets protesting. If this was happening in a western city and the government did nothing, people would be on the streets demanding action. If there was anything that warrents protesting, it's this issue.
  24. What an absolute disgrace. Free masks! Knowing Thailand, I'm sure they're cheap surgical masks. I rarely see a local wearing a proper N95 mask. They've just admitted that money is more important than their citizens and guests health. The Thai people are also accountable here, if they actually grew a backbone and actually protested this, then, maybe something will be done... but every year, they just bend over and take it, bar the odd protest with a dozen or so locals at Tha Pae Gate. Seeing as they're not willing to do anything about the arson/pollution, and put profit over peoples health, they need to offer, - 5+ N95 Masks - 1 - 2 air purifiers per household - 2 - 3 months of 1/2 price electricity (time spent indoors is double, with air purifiers and a/c running) This is the least they can do until they become a developed country and fix this draconian issue.
