USA Bank Transfer
Captain Monday replied to Brn2Trvl's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
How long should a bank wire sent from US on monday afternoon take to land in Thai bank account? -
My country does not issue you a new passport if you have too many Thai stamps Only if you have no more pages left. Or it will expire within 9 months Or if it was lost or mutilated. You can also apply for a second valid passport Your name DOB, fingerprints and face don't change. All your previous entries can be linked

I filed the returns to scrape back some of the interest on saving account that was confiscated. My only income in Thailand has ever been from savings account and I used to keep a large amount here gaining a nifty return. Never took more than 30 minutes rubbing elbows with some nice ladies ad the local revenue office.

Interrogation at Suvarnabhumi
Captain Monday replied to Peabody's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Maybe they are hip to the “onward” gig The famous “listing without a booking” I bought one once to see if they are real It is a real PNR listing, just not paid for yet So not a confirmed flight reservation I guess if you called the airline and completed the payment in time it is a flight you could actually use I traveled for years on staff standby tickets Those are by definition not confirmed, but nobody ever asked -
2nd visa exempt by air. Denial?
Captain Monday replied to Captain Monday's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not trying to impress anybody and won’t be lying to them about where I stay. Since my condo is where I have been coming around 6-8 times a year for 16 years even if I book a couple nights at Marriott Chiang Mai. Looking forward to seeing what the remodel looks like ( Le Meridien Chiang Mai has been rebranded) -

Captain Monday replied to Captain Monday's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes. This happened to me returning to my own country once and disgusted I went to another agents line. Always wondered if this information on the TM6 was recorded a database or the forms just stored somewhere. A actual full mailing street address in Bangkok or Chiang Mai is pretty detailed. House number, street, soi, condo name, room number. tambon. Then what Jangwat and postal code. No foreigner can write that on a TM6. And how the hell would Thai immigration be supposed to read the ham fisted scrawlings of these people who come from dozens of countries and Many who can’t write Roman letters? -

You don’t have a choice when guided to the line. My harshest grilling was from an older lady when I was a member of Thailand Elite no less Not too bad looking. Do you have house, wife , girlfriend, kids, business in Thailand? I think she wanted to “be” with me. -

I suggest the yellow book as proof of accommodations. Maybe I should just book a few days at Le Meridien Chiang Mai ? So, what is the definition of “live in Thailand” I have always spent more time outside of Thailand with no multi month stays except during 2021-2022. If tourists can’t own condos I wish they would not have flogged one off to me years ago. Another time yes. Never heard of TM30 for the fist 7 years or so and nobody ever suggested I could not come to Thailand every other month visa exempt between overseas work rotations. It seems like things will only be getting worse. Captain Monday - “Constant International Travel” -
You were not happy with the facial scanners they inexplicably USE SOMETIMES but not others at departure gates at some US airports? I do not know what is up with those I have heard some passenger getting upset about it Agent said it was a LAX world airports corp requirement You are walking around an airport with hundreds of cameras pointed everywhere what is one more photo gonna change?

Fine "Thank you" we are in total agreement then. And see wonderful post of Georgealbert above. However, I do not see what point I am blurring. All carriers have the same nearly identical language it comes from ICAO and international conventions. Doubt anyone can show otherwise. There are 3 (and more) horrid examples of what I call "rubbish from the barstool" misunderstandings that I have beaten over the head with over the years that appear to be as persistent as antisemitic tropes. All of them complete nonsense. 1) Airlines are legally financially repsonsible for removing passengers who have been denied entry and not the passenger 2) An international passenger connecting terminal in Thailand is some kind of no mans land where Thai law does not apply 3) Somewhat nonrelated.. but the sad and tired trope that "Foreign Embassies are sovereign territory of Foreign countries" All utter pish

Minivan passengers pass out from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning
Captain Monday replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Arrived once at a restaurant. Outside some uncle was spraying at an exhaust vent with a weak garden hose Thai GF was completely unfazed and wanted to sit down in the smoke filled dining room. "Don't worry no problem" No way. 10 minutes later the whole roof was ablaze place was closed for months. They really are an indefatigable people. -

I remember how dads old VW stunk with the engine behind us. -
It appears you have read my tedious post. Not sure if you are disputing it in some way as your response is not clear I would ask anyone who does dispute my submission to please check for example KE contract of carriage specifically Article 16 paragraph 2.) term 2) All airlines are the same. Nobody reads the small print but any mistaken idea the airline must give passengers denied entry to any country a free flight back to their point of origin is at best a fundamental misunderstanding. I just call it "barstool rubbish". The passenger agreed to be financially respsonsible when they agreed to the terms and conditions. terms_of_carriage_eng.pdf

Blacklist Expired
Captain Monday replied to globalcrossing's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Probably something with English as serious as BLACKLIST is I have seen overstay stamps in all Thai, and this one from CM posted I would not want such a thing in my passport when applying for visas or airport entry to other countries -

Captain Monday replied to globalcrossing's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What does a blacklist stamp look like? Can agent Cindy-Lou Who works for Delta airlines in at Hot Springs Arkansas airport read a stamp if it is in all Thai script?
