  1. The actions of foreign crims and scofflaws reflect badly on all of us expats doing nothing wrong.
  2. You are about 36 hours behind Israel's lies. Yesterday Netanyahu said the whole assault was in error So then who was in the aid convoy does not matter does it now? My guess is the only reason José Andrés is not dead is he is a celebrity.
  3. You made a good post before. But the central premise of your criticism is invalid. Looking forwards to more pearls of wisdom from the Scouse brain trust, much more reasoned and literate than those of our Penny Lane Pandit. My country too has crooked Pols and 30 percent plus adult males (USA) convicted crims with long arrest records. We cannot deport them, we should not execute them. Unfortunately Thailand allows them in them in without criminal checks. No matter how bad Thai politicians or criminals are, their actions do not reflect negatively on me or any other foreigner, not like your chums from Her Majesties prisons and gaols you vouch for and mollycoddle.
  4. White is not an ethnicity. It is a lack of skin pigment that provides privilege.
  5. How did the rice pledging scheme affect you?Do not please, pretend the problems and hassles affecting the average law abiding expat since 1998 have anything to do with Thai criminality or politics. it is the foreign crims who drag you down.
  6. This convoy of vehicles was per-approved and vehicles clearly marked. Targeting of aid workers journalists and hospitals has happened again and again and again There are two possibilities. The IDF is completely incompetent failing again and again to identify non-combatants or the Netanyahu regime Is lying.
  7. Good. Now time for mods to shut the thread down as the OP has his answer and he is guaranteed an on time flight and immediate immigration and customs clearance via fast-track with no checked baggage.
  8. What is the drive time from BKK to Bangkok Hospital in Pattaya under perfect conditions?
  9. Never agreed with anything this Pineapple ever said until now. Face facts Mr. farnung. Unless one holds PR or Thai citizenship you are a permanent short-term visitor. Every proplem and hassle that has been increasing over the years is partly the fault of these foreign crims scroungers, and scofflaws. Heavy fines then Thai Jail and then deport. "persona non grata"
  10. The worst is yet to come Eventually we must abandon our self to fate
  11. It has only to do with the philosophy of life where one hopes for the best and plans for the worst. Not making a an appointment based on a flight landing exactly on time and then an entire sequence of of subsequent actions and events thereafter from immigration clearance to predictions of traffic like a soothsayer to be perfect. Ever heard of the 7 P's?
  12. I have really fast plaque buildup and try to go every 3 months even though ny insurance only pays for two cleanings Chiang Mai clinics I used also get booked up well in advance I started going in Japan during covid to this one clinic. Easy to get appointments. Figured out reason they have crazy long hours even weekday nights and Saturdays.
  13. No, that is what I am saying. I come in the day before, and I always have a backup flight planned. Going to LAX usually out of the way now but I really like this clinic. No upsell and great care and concern for comfort. They are all lady Dentists from UCLA who were trained by a certain professor/Dentist who is now retired. Real pros. I do not own a car in any country and never will again unless forced need it for mobility. Personal ownership of cars should be banned, especially for Farangs in Thailand. It is job negative for Thais. I take the bus or Uber
  14. Ok, Samut Prakhan Province traffic. Channeling our Penny Lane Pandit today?
  15. Yes, and for work. I don't have to but have been attending the same excellent dental clinic as much a feasible near LAX since the late 90s Forget my signature? Captain Monday- "Constant International Travel" The cleaning is not as important as the busy periodontal schedule reserved months in advance, and my reputation for reliability. The schedule is ridiculous and sometimes I get in on the waiting list. Thus I do not plan my arrival assuming the last possible flight arrives on time then guessing on traffic conditions.
  16. You are one vill canker. Ever heard of personal responsibility? If you miss a doctor appointment you alone are not left out it it is the others who could have taken that time slot that you blithely ignore flying in with no backup. The mind boggles.
  17. What is everything goes perfectly Then a bus crashes causing a 90 minute delay?
  18. I done seen it 50 clicks out of Saigon 2006 I also saw a factory where smiling women shelled cashews for $1 per day. Met the local cadres and Phu Yai. Stayed in a village accessible only by motorbike guided by a Viet-American “friend”
  19. Could be or could not be. In America I have to make appointments for a tooth cleaning three months in advance. The last time the power was out. First time in 28 years. Yes I flew on the night before. The problem is the assumption that a flight will arrive at a certain time. It could be delayed, or even canceled. Then guess'sabout Bangkok traffic. The mind boggles.
  20. The mind boggles. If I had an important appointment in Pattaya flying in I would plan to come in one or two days before to avoid piss poor performance.
  21. So I see you never had to break a log in two with a chopstick
  22. I can't forget what I saw at Taos Ski Valley New Mexico in the 1980s. "Here I sit , cheeks a flexin', giving birth to another Texan" Another one in the toilet where many British expats worked. Arrow pointing to the toilet paper "US College Diplomas".
  23. I was told by this amphur that my parents have to come from the US as witnesses, to what I do not know, affirm my existence? I explained they are elderly no way they are coming to Thailand. This cow then with a straight face said OK "you bring me death certificate when they die" At that point I gave up realizing I was in a Kafkaesque quandary. We waited until she retired and I finally got the Yellow book after some years of my first attempt. Last year an agent in Chiang Mai said it is "impossible" again surprised I had one ( a yellow book). US consul does not do COR anymore either but you can get from agents or CM immigration.
  24. I reckon sucking down executive logs has more to do with the bernoulli equation. Stainless steel is a great idea. I saw in a Bar in NYC. Like in a prison. Vandal proof and easy to clean
